We really enjoyed our stay at the Topside Inn. Overall it was a great experience with one caveat. The property itself is in a really great location and provides stunning views. The staff was attentive and the breakfast spread was really good. The carrot cake pancakes may have been the best pancakes I’ve ever had!
The only issue we encountered was the room definitely had a damp smell to it right when we got there. We got used to it but it did take a bit away from our stay.
We stayed there as a last minute added night on our Maine trip late August. The location and views were amazing and Jersey is a hoot. He gives the orientation tour at check in and is very accommodating. The space is beautiful and our room was comfortable and spotless. We liked the community kitchen concept and would appreciate that next time if we stayed more to an a night. I would highly recommend this Inn and its sister property. Very relaxing vibes.
Everything about our stay was wonderful, from the accommodations to the friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Just minutes from the quaint fishing village of Boothbay harbor with its numerous shops and restaurants, you couldn't ask for a better place to really appreciate all the charm Maine has to offer. The resort itself features kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing off the pier and for the adventurous, they offer free sailing lessons on their own fleet of boats. There is a restaurant on...
The hotel faces west onto the bay with spectacular views of the water and especially sunsets. We stayed in a building off the main hotel which had four mini-suites, each with its own entrance and small porch looking at the water. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was a short walk to the hotel where there were two restaurants, both of which were excellent. The dock is just at the base of the hill and you can kayak, do paddle boarding, swim in the pool, or just sit and watch the...
The property is centrally located
The only downfalls are that parking can be tough unless someone is patrolling the parking lot. Too many people not staying at the property use the parking lot. And the electric lines and other power lines are too low which distorts the views from some rooms. The staff is great and the tavern food is delicious. A great stay overall.
This little gem is set un an idyllic setting overlooking the harbour. We had a wonderful room right on the water. It was clean and comfortable. The welcome we got from the lady on the front desk was warm and friendly. She was very helpful and engaging.
All in all we loved it here, would definitely go back.
Steve, the Innkeeper was most welcoming to his impeccable old house inn. He extended his genuinely gracious warmth to each person with typical NE polite restraint.
The breakfast was simple with hot beverages and homemade banana bread. Each guest room had access to the mini kitchen w/ refrig in large but cozy dining area. The lovely garden was delightfully welcoming, homey and unpretentious.
You could not go wrong staying at Hawks House Inn.
Great stay. I wish we had more time to enjoy the facilities and the many activities. Set in a beautiful location. The views from the balcony were terrific. I especially enjoyed the way the balconies were configured which offered a maximum amount of scenery with a maximum amount of privacy. Made for relaxing, peaceful mornings reading my book and enjoying my coffee.
We loved the view, along with the kindness and attentiveness of all who worked there. The location was great and made it easy to get to other places of interest in the area, great restaurants, botannical gardens, etc.
A little slice of Heaven tucked away on a most peaceful and natural setting as can be imagined! Walking the grounds or exploring the natural bounty of the island can"t be more cathartic than this. Extremely comfortable beds and very clean rooms leave little to be desired if you are looking for that non plugged in experience. The stars at nite are what's showing and there is no intermission!!Chef Mario and crew are top notch , I've worked at the Ritz, and they perform w/o a hitch!
Wish I had...
Stayed at the inn for a night while heading to Acadia. The pool was well kept with a garden.
They are renovating some parts of the inn which looks great. The room was spacious and clean.
