We loved staying at Mikansei! Our room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed ourselves in the shared spaces, including the kitchen, bathrooms, and communal areas. AMAZING STAY! Run by a very cute and welcoming family. They are the 6th generation to run a Ryokan here in this 300 year old building. They are excellent hosts. This is an absolute gem! Gorgeous rooms with top notch amenities. We used there complimentary bikes and bikes all around the small town. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The onsen is complimentary with your stay. Great service, such a treat!
When I arrived I was greeted by a very sweet old lady and man. They showed me to my room with so much kindness. I could feel the love. My room has strong air conditioning (very important during summer) I was served an incredible dinner in a private room and I enjoyed a bath. Amazing stay at Kakurinbo, the vegetarian food was succulent. The staff is friendly and so helpful, you feel like you’re part of their family. The 550 years old building is in pristine condition.
The room is bigger than I expected and is pretty comfortable. I love that they provide free noodles at night, free probiotics drink in the morning and free ice cream from 3 pm to 1 am. There is a public bath on the top floor, which looks very clean and nice but I didn’t use. The hotel is about .4 miles from Kakegawa station and is a good place to stay for going to an event at Ecopa stadium/arena.
