L'Ardiden was an unexpected delight. It's perched above a river with great mountain views from the rooms and a small balcony. The room was plain, but clean and modern and the bathroom was quite clean and spacious. The location is near the thermal baths, a bit removed from Luz St. Sauveur; however, I preferred being away from the traffic in Luz. It's about a 10 minute walk into Luz. This is a great place to experience Luz, Gavarnie and other regional attractions.
This was an oasis in the Pyrenees. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location was excellent and within walking distance to anything in town one would want to do. Breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious, clean with a picturesque view on the street. The owners of the hotel have (unlike a fair amount of hotels in the Pyrenees we have visited) taken the time and effort to modernize the hotel with updates in elevators, WiFi, furniture and fixtures. Lovely house on the side of the hill. Just three rooms. We were very well fed and very well taken care of by the owner and her family. I loved being able to sit out and look at the mountains and hear the river down below.
Very hard to find though. Make an effort to be sure you have clear specific directions to the house before you arrive.

The first thing I have to mention is the excellent staff. Every one of them was polite, attentive and helpful and communicated well in spite of the language barrier. I didn’t speak a word of French but they did their best to communicate in English and they did a great job. Garden and City has lots of common spaces to hang around after a hard day of hiking. The owners and operators were extremely nice and patient with us. We struggled a bit with the language barrier, but it didn’t hold us back. The room was clean. Very quiet location. The food was great and the setting was quaint. We just stayed one night, but it was great. I definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area.

All hotels was fully booked in Pau, found this nice hotel in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Stayed for 5 nights. Basic but very clean rooms, good wi-fi and work desk allowed for effective work at the hotel.
Super clean and cozy apartment and very well equipped. The owners, a married couple, were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great as well. The whole place is cozy and friendly. Also close enough to the ski resort. Definitely will be coming back here! A lot of care has been put into this place. So glad we stayed here!
