"Lovely hotel in the heart of the old town near all major attractions. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Room was a little basic though and smelt a little damp"
"Acomodações antigas, com escadarias longas mas os predios do Pelourim sao assim mesmo, recepcionista simpaticos que nos receberam bem e nos deram dicas de segurança e locais para nos alimentar, no centro de tudo, bem na rua do pelô proximo ao elvador lacerda, praça do largo, de lojinhas, excelente localização."
"Beautiful boutique hotel in a converted colonial house. The staff were very friendly and gave great recommendations. The rooms were spacious and property itself was well preserved and perfectly styled. The location was perfect in the heart of the old town, and walkable to most places and an easy uber down to the beach. We’d recommend this hotel as a base to explore Salvador! "
"Absolutely perfect location, right in the cry of Pelourinho. This bustling location always felt safe (although we did make an effort to stay near where there were policemen and guards) and the neighborhood is full of interesting sights, restaurants and shops to explore.
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating, the rooms comfortable and stylish with a traditional colonial architecture of shiny dark wood and very high ceilings. We loved our visit, would love to return."
"Great place! Great deal. Clean, safe, nice breakfast, wonderful staff, hot water in shower, & smack in the heart of Pelhourino. So yes, be prepared for weekend music outside window until midnight & then some street noise. But was fine for me. (No elevator but staff help carry stuff upstairs.) I'd gladly stay again."
Atendimento maravilhoso indico e voltaria outras vezes"
"Amazing staff, beautifully decorated hotel with loads of local art. Breakfast was voluminous and reflected local traditions and offered many options. It was great to be able to sit outside on a verdant patio in the shade with a breeze.
Pool was beautiful. A/C room controllable.
The only thing that was not perfect was the clear evidence of mildew/mold on the edges of the shower and shower nozzles. It's very easy to clean with vinegar in my experience. Not sure how it is missed. My colleagues...
"This property is top of the line in every way, facilities, staffing, service is the best! I would rate it ahead of Four Seasons properties! It is expensive but worth every penny!!!"
"Estadia tranquila, cumpre o que promete. A recepção Nao achei taoo simpatica, no entanto, a equipe da cozinha valeu por toda a hospedagem..eles sao incríveis!!! Fiz questao de elogiar e agradecer o chefe de cozinha pessoalmente!!!"

The staff greeted us with a detailed overview of things to see and do in Pelorinho and a coupon for two free drinks at the rooftop bar. We went up there right away. Spectacular view over the harbor. Also from our room. Huge king bed and charming room with new bath, including an immense "shower for two," with a rain shower. Huge breakfast included. A great place. Driving there is somewhat hair-raising up and down tiny cobble-stoned streets and getting to the parking garage, through...
Hotel Villa Bahia is beautiful! It is an old mansion that's been renovated and turned into a hotel. We stayed in the "Cochin" room (all the rooms have names instead of numbers and come with old fashioned keys/locks that are most likely original). The room is basically a duplex suite. On the first floor, you walk into the sitting room with a tv, then there's the bedroom with an open air bathroom. Up the stairs on the second level, there is a private sundeck with a little bit of a view of the...
This Pousada is located in a nice well lit area that is steps away from restaurants, police station, bank and churches. Lots of other things like museums, more restaurants, cable cars etc are also walk away. The Pousada itself is small and cute with about less then 10 rooms, therefore, you get a more personalized service. It has breakfast available everyday for a very small fee and it is delivered to your room. Reagan one of the managers and Sandra one of the other staff members were absolutely...
Everything about this Pousada was great! I have to admit, perhaps my positive experience was amplified by the fact that I had just spent 7 horrible days at a gross hostel (yes, hostel, not hotel). But, Pousada da Mangueira definitely delivered! The manager, Claudio, was awesome. He had a car waiting for me at the airport. When I arrived, he was incredibly service oriented. Sylvia, the head housekeeper / cook / etc, was awesome. She was always around to help with anything I needed (a glass of...
2 noce, i obie w różnych pokojach.
Staff at the hostel are helpful and will help you get info to see the local sights. Salvador is a very nice city and as a female traveler, I felt safe in the Pelourinho area because there were police everywhere.

Amazing staff. Amazing property. Amazing restaurant. Not as close the the water as you might think as it’s in the upper city. Close to the historic old city which was the icing on the experience.
We are two U.S. citizens with a second home across the bay from Salvador. We have been observing, from the outside, progress that has been made in the refurbishment of this Art Deco hotel, so conveniently located in the historical heart of the city. Though the hotel is not entirely finished, it is already open to the public. We stayed there this last week and were very impressed by the great taste of the development team that has transformed this historic hotel to the 21st century. ...
