Exterior del edificio con caracter, interior más impersonal pero en la medida de lo que cabe esperar de la categoría del hotel. El personal educado, amable y profesional aunque, como en general en Gran Bretaña, solo los extrajeros […] empleados en el hotel hablarán algún idioma aparte de inglés. Hotel very close to Waverley Station - you can easily walk there. Just booked a standard room but it had a sofa and a huge bed (we have a kingsize at home but this was much bigger) and the bathroom was nice with big deep bath and separate large walk in shower. Lots of hair in the plug hole though which put me off a bit but OH despatched to get rid of […] that and then all OK. Didn't have breakfast included so had continental breakfast in hotel one day, used the cafe on the corner another day and went along the Royal Mile the other days. All fine - you don't need to have breakfast in the hotel - I think it was about £15 - as there are lots of other places to go - but if you want a full cooked breakfast a waitress took your order and served it to you so it wasn't all on view on a hotplate which puts some people off - and it looked good. OH had a massage in Spa and tried the steam room and sauna and said it was good (He got 20% off massage on Wed and Thurs) but weather was bright and dry so we went out and about every day and were too tired to use the pool when we got back. Exactly what you would want to experience in a 4* hotel. Helpful, friendly staff, good food, high quality surroundings. As a picky person I was impressed. Only things I could fault were a cold puddle of water at the bottom of the pool steps and when taking the stairs, a radical contrast in decor to the main hotel - basic!!

fantastic hotel. we've stayed at this hotel in 2009. that was a higher rate. this time it was lower so we got smaller bathroom. the heating was not working so they've put additional heating into the room when asked. still very good though. so 5 stars. never used SPA or pools as we stayed 2 days. so no comment on that.

this hotel was good. my only complaint was the breakfast and the service given at breakfast. we had paid a lot extra for breakfast and it was not worth the money at all.

This is one of the best hotels I stayed in. Our room was great. The service was great from early start when we showed up by front desk. Fitness facilities were good as well as business center. Complimentary WiFi had great speeds and availability. But most importantly, hotel located within 4-5 minutes of all main shopping, sightseeing areas, and Christmas […] festival area. And at the same time, it is nice and quiet with no crowds next to the hotel. Absolutely loved it!!! If I am ever to go back to Edinburgh (which I am planning to do), there is only one hotel I will be looking at and it will be this Apex Waterloo. Leer más

Very smart and well equipt hotel. Complimentary Wi-Fi was very good to find places to visit from our room and to look through restraunt menus before going out. Only con I can think of is the swimming pool water was a bit on the cold side. That could just be me though. All in though I will definetly consider this hotel on my next trip to Edinburgh […] . Comfy, clean, modern, excellent location, no complaints.

Hotel was very clean and close to the station. Breakfast was lovely. Comfortable hotel and well worth the price!

Great hotel in an amazing central location within easy walking distance of all the sights and shops. Really comfortable room with fantastic bathroom. Cot was provided for our three month old which was very clean and in good condition. The spa and pool were a good size, not too busy and nicely decorated. Lifts were quick and easy to use. Only real issues […] were: (a) the cost of breakfast - £15 pp, which didn't really suit our budget but friends who did have breakfast told us it was good quality and plentiful; and (b) the parking at the recommended nearby ncp is astronomical at over £20 a day. We managed to make use of free road parking on the Sunday, but beware traffic wardens waiting at 8.30 on Monday morning! Needed the car to transport all of baby's stuff but in future would consider alternative means of travel. Overall a very pleasant stay at this hotel and will definitely stay again! Leer más

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in the Apex Waterloo, where we went for our anniversary. The hotel was clean and tidy and the room and bathroom very excellent. The hotel is in a great location at the end of Princes Street and near to Waverley Station. The only complaint I have, is that we booked a Superior Double room but when we arrived at […] the room we had been given there were 2 single beds pushed together and the room was certainly not one of their superior ones. The staff was outstanding and the location was great. The only negative was that our room was small, but beds were extremely comfortable. Go to Edinburgh - it is a wonderful city - my favorite overseas so far - full of life!!! You will fall in love it!!

Excellent staff at this comfortable hotel within walking distance of the main shopping areas and attractions. Hop on Hop off bus stops next to the hotel entrance and the main train station is three short blocks down the street. Very good value for the price.

Lovely in a good location near train station. Amazing room, great bathroom with separate deep bath abs double shower. Exceptionally comfy bed. Good pool area. Recommended.

Very nice place, lovely room, great service and all round perfect stay. Only issue is the rooms are not so much sound proof from the outside street as one would hope for but being an old building it has to keep its authetic windows.

The staff were lovely and the rooms were impeccable as were the breakfasts. Location was great too, particularly for Waverley station. However, we had a room close to reception so we had to endure a lot of night time noise, especially in the early hours... Beware of rooms on floor 5!

We were very pleased with Apex Waterloo. The room was modern and roomy with a refrigerator, large screen TV and very quiet! The internet worked and it was included in the price. We stayed four nights and would have stayed longer but they were booked.

This was our first visit to Edinburgh and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel, just five minutes walk away from the railway station and the centre of the city but in a much quieter area. The service was first class all the staff were friendly and helpful - especially on reception where nothing was too much trouble. We booked a superior double room […] which was very spacious and comfortable. The only slight problem for us was that although there was a very large wardrobe which housed a safe, kettle etc. the actual hanging space was very narrow there wasn't enough room for jumpers and coats etc. we had to leave these on a chair and although there were a few shelves in the wardrobe there were only two drawers in it - and no drawers anywhere else in the room, which we found strange for a 4* hotel. The Apex is a great location , close to the train station and the major sights and a short walk to the Royal Mile. The room is a nice size with lots of closet space. The lobby is nice and the buffet breakfast was very good. Highly recommend!

everything was great but bkfst was expensive. go to the italian coffee/rest about 5 doors down at the corner of waterloo and lieth.

Great stay. comfort bed and bathroom. helpuful staff. location a bit out of the way from the center. but still ok loved the body lotion!!! so did my hubby.

great hotel have stayed there a few times for work but this time for fun (the fringe) I really loved the hotel all the more- had a lovely room -giant at the top of the hotel massive bathroom all spotless. Spa area is really nice and lovely little pool. Great location too

I stayed in one of the superior rooms, they are amazing: spacious (living room, bedroom and bathroom), beautiful design, all amenities including a Nespresso coffee maker and two TVs (one with surround system). Staff was very nice and helpful. The location is also excellent, walking distance to everything. The only minor problem was the water temperature […] in the shower: always fluctuating. This is for those who travels by car. The Hotel does not have its own car park therefore, I had to park my car in a private one close to the Hotel and payed around £60 after Hotel's 15% discount for 2 days. Because hotel located on main street it does not have its own short stay car park space. If you want to get your luggage off your car you have to […] be aware of officers walking up and down street. This is happened to me when I reached hotel after long journey I had to park my car front of hotle's main entrance on Waterloo Place to get my luggage off and disappeared for a short while, I came back and found the officer taking pictures and writing a parking ticket I tried to explain to him the situation however, he was determined to carry on with his mission. Excellent hotel in a fantastic location just below Carlton Hill. Close enough to Princes St and Waverly Bridge for buses but much quieter. No noise in the room which was very clean and comfortable and with a big TV on the wall opposite the bed. Even had an iron and ironing board. Staff all very helpfull and pleasant. This hotel is located very close to the Waterloo train Station. As well, there is a "short-cut" to and from the station via the side entrance, directly across the road, up 15 steps, from Level "0" of the hotel. Very convenient! The staff at this hotel is great; very friendly and helpful. There is a hotel bar for am afternoon drink, which is lovely. […] We did not utilize the restaurant, but it always seemed to be bustling. The room is a decent size, with a very comfortable bed and feather pillows. We had a disability room, so I can't seak for other's bathroom, but ours was sizeable, with clean tile floors and walls, a very nice tub, and nice soaps and lotions. Nothing we could criticize about. Everything is good. Hotel room is of a comfortable size, plenty of room space to move about. Toilet is very clean. Will definitely come back if we travel to Edinburgh again.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a break in Edinburgh. The Waterloo Place is well appointed for the Waverley railway station, Princes Street and The Playhouse, all are only minutes away. The room was lovely, and clean too. Fantastic location. Very convenient, close to Waverley station, even a private exit from the hotel 5 mins walk to station. Main shopping area also only 5 mins walk away. Royal Mile is similarly 5 mins away. Leisure facilities are also good, good gym equipment - compact but sufficient., similarly so for the pool and sauna, steam room. I have stayed at this hotel before with my sister and on a return weekend break with my boyfriend I suggested we stay here again. The hotel is clean and modern and we were quite happy with our choice until we went to bed. We had a few drinks in the hotel bar. (one bar guy was good at cocktails, the other not so much, my throat burned with teh over […] poweing rum in one and to rectify this he simply put lemonade in...I thought he may have made a fresh one). Anyway returned to our room at 1.00 to finally but our heads down to hear a thumping bass and people talking. After w while we looked out of our window to realise there was a night club directly across. We did not get to sleep until after 3:00 and when I complained to the deputy manager the next morning all she could do was apologise even though when I have stayed at a premier in I have had a discount for a disturned nights sleep and woudl expect more for a 4* hotel. The hotel manager told us we should have phoned down to be moved, however who wants to move rooms at 1:00 in the morning and also of they haev other rooms in the hotel they should not be placing people in a room across from a noisy nightclub....The hotel truly put a dampner on our "relaxing" weekend away. I would now not stay again, due to the unhelpful attitude the next morning. The least I would have expected was a discount for the inconvenience, especially as we had paid the same as others who had a good nights sleep. Leer más

This was an honest disappointment. The location is fantastic but the room was tiny! I've never stayed in a room so small, although the decoration and cleanliness was fantastic. Our room was located past a service stairwell we had to walk down, which didn't make it look like it was part of the hotel. It's over priced for what you get. Staff is friendly […] and reliable. The Apex Waterloo in Edinburgh was modern, comfortable and very convenient to the train station and the main tourist sights. It is located on the primary pedestrian street, which has lots of stores of all types, as well as numerous restaurants. Great bathroom, with separate marble shower. Would stay there again if we were in Edinburgh.

Room was cleaned and beds were made everyday. However there was small amount of mould in the shower. Good location for the train station and to the Royal Mile. Staff were friendly and helpful.

What a great hotel! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you step inside it's wonderful. GREAT LOCATION! Just an easy 5 minute walk to Waverly Bridge (rail station, airport bus shuttle and sightseeing buses). Right at the end of Princess Street. Nice staff, lovely rooms. I will definately stay there again when in Edinburgh!

We got room for a really low price and staying in this hotel at those prices was super value for money!! The hotel itself is a proper 4* corporate/tourist hotel with nice steam/sauna and gym facilities. Internet was superb and the room was great!! Breakfast is great as well - but if you are going for a full breakfast and if it is already not included […] in your room price (like it was for us) then I suggest you visit the Italian restaurant on the corner for a great breakfast at cheaper price. My only complain would be that the toilet flush did not work properly and that the bathroom had no heating (is had one old large window which are not well insulated) and so you could feel rather uncomfortable there. However, these couple of things were really at complete odds with the rest of the room (and bathroom as well) which was very well thought of and very comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights and after a hectic day spent sightseeing- we were really glad to get back 'home' each night. Leer más

Modern hotel located at the end of Princess Street. Twin rooms are a good size, very clean and modern. Bathrooms fitted out to a high standard with a large recessed shower and a great bath. All very tastefully done. Location good for shopping and Royal Mile. Food in restaurant ok, but some dishes could be improved. Nice swimming pool with a steam room […] and sauna. Right from our arrival the hotel provided everything required for a top qaulity stay! The room was well presented, the service was excellant, and the breakfast (the only meal we ate) was fantastic. It was absolutely amazing! Me and my boyfriend went for an overnight for his birthday and the hotel was brilliant. Our room was a lot bigger than we imagined and we were happy that we got a double shower and a bath. The television was a brilliant size and the bed so comfortable. The decor in the room and throughout the hotel was really modern, i loved […] it, it was also very clean i couldnt fault it one bit.
