Great hotel, really friendly staff, and a good breakfast and public bath (lovely little outdoor pool), a bit of a distance from town but they run a shuttle to and from the station which only takes 15 minutes.
An absolutely magical experience, Yatusankan blew me away with the level of service and the beauty of the property. It was like staying in a museum--my wide and i remarked several times how much it felt like being inside the movie Spirited Away. Staying here was a special highlight of our trip and I hope to come back
This is a hotel in the middle of mountain in Hirayu area.
Above the cleanness, comfort level..... I stay there couple of days.
The hotel staff pick me up to bus station in Hirayu (5 Km away). I saying that the hotel does not have any officially shuttle program. They are go out their way to help me catch up with the bus schedule so i do not waste my time of bus station for waiting. And most importantly i have enough time to visit Kamokochi national park.
I really appreciate the altitude...
Dinner with locally raised beef (3 flavors to select prior to your stay) and buffet is served at 5:30 and 7:30 pm daily. Buffet breakfast is also of high quality.
But you can explore neighboring restaurants and cafes since the hotel’s location is so convenient.
There is a washer-dryer in our room that feels like at home.
The guest floors (total 5) have small exhibition places to showcase local traditional craft works.
The room is quite small and spartan but the location and amenities make up for this. The hotel is in the middle of the old town. It is an 8 min walk to the Miyagawa morning market. There is a nice onsen on the premises and they offer free drinks and sake tasting every night in the lobby area. Lots of restaurants nearby serving hida beef. Highly recommend.
Clean and helpful staff, very quiet location yet less than 10 minute flat walk to train station. Lovely private onsen.Wish we had the ability to make coffee in our room…
Cozy beautiful traditional Japanese building. Amazing service by the lady who received us, she was so generous with us.
The rooms and mattresses were super comfortable as well.
