Four night stay whilst we (mother and adult son) raced about taking care of legal aspects of an UK property deal. HIEX was a clean, comfortable, welcoming place to come back to each night. We had a double room, booked through a comparison website, but a quick call to the hotel after booking arranged an additional 'rollaway' bed with no hassle and no additional charge. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable rate.

Beautiful property in a beautiful village. Very large beer garden, large bathroom with a bath (instead of a standard shower). They provided a fan to partially compensate for lack of A/C (during a record breaking heatwave), but wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in South Yorkshire. Easy FREE parking.
This place has been run by the same family since the 1930s. Even the Beatles stayed here. Very warm and friendly staff. Very small room (I chose a single, although the bed was full size and took up most of the space!!!!). Still, the breakfast in the hotel dining room was great -- as were the dinner options in the evening.
