Hotel Iris

No habia TV, malas condiciones en general del Hotel para el precio que se paga no hay relacion con la calidad.....

Badly maintained Hotel lobby, No Elevator, No Air-Conditional in the room, Only a very old fan with a small window for ventilation. Toilet is very very small. Ceiling look very bad condition too. Not enough place to open a luggage as there's only enough place for a person to walk around.

Our first room had non working air conditioner and a window that could not be closed because there was a pipe connecting to the air unit outside the bedroom. the floor was so dirty that it felt sticky when one walked on it. We requested another room . The night person was not happy and did not make an effort to disguise his dissatisfaction at being […] "inconvenienced". He took us to another room, but he did not know how to turn the air. He did not help us with our luggage to the second floor. We requested a wake up call, but did not get one. There is nothing more uncomfortable that a hot , humid night in Venice in the summer! Unless you add the surly, inefficient service and the lack of cleanliness. Leer más

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights and it was ideal for our time in Venice. The room was 'cosy', + a small bathroom which was unexpected as we thought we would have to share a bathroom with other guests. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good place to crash after a day of walking, walking, walking

In the interest of not making this review sound hateful, I will keep the feedback concise. Please save yourself some grief, and do not stay at Hotel Iris. Consider spending a bit more for a much more pleasant stay elsewhere. First, our view out of the room was of an enlosed area decorated by a pail of rancid liquid, dead foliage, and hanging laundry. […] The room was outfitted with a basic fan with an electrical cord running the length of the room, visible because the fan was posted on the top of a tall cabinet. The room was dreary, as we could not keep the windows open due to the smell, and dusty, and it was definitely an aweful beginning to an otherwise beautiful stay in Venice. The gentleman at the front desk was able to change our room that evening, which was such a relief, and because the gentleman apparently knew what the condition of the room was (I am sure that we have not been the first couple to ask for a switch in rooms), he explained that we would not be charged a fee for the first evening, but the second evening would need to be negotiated with the manager the following morning. Fair enough. Come morning, we ask the lady at the front desk if the manager was available to discuss the pricing issue, and she stated that the manager was not available, but she was able to set pricing. When I explained to her what the gentleman stated the night before, she proceeded to explain that this would not be an option, and we would have to pay a difference for both nights. She then began to haggle. I was sure that the gentleman would back me up as he was there in the morning, but he retracted his statement, and tried to explain that he spoke too fast. This was after he had been scolded by the lady at the front desk that was definitely not the manager. Anyhow, the new room was better, because we had a private bathroom, but beware of no working air conditioning system and tons of mosquitos. Situated in the central area of San Polo on a canal this hotel is round the corner from the Basillica di Santa Maria and only 10 minute walk from the train station (if you dont get lost !) The hotel itself is very basic and not very clean but is a great, cheap place to stay if you just want a place to sleep.

Good hotel, clean, near to San Marco (10' walking), great breakfast, nice people. Internet wireless free in the room. BUT when you will do the booking, be carefully about the private bathroom, because the add it's confusing. the hotel have share bathroom and private, but they will bill you 25 euros more for each day

staff are very friendly, location is great, but does not meet the value of the money, the cabinet was broken and the wall paint is falling down, the breakfast is only croissant butter and jam, good for student not for families

This is near the San Toma water bus stop, and one of the closer hotels to Piazzale Roma, which is where you can get or get dropped off from airport transportation (which gives it reasonable walking distance, if you're ok with carrying your suitecase over a handfull of staircases). It's kind of far from San Marco square, however. We got quite lost trying […] to walk back to the hotel at night...keep a close eye on your map(this is probably good advice for visiting Venice in general) The hotel it self was good, staff was very helpful with directions and such. the room was very very small, and although internet was offered on the site, there never was any internet, which i needed to look up places i had earmarked, and contact with family via net. people were friendly but should have had internet

Rooms good and clean, location not too far from the center and other sights, breakfast ok but not better then ok, service friendly.

Hotel Iris is a traditional Italian, family-run hotel. Charming little place. A 10-minute walk from the train station or 20-min walk from San Marco. Very clean, good bathroom. Young Giacomo at the desk is very friendly and eager to speak English. If you don't want to go too far for dinner they have a restaurant right downstairs and Luca will take care […] of you. For the price I paid I was very happy with the place. And no there's no elevators so you have to drag your luggage up yourselves. But, anyone who goes to Venice will have to drag their stuff through the streets and over all those little bridges anyways, so what's another few stairs? Highly recommended. Leer más

Clean room (clean bed and clean bathroom). About a 10 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and located in a quite part of town on a pretty canal. This was a convenient place to stay, especially for the price paid.

und nahe am Anleger San Toma, die ruhige Lage in San Polo genossen wir dankbar nach Rückkehr von trubeligen Ausflügen in San Marco o.a. Wir trafen auf Renovierungsarbeiten im Hotel, diese waren auch dringend nötig. Also erhebliche Abstriche in puncto Ästhetik in unserem Zimmer u. Geräuschpegel. Ok paikalla sijaitseva hotelli, vähän oli vaikea löytää osoitteenkaan perusteella. Edullinen, mutta kun astui hotellin sisään tajusi kyllä syyn.

Väldigt bra område. Lite svårt att hitta men annars väldigt bra. Frukosten var inget att hurra för inte personalen hellet men annars så var hotellet bra framför allt läget.

We stayed there a night and it's seriously expensive for what it proposes : a shared bathroom, no watter in the room, hotel in construction... Nothing (except the location that is ... ok) justifies the price. You can find better hotel at better price in Venice

Hotel tre bien situé à 1 minute du vaporetto chambre du 2 éme etage un peu etroite mais tout fonctionne tres bien chambre du 1er étage bien plus vaste mais quelque soucis de douche petit dejeuner tres bien et bons en résumé pour nos deux séjours bon rapport qualité prix restaurant à recommander proche de cet hotel DONA Onesta

un peu cher pour les prestations recues;

Hotel, bien situé (entre le pont du Rialto et le pont acadomia, en plein centre de Venise. Hotel mal entretenu (plinthes non fixé, carrelage cassé, trous dans les portes masqués par des autocollants, douche et WC sales, mal isolé) petits déjeuner à minima. Stor skillnad i rumsstandard. Från små rum med mkt enkel standard till bra rum med bra standard. Frukosten är helt OK för att vara kontinental. Läget är mkt centralt och nära hållplats för både Vaparetto nr 1 och 2. Lite branta trappor upp till rummen.

Hotel bien place et pas dificulté a trouvé. Cependant les chambre sont petite! le chaufage non adéquat, la chambre étais pas asser chaude! Manque de confort.

Si vede che i proprietari del hotel/albergo non importa piu'di tanto per la figura che fanno. Tipico situazione dove ci lavora (gestisce?) una persona sufficiente, ma non di piu', in un ambiente trasandato per dire il meglio. Si sento la frustrazione di chi lavora li'. L'hotel ha bisogno di un rinfrescato.

Apesar dos quartos antigos a localização era boa com acesso fácil aos taxis e aos barcos/ônibus.

The personnel at the hotel weren't friendly at all and the whole appearance wasn't too good. There was a huge hole in the roof and the stairs were crooked. The AC wasn't working AT ALL and it was like sleeping in a sauna. The location wasn't too great either, in a shady street in the middle of nowhere.. Hôtel bien situé, quartier très sympa et calme. Chambre au confort sommaire mais propre. Personnel à la réception disponible à toute heure, sympathique et parlant de nombreuses langues. Petit déjeuner pas très bon.

Très bonne prestation d'ensemble, chambre agréable, hotel au calme, petit déjeûner correct, personnel sympathique, mais acces à Internet impossible, probablement à cause de leur configuration de box, dommage. Se méfier du restaurant qui affiche à l'extérieur un menu qui n'est pas servi lorsqu'on s'installe et qui sort 2 factures identiques : une avec […] les prix affichés considérés comme TTC, puis lorsqu'on demande la réduction de 10% annoncée dans les chambres, refont une facture avec cette fois-ci les prix affichés mais considérés HT, donc bilan, avec la taxe en plus et la réduction, cela revient au même que les prix de la carte ! Nice litlte hotel with a good location at a resonably price. Value for money if you can live without fridge and internet i the room. Intenetconnection is though availble in the lobby without any extra costs. All in all: A OK place.

Nous avons choisi cet hotel car il est situé à deux pas d'un arrêt vaporeto et il donne sur un rio. (Jolie vue) Le personnel était très sympa et il y a des réductions pour le restaurant de l'hotel. (Pates environ 8 euros) Petit dej correct. La chambre donnait directement sur le rio (Seulement quelques chambres), elle était propre mais le chauffage ancien […] ne marchait pas bien et faisait tellement de bruit qu'il était impossible de le laisser la nuit. De plus l'isolation entre les chambres n'est pas terrible et le matin nous étions réveillés par nos voisins ou par un bateau passant sur le rio. Globalement, hotel sympathique mais isolation à refaire. Leer más
