We needed a room for one night. It was very nice. Good rates, very comfortable beds, and close to everything. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The free breakfast was very good. The bar had 2 for 1 drinks. I would recommend this motel to other travelers.
My husband and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary at Lefevre Inn and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The resort is small (only 11 rooms and a few cabins), so it is quiet and low-key. The location is wonderfully removed from downtown Galena, but still close enough to everything to make day trips easy and relaxed. Our room was perfectly located, on the second floor facing the woods and overlooking the pool. This room was truly the most peaceful place I have ever stayed!

Beautiful old building, redone in contemporary style. Very comfortable and clean. Outdoor area has a private New Orleans courtyard vibe. Great location-we parked the car and walked to everything we wanted to do.
the breakfasts were amazing. Carol and Kate were great hosts. My wife and I only had one complaint, that was the bed was way too soft. This is obviously personal preference. We would definitely stay here again. Galenda is an historical town with a lot of charm. We loved our trip. The Steamboat House was a great place to stay. Thanks Carol and Kate.
Quaint and out-of-the-way, very unexpected from what I thought it was going to be like, but in a great way. It felt very secluded (maybe because we drove in at night during a Severe Thunderstorm) and private, which led to the fun and adventure of family vacation! Although the rooms and bathrooms are dated - updated as well as they can be within the footprint of the layout - everything was super clean! My husband even noted how clean the grout was in the bathroom, which is something rarely seen...

This was our first time staying at Aldrich Guest House, but we will definitely be back. Our hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious! A short walk to the shops, the location was perfect. We really enjoyed our last minute getaway stay.
The place looks like a fantasy, a castle in Illinois, each room different, unusual, charming. Most charming: the owners, who very sincerely want their guests to love the place. Our room was huge, with a gigantic spa bath and a fireplace; our dog was welcome (for a fee); the breakfasts were stunningly good (included in the room price); the grounds are lovely; the area is fun, pretty and interesting.
