Now this was totally unexpected. I am originally from Pernitz, about 20 or so km from Wiener Neustadt, but live in Los Angeles. On this trip from the USA to Austria we were visiting friends in Ljubljana, and after arriving in Vienna we had planned to spend the night in Wiener Neustadt instead of Vienna to cut the trip to Ljubljana the next day shorter. Only 10 minute walk from train station to the hotel which is the Old City. Hotel is the oldest in the city, built in 1893 and had been completely renovated. Our room was immaculate with a parlor decorated with antique furniture. Great buffet breakfast in the ballroom dining room. The hotel is surrounded by many good restaurants and a few minutes walk to the main attractions. The staff is very cordial and helpful. Excellent value!!
The rooms and hotel were very clean. It is a beautifully renovated old farm house from the 1800's. The only downside is that there is no air-conditioning so be prepared for that. There is a fan in the room that is good. The beds are very comfortable. It is dog friendly! There are lots of bicyclists that stay here and the people are very friendly. they have an ice machine and a nice coffee machine.
I spent one night at the Civitas Boutique Hotel. It is very conveniently located about a ten minute walk from the train station and at the edge of the old city center. My room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet and overall an excellent value for the price. The staff was pleasant and professional. The breakfast was particularly good, with all items very fresh and well prepared.
Very nice, family-run pensjonat in a small village. Simple, but very pleasant and quiet. The whole staff was extremely helpful.
The village itself is small and doesn't have too many (and easy to find) grocery stores/supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants, but nice places are in Rust, a village 5 km away.
