Celtic Royal Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"I'd give 5 stars however, we had rude customer service in the bar area, the room was not very functional, and there were very few amenities - no shampoo nor soap for the shower. The bathroom sink handles were difficult to crank to turn the water on. Then, to turn the water off, you had to use your clean fingers to touch the dirty handles and crank them a bunch to shut the water off....Anyone see a problem here? Not functional. The bathroom was large however it needed another towel rack and more than 1 hand towel. There was nowhere to set our toiletries; good thing I did not have makeup to apply. Not functional. The soap dispenser was VERY impractical - it wasted soap and you couldn't tell how much soap was left. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was decent....Not ideal for someone with food allergies, though, as it's a buffet. It was VERY loud in the dining area - we were there for Monday and Tuesday breakfasts. The evening front desk person was very nice. The complementary cookies were so stale, even though they were not expired per the packaging. Dinner is only served til 8:30pm (and by reservation) so coming back late from sight seeing and needing dinner did not bode well for us. Insert the poor service in the bar area."

Dinorben Arms Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The portion sizes were very generous and the food delicious- would highly recommend you eat here if you’re staying, and the breakfast is equally massive. The staff are lovely and I was greeted by name in the morning (which I’ve never had in a stay anywhere, especially as I’ve an unusual name) which made me feel welcome. Lounge is full of friendly locals and visitors; a good mix. My only gripes was there weren’t many types of cider on tap, but I found that fairly typical for the area, and the cold river isn’t bad(!) and a spontaneous group booking of passing motorbikers made the Friday night stay/breakfast noisy but that wasn’t the owner’s fault. Parking is easy in a massive free car park."
Ty Glyndwr Hotel Bangor
8/10 Good
"Convenient location, parking can be a challenge for big cars. Room 3, lovely clean bed, functional bathroom, water pressure for the shower's not brilliant but workable. Air con unit outside window (not for the bedroom!) Hotel by busy intersection of roads and crossings. Keep your door key in the lock. Code for entrance door and key drop on leaving. Good vfm for overnight stop."

"Fantastic place the only downer was that the meal l chose wad unavailable and so l went with the same potion as my wife, rolled rib eye, and to be cooked the same, medium rare. I found mine rather dry and yet my wife's was cooked as she asked Anthony was"
