Top tip - if you want to eat dinner at their restaurant (and you do - delicious) make sure to book in advance. Also, if you're considering just doing a day trip to Meissen instead, don't. Stay at least two nights. This town is spectacular."

"It's a nice traditional place, very well located in the old town. Very clean but not very modern, and with a shower-in-tub arrangement that was difficult to deal with and felt quite dangerous. Absolutely lovely breakfast room and excellent breakfast. Very good food and huge portions in the hotel restaurant. No English TV at all, not even CNN or BBC, so that was a disappointment, "

" Very grand looking hotel, with a beautiful reception hallways and breakfast room, set in a stunning garden area. Very good breakfast. But the “studios” are bright red, blue and white, has a seaside theme!!! This bright cheap decor is such a shame."

It was a fairly easy walk to the Market Square as well as all of the historic sights of Meißen. Also close to the train station for a day trip to Dresden and the Schloss Wackerbarth winery. "
