Hotel Los Lagos Spa & Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Location & Property: The hotel is located between the town of La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano National Park. It is well connected and right next to the main road, making it easy to get around by car. The property is a large resort consisting of several buildings surrounded by gardens, which gives the whole place a welcoming and pleasant feel. Room: Our room was spacious and bright, located on the ground floor of one of the buildings. It looked new and very well maintained. It was clean, and the beds were large and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and functional, with a shower and basic toiletries. Breakfast: Breakfast was served in a large restaurant and was excellent, with plenty of choices, both hot and cold. The quality of the food and drinks was probably the best we experienced during our entire trip around Costa Rica. Facilities & Surroundings: What really made me wish I could give this hotel six stars, though, were the thermal pools. There are around a dozen pools, with different temperatures ranging from hot to cool, so there is something for everyone. Our kid had a blast going down the water slides, while my husband enjoyed a piña colada at the bar inside one of the pools. And the views were amazing: from the pools, we could see Arenal Volcano, including its crater and fumaroles. Overall: In short, this is an extraordinary place to stay. It feels much more like an experience in itself than simply a hotel stay."
Chachagua Rainforest Hotel & Hot Springs
10/10 Excellent
"The place is nice Is pretty cool you in the middle of the rainforest. We love the place only thing is I wish they had more lights, it gets pretty dark at night not enough light."
Casa Luna Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Our best stay while in Costa Rica. Big breakfast buffet, six pools (one big one, one small one, and 4 semi-private pools), tons of birds hanging out in the beautiful landscaping, close to La Fortuna waterfall, rustic but comfortable rooms with big balconies, good off-street parking, WiFi worked fine. Mini-bar was a little expensive, but what hotel's isn't? Staff were a little stiff, and they shut off the AC in our room when we were gone for the day, but other than that, pretty fantastic."
Volcano Lodge Hotel & Thermal Experience
10/10 Excellent
"Second time staying here, first time with our 18 month old son. The thermal rooms were perfect for relaxing while he was napping or after he fell asleep and he had a lot of fun in the kid pool."

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious with good portions. Room was clean but a little on the small side for a family of four. Games and books available to use between activities or on rainy days. Lots of dining options within walking distance."
Hotel Lomas del Volcán

"The rooms were very nice and excursions were easy to book and convenient! Only thing I wish was more food options and dining halls!"
