5 star review, but... It turns out that this hotel is still being built. When we got there, the hotel was not built yet, only the walls. The manager came out to greet us right away and apologized. He said that the hotel was supposed to be built but they had an issue with the contractors. As compensation for the inconvenience, the hotel manager automatically booked us in a 5-star hotel right next door, offered us free tickets to the bath springs next door, and also paid for our din we at the...

We got there just as a winter storm was coming up, and the staff were very kind to check us in 3 hours before our check-in time. The apartment was fantastic. I travelled with 4 family members, and there was plenty of space for us all. Beds are really nice and comfortable. Apartment was clean. And the price was fantastic as well, all the other hotels in the area are VERY expensive. And this was an apartment with akitchen and all!! This is a great option for a large group. Would definitely stay...

The room was quiet with a spacious private bathroom. Towels and sheets were clean, shampoo and conditioner were included, and it was a nice quiet area. Room was overall great and have no complaints there!
Dinner was also delicious! Got the burger and it tasted just like back home. Fries were also seasoned nicely!

Hotel Laxa is not only beautiful (kudos to the designer who make you feel like you are part of the volcanic landscape), its location serves as a great jumping off point for a day of taking in the sights around Myvatn. We arrived from Eglissadir, after stopping at the Mytvan Nature Baths on our way into town. After a fantastic breakfast of eggs, bacon, waffles and a buffet of fresh fruits and vegetables, we spent the next 6 hours taking in all that Myvatn had to offer. I would definitely return...
The property itself is really lovely, however the ceiling to floor room windows were amazing. The aurora came to life and we were able to watch it from the comfort of our room. Once in a lifetime amazing experience.
Unfortunately, we were unable to stay at the cottages due to water damage caused by the weather. The owner contacted us and got us set up with a house nearby. Very good communication.
