I chose the Hôtel Les Grillons based on nothing more than a quick web search and ratings. Always risky but it seemed like a good bet.
I couldn't have been happier. The room was very nice, the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and the food?!!! Wow, reason enough to stay there.
I can't wait to go back again and soon.
Conveniently located from the train station and in a pleasant, quiet area. Our room was particularly quiet, and we found it very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the coffee machine was most welcome.
The location was perfect -away from the congestion and noise of town with an amazing view. It is also right off bike path and the bike rental on property was key. The staff was so amazing!
Beautiful Chateaux. Rooms and updated with beautiful decoration. We had a Junior Suite, which was quite large and had many windows. Very pleasant. The only down-side was the shower arrangement. No enclosed shower area, only a Tub on top of which the spray shower can be attached. As a result all of the water ended up on the floor! Also the faucets could use an update, as they sprayed in a jet like fashion causing the water to splash all over. There was no A/C, but fortunately during our stay...
Everyone at the hotel was very helpful, especially Anton in Reception. The grounds were in pristine condition. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner did whatever they could to please us: Pasquale at dinner and the young woman who served at breakfast were especially memorable. We were surprised and delighted with our stay at the Palace. The one thing they could not control was the weather. It was rainy three of the four days we were there but the sunset at dinner our first night...
This property is in a perfect location for accessing all of le Vieux Annecy! The breakfast is good and offers assorted breads, cheeses, salami, eggs, dried fruit, yogurt, juices, coffee, and cereal. The parking is a little tight, and I recommend reserving a place in advance if your stay. The staff are very kind and helpful. I will stay here again, for sure!
