As our taxi dropped us off we were warmly greeted by gracious staff. The hotel is immaculate and gorgeous. Our room was modern and beautiful with anything one could need, including a Dyson hair dryer. We returned after dinner to a turned down bed and a pillow menu, should we want a different pillow. The ones provided however were perfect. I had an amazing restorative sleep. Breakfast was lovely and made to order. This is a wonderful inn with a fantastic breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful and the place is beautiful— and right across the street from the castle. Excellent restaurant associated with the hotel too, just down the street.

Lydia is a small, modern boutique hotel in the middle of Tartu close to all the attractions of this great little city. Room was well furnished with all the comforts and amenities of any 5 star hotel. Hotel restaurant is first class and patronized by the locals, so advance reservations recommended. Hotel is across the street from the city center plaza and close to the university. Highly recommend this hotel.

Immediately opposite the university’s historic main building. Ambience and décor are a great match for its location. Our bathroom was especially unique with original marble floors in excellent condition and a great view of the floodlight historic building across the street. Supposedly hosts Tartu’s best restaurant but the frilly décor and basement location was not to our taste so we ate elsewhere. However, breakfast buffet in the same location was excellent. Ammende Villa is a legend. It has never failed my expectations - wonderful historic building, superb staff and gourmet restaurant - all of this at a price that makes you think of moving in full-time.

Kristi, the Head Concierge, is the best! I needed to make floral arrangements for a funeral on a Sunday when all shops were closed- and Kristi was able to leverage her contacts to get a beautiful bouquet to the service. She will never know how much this simple gesture meant to me and my family, but she delivered when needed most. This is definitely the hotel in Tallinn in which to stay!

This was the best hotel on our Baltic Sea trip! The rooms were comfortable and huge for European standards. The beds were actually soft and the place was super clean. It's an easy short walk to old town. I couldn't recommend the place enough!

Excellent location, literally few steps from beach. Didn't fell crowded, although was fully booked. Good breakfast. Restaurant a bit pricey but food is good.
