"The motel is older and our room showed it a bit, but it also had everything we needed and was very clean. The whimsical camping decor in the room was better than the usual generic motel "artwork. " But the best part was the balcony with the sweeping view of the beach. Wonderful! The pool looked nice, although we didn't use it. The breakfast was basic but appreciated. The only tiny gripe we had was that the coffee in the room, and at breakfast, wasn't that good. Wish they would up their coffee game a little, but still I would stay there again."

"This hotel is older and can use an remodel. You can tell they're working on it slowly but the pool was what really stood out. It's an outdoor pool that is obviously not being used or maintained. It just sits there full of green water. The view of the bay from our room was amazing but every picture was ruined by the green pool. Our TV didn't work at first but the man working the front counter came up to our room and fixed it. This place was about half the price of anywhere in Yachats so I pretty much got what I paid for. I would probably stay there again. The location is great!"

"My little weekend getaway was made perfect because i have picked to stay in this little coastal gem. The staff was very friendly, and they keep this motel clean. It cannot be compared to big chain hotels because this building is older and it shows wear of typical property battered by coastal weather. What makes it much better is the feel of home away from home. Our room had everything we needed - microwave, coffee maker, TV, refrigerator, comfortable bed and shower with surprisingly strong water pressure. They welcomed our dog, we enjoyed sitting on the huge back patio in their adirondack chairs overlooking large grassy field leading to steps to get to the beach. There was always fresh coffee in the office and friendly chatter."

"The only things that kept me from giving this property a perfect 10 were cramped parking and thin walls. The noise level between rooms is excessive. I should have expected this when I saw the hotel provided ear plugs on the night stand"

"We were delighted with our stay at the Fireside. Loved sitting on our couch facing the ocean, listening to surf crashing during the night, and being close to the 804 trail for a nice walk along the beach. Our room was clean and spacious, and we were even able to pick out a free movie in the lobby to watch."
