Loved this place. Gorgeous little pub with large rooms in separate annex. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating, rooms were beautiful, clean and cosy and food (we had dinner and breakfast) was delicious. Highly recommend for anyone staying in or around Newmarket area.
Excellent One night stopover whilst visiting for an event in the area , I arrived at 8 pm & ordered a very well kept local Ale , A Sirloin steak which was delicious washed down with an excellent merlot .
The annexed accommodation was spacious and very comfortable with luxurious bedding , The ensuite bathroom was very well laid out with a huge shower that was excellent .
Breakfast was delicious and was cooked by the charming owner.

Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast! Great location but no parking because it’s an old historic building. Room was spacious with a huge clawfoot bath and walk-in shower. Room was not warm enough for us (winter) but the fan heater helped. We enjoyed the stay

I've been to 62 countries and this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The room was very comfortable, modern, and clean, and also quiet with great air conditioning. The location is also great, it's just 90-second walk from the main road with all of the colleges, shops, and restaurants.

We like the location as we can park at north station (for a fee - £16 for the weekend) which is right next to the hotel, and jump on the train into the city centre. Well maintained, new hotel, with spacious rooms and nice bathrooms. Nice staff. Small pool, gym, and sauna (which can get busy) and a really good breakfast buffet. Will return, outside of school holidays to make better use of the wellness facilities.
Excellent modern property. Not real easy to get to reception area if you’re driving. A bit confusing when you pull up and it’s a busy corner to be confused.
The Packhorse Inn was a very pleasant inn to stay at for my business trip! The room itself was well air conditioned and the amenities were very comfortable. Any extras needed such as ironing board, etc were readily available from the staff. Had breakfast and supper multiple evenings of my trip and always enjoyed them throughly.
