My great grandfather was born in the very small town of Aquara and, in planning our trip from the USA to Italy, we were looking for a peaceful, welcoming spot to stay while we paid a short visit to the city. The staff was terrifically accommodating and the property was beautiful. There is a restaurant, small bar and pool on site as well as short walking trail, hammocks and, since they are up on a hill, beautiful views of the valley below Aquara.
We attended a wedding in Capaccio. The bride and groom suggested this hotel. It is so tastefully done. Even though it is only about 10 years old it appears authentic. The restaurant was superb and the proprietor and staff were exceptional with their caring. It is a family operation and they are charming. Beautiful place! Enjoyed the room, the farm and the hospitable staff. Their fresh buffalo mozzarella is incredible!!
The only negative was the sound from the kitchen below at night, likely making the fabulous mozzarella. However, would not hesitate to return.

This is the second time I’ve been back to this property. The owner is a lovely man. The breakfast is excellent. You can open a bottle of wine and enjoy it in the beautiful garden.
If you want a true Italian family experience then a stay at BnB La Mortella is the answer. We considered staying in Paestum to be close to the great temples but knowing that La Mortella was only 20 minutes away convinced us to try something different during our Italia tour. The BnB was a bit hard to find but once we were there it was worth seeking. Antonio and his family also work the land with citrus and olive groves dominating the landscape. The rooms were plain but good sized. The pool looked inviting although we didn’t use it. The grounds were nice to stroll on. I strongly suggest eating at the in house restaurant. It was excellent.
Wonderful, charming place to stay. Luigi, the proprietor, and his daughter, Rita (the Rita is her grandmother), are such wonderful people - you will love them and the great atmosphere at this beautifully appointed B&B/hotel. Walking distance to the archaeological site, which is one of the best you'll see. Features the Diver's Tomb, the only intact Greek tomb. Hooray for Villa Rita - a wonderful find!
Elia and his wife are great hosts. Place is 5+ stars with beautiful view and sunrise. Breakfast is organic and my wife is special thankful for their care for her diet restriction. We would come here whenever we are in this area.
