Rooms were neat and cozy. Loved the faux wood stove. Bed was comfortable but pillows were a bit too big for my taste. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner, but otherwise a very pleasant experience. Would definitely stay again and also would recommend
Its a rustic room. It was clean and had ample room. It’s self check-in so I had no personal conversations with staff. The other guests seemed very nice. Yes, there are little things but we really enjoyed the time there. It’s quiet and easy to relax. We used it as a base camp for trips to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks
This is a perfect log cabin type of property up in the heart of Sequoia. One can drive to the nearby hiking trails and go hiking all day. A great breakfast included in the morning, a big batch of scrambled eggs, tons of bacon, fried potatoes, fruit bar, cereal, yogurt, cream cheese, breads, etc. You can walk down to Stony Creek after breakfast and go swimming, a wonderful brisk temp and then lay on a rock in the sun as it shines through the trees. hike all day and come back and get in the creek...
Amazing weekend, amazing and thoughtful hosts, lovely rooms, great breakfast, great location as long as you don't mind a lot of windy ups and downs to get there. Shaver Lake is like a mini-Lake Tahoe, very calm and relaxing. The town is rustic, friendly and small but has everything you need.
Easy check in process, room was great ! Room 14 the Queen Suite has a lot of room , cool skylight above the bed and was insulated very well. If you like the historic hotel experience I highly recommend it. Idk why people say the hot water doesn’t work, it was boiling hot the moment we turned it on. No issues at all to complain about (:
Perhaps it was the nostalgia of summer camp as a girl but I was pleasantly surprised with the Montecito. Based on some reviews I was a little apprehensive to book here but I'm really glad we did, I would absolutely stay here again.
