The massive El Morro and San Cristóbal fortresses stand guard over turquoise waters, offering breathtaking views and centuries of stories. Art lovers can explore museums tucked into historic mansions while foodies sample traditional mofongo at sidewalk cafés. The cathedral's spires and Governor's Mansion create a perfect backdrop for sunset photos. Free trolleys make getting around the historic district a breeze, though most visitors prefer exploring on foot. Boutique hotels in restored colonial buildings provide authentic charm with modern comforts. From rooftop bars to waterfront promenades, Old San Juan delivers Puerto Rican culture with postcard-perfect scenery.

San Juan and related destinations
Cobblestone streets lead through Old San Juan's pastel-colored buildings, where El Morro fortress stands sentinel over the Atlantic. Sip a perfect piña colada (invented here) while watching sunset from Condado Beach's golden sands. The rainforest canopy of El Yunque offers a cool respite with trails leading to hidden waterfalls. Locals recommend visiting Escambron Beach for snorkeling among tropical fish just offshore. The vibrant food scene ranges from upscale restaurants to humble kiosks at Luquillo Beach serving crispy pork and fresh seafood. For a unique adventure, kayak through the bioluminescent waters at Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve, where each paddle stroke ignites an underwater light show.

"The Double Tree Hilton was actually the best Hitel I stayed in"
EL Colonial Hotel Open Bar Adults Only
"The staff gets a 1000/10, beyond amazing. The shower in my room (207) was extremely tiny maybe 2x2 pillar in the shower made it a tight squeeze. The room I was assigned didn’t have any windows and was right by the stairs so no matter how quiet guests are you can hear everything, which I understand being a historic building. The ac was a little noisy and leaky overnight. The kindness of the staff and free drinks offer was the best part. The rooftop views were AMAZING but the rooftop definitely could use some much needed TLC. It looks like it got roughed up by the last hurricane and hasn’t been brought back up to its glory as it was in the pictures. The location of the hotel was phenomenal, right in the middle of San Juan and plenty of things to do in walking distance."

Condado Vanderbilt Hotel
"Everything about this hotel was perfect! Friendly attentive staff. Very clean and the suite was amazing! The daily stocking of refrigerator with beverages was an added plus that I wasn’t aware of due to keeping privacy light on. The staff worked with us upon our early arrival and allowed us to check-in and greeted us with a glass of champagne. I was very happy at this hotel and felt safe. Will definitely return again!! Also there was a water shortage going on, however the pressure in this hotel was not affected at all. Very very good service."
