This castle was lovingly remodeled in the 1980s to be as historic as possible yet with modern features (bathrooms, electricity). It’s the real experience and Nicola, the current owner, takes great pride in its history! She also serves a wonderful breakfast in the old kitchen castle. Definitely a lovely experience. Our room was huge and bed was comfortable. You are also surrounded by Leslie history if that clan is your family history roots.

A lovely hotel with delicious food and a beautiful, peaceful setting. You should stay here. We stayed in a little stone cottage separate from the hotel an easy 5-minute walk up the hill. It used to be the dog kennels. In fact, the low stone walls topped with iron fencing that served as the two outside pens of the kennel are still there, as are the doggie doors -- tho’ these are firmly closed.
