We were greeted warmly and taken to the bar to order drinks and a small snack around 5 pm which was served to us in the garden.
The guest room and bathroom were clean and of good quality.
Dinner at 8 pm was extremely delicious and served with a smile.
This property is a gem in the beautiful countryside and easy to get to despite quite heavy traffic in the surrounding area....
Great place to stay but you need a car to go to nearby places of interest. Due to "covid" the management have used what used to be the car park in front of the Pub with outside seating leaving only space for 1 car. There is however no parking restrictions along the section of road it is in. It only has 4 rooms and we got room number 4, it has obviously been recently refurbished and was very nice. Had a decent size toilet/ sink / shower room. not a problem for us but if you can not climb...
The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good.
