"Halekulani Okinawa exceeded every expectation and was easily the most luxurious resort we experienced during our time in Japan. Traveling as a family of four, we chose to splurge on two rooms in the Sunset Beach Tower, and it was absolutely worth it.
The rooms were stunning, thoughtfully designed, and fully equipped with premium amenities. From the stocked minibar and Nespresso machine to the beach bag and sandals you can take home, every detail felt elevated. The inclusion of comfortable pajamas added an extra layer of comfort. Housekeeping was exceptional with daily service and a relaxing evening turndown.
Service across the entire resort was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, creating a welcoming and seamless experience throughout our stay.
Dining was a highlight. We enjoyed dinners at House Without a Key, which offered a perfect casual setting with great seafood, pasta, and salads, and Steak & Wine for a more upscale experience. The quality of food was excellent across the board. Steak & Wine is on the pricier side, but the experience and quality matched the cost. Be sure to book reservations in advance as slots open daily and fill quickly.
We chose to explore local cafés for breakfast, which was a great way to experience the island. The resort is also conveniently located near several excellent dining options.
The gym was well-equipped, and the pool areas were beautiful and relaxing. 5 Stars all the way!!"
"Excellent stay. Very friendly staff as most Okinowans are. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Hotel has several restaurants and gift shop options. Breakfast was excellent with about 100 food options to pick from each morning. I recommend the Japanese only breakfast. Beach was gorgeous and right next to the hotel. Parking costs 500 yen per day. Indoor pool was large and clean. There are many other amenities. "
"The AC and the room lights were only controlled by inserting the room key. We could not shut the light off without turning the AC…. So it’s either bright when you sleep with the lights on with AC or lights and off with AC off and hot."
"Was so disappointed in the water temperature. It was just slightly warm. I was diving in the ocean every day and really needed to warm up my body temperature. I never could get warmed up. All three days I was praying for hot water but never got it! Very bummed. Other than this the hotel was fine. Pretty beach decent food."
