Upon arrival was greeted by staff and shown the spacious room. Parking was easy, as was the use of the downstairs kitchen. The property was well maintained and there was a gorgeous flower garden off the main house. Breakfast was good and plenty. Location was perfect, as we had just visited Alton Towers and was also close to grocery stores.
Great stay in a very friendly country inn. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, the Guinness was great, the bed was really comfortable and I look forward to coming back. One note if you’re an American like me— don’t just ask Siri to get directions to the Dog & Partridge because apparently there’s a pub with that name in every village, lol. When I finally got to the right one, though, it was worth it!
We stayed 3 nights at the Kingscroft Guest House. Vol was very welcoming from the moment we walked in their front door. He was very detailed in explaining how everything worked in our room, as well as other features of the house. He often gave us tips for exploring and eating in the area. Beautiful quiet location with the most magnificent gardens. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom was exquisite. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely bed and breakfast and restaurant in a renovated arts and crafts public house. Dinner high quality and had many gluten free and vegan friendly options. Breakfast was included and tasty. All rooms are up a flight of stairs with no elevator, owing to the historic nature of the building. Great value for the price.
We stayed at The Cavendish Hotel on the Chatsworth Estate last October and loved the area and Chatsworth itself. The Devonshire Arms in Pilsey is also lovely, but more casual. We had a room in the farmhouse with a four poster bed and it was very comfortable. Note it sems every village in Derbyshire has a pub/inn called the Devonshire Arms so you DO need to specify Pilsey to get the correct one. Even more confusing there is another Devonshire Arms on the Chatsworth Estate at Beely which is...

The airline forgot our luggage and our hosts were most kind and helpful while getting things settled for the airline to deliver our bag.
The place was warm and inviting, and was well kept! Next door was a pub with delicious food as well and very convenient. We could not recommend this place enough!
We have no complaints on our stay, we only wished that it would’ve been for longer. Our room was extremely comfortable, breakfast was the best!

If you're seeking the quintessetial English county location, this is it. The scenery is beautiful. There is a wonderful pub and restaurant, where the food is actually exceptional. Our room was fantastic, clean and authentically English. Well-appointed with a comfortable 4-poster bed. The Bull Head Inn seems like a bit of a fairy tale, but is not at all contrived. Truly authentic English charm.
