This is exactly the sort of experience I seek when visiting the UK. It's an "only in England" experience. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left I was absolutely enraptured. The proprietors ran out to greet me to show me a better, safer place to park my motorcycle. They checked me in, showed me to my room, and have me the rundown on local dining options. In almost all ways, the stay was excellent. The room was large and furnished will all necessary amenities. The bath and bedroom appeared to be recently renovated to a very high quality. The food and service in the restaurant was also excellent. The only problem arose with the outside noise level between 10:30 and 11 pm, as a large group congregated for a long goodbye as they slowly exited the restaurant below the room. While the noise was quite loud, it was fortunately not long-lived.
