On a pleasant quiet side street but just a few blocks away from Santa Fe street made our stay very pleasant the staff was courteous and helpful. And being small we didn’t have to waste time walking thru large lobbies. With only a few rooms per floor there were no long hallways.
We stayed at the Tango de Mayo Hotel on the backend of a multi-week trip to Argentina, right before heading home. After staying at a larger hotel closer to the Casa Rosada at the beginning of the trip, and then staying at several much smaller boutique hotels in Uruguay, the Tango de Mayo felt like is struck just the right balance between character and convenience. Great location with a lot of bars and restaurants around including local tango schools. The room are nicely don and very comfortable. They key 5 star difference is all about service. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this one provided the best service ever from arranging airport and ferry transfers, reservations, tickets to local events, wake up calls and preparing to go breakfasts when we left before breakfast was served. Stayed here for a week and loved it! Comfortable bed, restaurant open late and very fast internet! The breakfast buffet was tasty and made it very convenient to make it out the door on time. Great front desk staff- restaurant staff a little more curt, but effective and polite. Good food, hot water and food water pressure. Oh! And the black out curtains are the real deal!
