"I have stayed here many times in the past. We often stay closer to Alcala if we are traveling with people who want to shop and do sight seeing activities every day. But for a relaxing, stress free time in Oaxaca there is nothing like being a little separated from the bustling downtown, elevated above the city with panoramic views, a great bar, restaurant, room and pool service, and easy parking.

Casa Antonieta was incredible! If you have the chance to stay here, you should without question. The staff here was so attentive and helpful with arrangements and recommendations. Their response time to emails was some times nearly instantaneous and everything they recommended was top notch. The room was spacious and relaxing, and had a shower with great water pressure. Fantastic restaurants, coffee shops and Mezcalerias all within a few blocks. I look forward to staying at Casa Antonieta again...

A great stay in Oaxaca. The hotel is located on a quiet residential street, which was wonderful for peace and quiet. Check-in was smooth, complete with a complimentary welcome Mezcal. The room was cozy and the bed was incredibly comfortable for a restful night's sleep.

We had a wonderful stay and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Unfortunately, an eight-block area around the hotel had lost power majority of the day. The team handled the situation amazing hospitality despite not being able to control the power situation: they treated us to a tlayuda (like a Mexican pizza and quesadilla combined) and welcome drink, carried our bags upstairs, and the bar manager even arranged a mezcal tasting.

Our stay was perfect. The staff was extremely responsive, the rooms very comfortable and we were within walking distance of the Zocalo. We often walked back to Marialicia Suites at nighttime and never felt unsafe despite it being away from the action. In fact, we preferred this as there was never any street traffic that we could hear from our room. Unfortunately our room was over the garage and the metal doors upon opening and closing, made a lot of noise.
Also at 7 am water is delivered by truck and that was quite disturbing.
Overall, the staff was great and very friendly. On our last night, our flight was at night and they securely stored our luggage while we walked around for the day until it was time to head to the airport. There was an error in the type of vehicle to the airport because I had asked the night before to reserve a van that would fit a family of 6, but they were able to obtain 2 taxis fairly quickly for the same price we would’ve paid for the van. A wonderful stay. Behind an imposing black metal gate, a beautiful hideaway a short (5-10 minutes) walk from major attractions - with plenty of dining options in the immediate area. Was hesitate about the waterless toilets, but will assure you, a non issue! The material you place in the bowl after using the bathroom annihilates any lingering odor. I have dealt with much worse with water-base toilets. Follow the directions and you will be fine.As a woman traveling alone I feel extremely safe...

It was beautiful. Beyond our expectations. Great ambiance. Staff was on top of everything, super friendly and helpful. They truly made tis experience the best! While at the coffee bar, my 7 year old daughter wanted a milk chocolate drink that was not on the menu and the two young guys at the bar offered to make it. They truly make it special! Definitely recommend.
