The Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta opened in 1873 and still has the look of an older era-- but with all necessary updates for comfort. The staff was helpful, the room was comfortable, breakfast was delightful (would have liked to have it outside, but some noisy construction was currently going on), and the hotel feels like it's at the center of things with its location on Piazza Unita' d'Italia. Alas, we only had a day, but I would happily return.

I was very happy with my stay; the service was great, in particular one man at reception whose name began with a T (sorry I didn't get his full name). He was truly exceptional in offering ideas of things to do, how to get places, and really went out of his way to help. The breakfast was great as well, with great service there as well. The room itself was a little small, but fine and clean and comfortable bed. It had an accessible bathroom, with shower in the middle of the room for those who...

This hotel is a short walk from train station. We found it by asking passersby for directions, but it would have been better had we Googled the directions ahead of time. When you come to the front of the building, it doesn't look to nice, and the lobby is very dark and somewhat smelly. However, the hotel itself is up the first flight of stairs and its light and bright. Room was large and comfortable. Two restrooms were shared, but we never had to wait to use them. They were quite large, too....
