After a 10 hour flight from SFO and a nightmare experience at Heathrow Airport (5 hours on the tarmac, followed by 3 hours at customs/baggage hall - only to be told at 10pm to leave without our luggage) we arrived at Wroxton House Hotel and were warmly welcomed by Tina at 11:30pm. She kindly opened the bar and offered to make us fresh sandwiches since we last ate at breakfast.
The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and the location is excellent - a beautiful village only 3 miles from the M40 with...
The rooms are fairly small, but this is to be expected in such an old building. Spotlessly clean, good supplies of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits provided too. High quality linens.
The pub itself serves good quality beer (Wadworth's and associates), and the home cooked food was also great and healthy(ish).
Breakfast was hearty, with a good choice of options.
Staff couldn't help enough... Just about perfect really!
The Castle at Edgehill is well kept, clean, comfortable and in a great location for exploring Banbury, Stratford and Warwick. We stayed in the Astley room and were extremely pleased with the comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and hot shower. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and we enjoyed being able to sit in the pub a couple of evenings, or in the garden, and enjoy the amazing views out over Edgehill and the freshly cut corn fields.Staff were friendly and helpful. We definitely...
We absolutely loved our stay - the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful.
Breakfast was great, lots of options. We enjoyed all the food we ate there, great variety on the menu and fresh tasting food.
We booked to stay here during the British Grand Prix and thought it was excellent value for money. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and seem recently renovated. Our room was up lots of stairs - this wasn’t a problem for us but worth considering your luggage.
Highly recommend!
What was obviously a somewhat tired hotel in the not too distant past has had its rear and 'more modern' (compared to the original) accommodation thoroughly modernised to a very pleasingly high standard. The twin room we stayed in was comfortably spacious compared to other budget-medium price places we've stayed in, with all the amenities we needed and spotlessly clean. No noise at all with sounds from other guests above/below/or close by. Buffet breakfast (incl. cooked) was amazing - nothing...
The stay at the Howard Arms was excellent. Tim and Joe made it even better with their humor, hospitality and charm. The food was chef’s kiss good. I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.👏 😊
We had a great stay here fabulous hotel but the food was not up to the standard of hotel pretty basic really if I’m honest.
Brealoat both restaurants were ok nothing special and evening meal on both night just fine nothing special
Beautiful location in the countryside, in a sweet town that was fun to walk around and enjoy the peacefulness. Breakfast was great, and the staff were all very friendly.
We three ladies enjoyed our very comfortable stay here and couldn’t have been happier with the staff, their kindness and hospitality was above and beyond. Breakfast was great too.
