Amazing place. The guest houses are within the actual vineyard. You feel connected to the vineyard and working farm. The staff is also amazing and friendly. Definitely try the pizza restaurant that is located on the property.
The estate is perfectly situated in the middle of vineyards and orchards. We had a beautiful view of the mountains from our stoep which also faced a pergola with picnic table and pool. We enjoyed panoramic views of the mountain ranges during our walks around the farm on days when we weren't hiking or visiting nearby wine estates. Babylonstoren was one of the best experiences we've ever had. The service is exceptional and the surrounding areas breathtaking. We felt immediately relaxed when we arrived. Excellent location - walk to all major sites in Stellenbosch and around the Univeristy. Perfectly situated for doing the vineyards of both Sellenbosch and Franschhoek by car. Many good restaurants out the front door - but don't need to wonder far when Helena's is inside this boutique inn. I highly recommend it. An easy relatively short drive from Cape Town.
