We had a wonderful time in Kranjska Gora and in particular in Garni Hotel Miklic. A literal slice of heaven. Sadly we were only passing through on our way to a wedding in Italy, but after the way we were treated at this place, we are currently planning a full vacation here. Darling room but small great for a married couple maybe not too great for two single persons sharing Weird food situation They serve breakfast otherwise it’s soup until 6 PM. Not what you call full service Restaurant maybe there’s some lunch. Food is very local if you’re not used to eating heavy Potato laden greasy food it will be difficult. We stayed a total of four nights while hiking in the Julian Alps. The hotel was very accommodating, at one point allowing us to extend an extra night when the weather was bad. The staff (whose English overall was quite good) also helped us change a reservation at one of the mountain huts. The breakfast buffet is generous, and the free wi-fi was easy to use and had a good connection. We would stay at the Kompas again if in KG.
