Sue was great! Very attentive, and organized. Made sure that we were settled in properly. We even had a small refrigerator in our room! She thought of everything. Loved all of the flowers and plants in the front yard. Her home and rooms were lovely. Would definitely come back!
I only stayed for one night and therefore didn't have time to explore the surroundings fully. However, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable, the breakfast had everyyhing and more you could expect . The location is excellent and I would certainly consider using it as a base for any furture planned visits in and around the Keswick area.
The staff was so helpful and so funny! The room was well small-ish but perfectly comfortable and the window opened for a nice breeze in the evening. The meals were very nice and the location/surroundings are beautiful!
Another excellent dog friendly stay at the Gateway. Staff were welcoming to us and our dogs (they weren't just tolerated). Our room was lovely, perfect temperature (we stayed September), decorated smartly and cleaned well with thoughtful extras like pillow chocolates. The English Lakes toiletries in the bathroom were luxurious and the bed comfortable. We didn't have breakfast this time due to plans but the evening meals were absolutely gorgeous as always. This is a beautiful and cozy house, aged but well maintained. The host is really kind and nice. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, breakfast is fantastic. Kids love to play with the dog. Everything is wonderful, highly recommended.
Dale was a tremendous help in securing a dinner for us.
He gave great instructions on the hike from the hotel too.

Nice hotel located in the middle of Grassmere. The room was clean, spacious with a great soaking tub and nice window views. There's a nice seating area downstairs that converts to a breakfast room in the morning. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were all friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions and things to do in the area.
Very nice stay at Lake House. Short walk to the water and walkable to all Ambleside restaurants and shops. Our room was large and very comfortable with a great view of the lake!
We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Manor. The hosts were great and offered advice on dining in the local area and walking directions to the town. We spent most of our time traveling the area and did not eat in the restaurant. The room was a little on the small side and the hot weather required a fan in the room which did not add to the comfort. Otherwise all good and worth a visit
