"Part of the charm of this place is that it is over 115 years. In spite of that, the room was comfortable as was the bed. It was clean, the bathroom was adequate, and the balcony was a nice touch. The place was very charming and our hostess, Linda, was very gracious. Because it was the holidays, the place was decorated to the hilt. If you were going to make a romantic Christmas movie this would have been the perfect setting. Cloudcroft is a cute little mountain town and the only thing lacking would have been more snow. This was my few experiences with a bed and breakfast and probably my best one. It seemed like I might have been visiting a distant relative who was going all out to make my visit go well. The highlight of our stay was meeting the other guess, one family who were from Texas via China and the other was a couple from Monterrey Mexico. Sitting around the dining tables we very easily fell into a nice camaraderie and maybe it was the magic of the holiday season but it seemed like we had a nice bonding experience. The building because of its age probably doesn't have a level floor in the place but that just seemed to add to the charm of it. The sound isolation was was pretty good so we were not bothered by the presence of other people. It was a short
walk to the main Street which is mostly geared towards tourists. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby and even just driving around this historic town was entertaining. Linda made sure that we we're well fed."
