Este es un muy buen hotel para alojarse en su visita a Edimburgo. Un negocio familiar, que tiene una atmósfera especial. Al entrar en la habitación me di cuenta de que internet no funcionaba en la habitación porque el enchufe de red estaba roto y Alex amablemente me cambio a otra habitación donde pude utilizar el servicio sin problemas. Las habitaciones, aunque un poco pequeñas, están muy limpias y bien decoradas y proporcionan una gran calidad de descanso. El desayuno era fantástico. Con una amplia selección y preparado al momento El único inconveniente es la ubicación del hotel, que está un poco apartado de las principales atracciones. Sin embargo, esto se indica en la descripción del hotel, así que no hay sorpresas. Se puede llegar al centro en 10 minutos en autobús o en unos 25 después de una caminata.

Pues estuvimos alojados 4 noches, todo perfecto, pero mejoraria el sistema de las tuberias del agua, pues cuando la habitación de alado abria el grifo del baño, retumbaba en mi habitación. Otra cosa a mejorar es el Wifi, lo pondría gratis, como un servicio mas del hotel. Por el resto, todo genial, habitación grande muy limpia, comoda y calentita ahora en invierno, muy buena situación, y muy buen trato del jovencisimo staff que tienen.

El bloque de apartamentos está en el 228 de Morrison Street. Si llegáis a Edimburgo en el autobús del aeropuerto, os bajáis en la parada de Haymarket Station, y está a unos 300 mts hacia arriba, al principio de Morrison Street, en la acera de la izquierda. Tiene tres pisos hacia arriba y uno hacia abajo. No tiene recepción, así que lo primero que hay que hacer es ir a por las llaves a otro apartamento de la cadena, el Fountain Courts Grove, que está en el 121 de Grove Street (abierta 24 horas). Grove Street es la primera bocacalle que sale a la derecha de Morrison Street, según pasas por la puerta de nuestro apartamento. Hay que subir la calle hasta el final (hacia la mitad de la calle hay otro bloque de apartamentos, Fountain Courts Harris, esos no son). Una vez llegas a la recepción del Grove te darán las llaves, uno o dos juegos (no los perdáis porque os cobrarán una elevada multa). Después volvemos a nuestro apartamento y, empezamos a subir escaleras (nosotros tuvimos mala suerte, nos tocó el tercer piso). En concreto, hasta el tercer piso son 63 escalones. No se puede fumar, así que o dejas de fumar o haces ejercicio. El apartamento es muy espacioso. Tiene un gran salón-comedor-cocina con cocina eléctrica, horno, lavadora, lavavajillas, frigorífico, microondas, tostador y cuatro servicios de menaje. La verdad es que no echamos de menos nada. Tiene tres botes llenos de sobrecitos de café, té y azúcar y un hervidor de agua. Muchos armarios. En cuanto al salón, una mesa de comedor con cuatro sillas, una mesa baja, un sofá y un sillón. Hay televisión, equipo de música y una lámpara de pie. Debajo de la televisión hay un mueble donde está la caldera del agua caliente. Nosotros estuvimos en fechas de mucho frío (del 1 al 8 de Diciembre), incluso nos nevó algún día. Hay radiadores en todas las estancias, y son regulables. Si están al máximo, pasas calor. This was our second time to stay here as we were so impressed the first time. We stayed here for our honeymoon and we were upgraded to a superior room as a result. There was also a present left in the room for us. The hotel is lovely and the staff are helpful and very pleasant. it is situated in a quiet area less than a 10 minute walk from the Royal […] Mile. "House keeping was sub-standard"
The room looked good, but the housekeeping and maintenance were sub-standard. There were sticky rings on the bedside table and it was impossible to close the shower screen, so I could not have a shower in the morning. I was only staying one night, so it was not worth the effort of trying to change my room.

We recently stayed for a long weekend in Edinburgh at Ten Hill Place. The hotel itself is only 10 minutes walk from the Edinburgh Castle and is located on a main road with lots of shops/restaurants. Great hotel. Would recommend to anyone! The manager left us a personally written letter and gave us a free upgrade because we mentioned we were on our honeymoon. Generally everything is good about this hotel, the price and the location was fine and within walking distance of the Royal Mile and Arthur's seat. The only issue that I did have with the hotel is that it weirdly had glass doors to the bathroom, whilst this is fine for showers or bath's I did find it very odd when going to the toilet!

Nice, clean, modern hotel, located near the old city center. 5 min walk from flybus. Cosy room w/ bathtub - but a very hard bed! Nice staff. Expensive breakfast - we chose to have breakfast for half the price on a nearby café instead. Extra praise for the fair trade/ecological awareness in the hotell. We defenitely recommend this place.

This hotel was a perfect place to explore Edinburgh. It's so close to everything, yet off a quiet street. The rooms are modern and well insulated. Pros: - Good location. Close enough to be a short, pleasant walk to the Royal Mile, but far enough away to be very quiet. - Clean rooms. - Nice staff. - Never ate at the hotel, but the food always smelled and looked good. Cons: - Hotels.com lists Ten HIll Place as having wireless internet. This is not entirely accurate. The cafe has wireless internet. […] The rooms DO NOT have wireless internet. The rooms DO have a wired connection. The wired connection is listed as a high speed internet connection, but I never got above 500 kbps, which to me does not qualify as a high speed connection. - I'm six feet three inches tall, and found the bed to be irritatingly short. The pillows were also incredibly uncomfortable. This probably wouldn't be a big deal on a one or two night stay, but after a week, it did take it's toll. Overall: The price of the hotel makes it a bargain compared with a lot of similar places, and for the average traveller, I think Ten Hill Place would be a great, economical place to stay in Edinburgh. For travellers like me who are expected to be on call even when they're on vacation, the slow internet connection and lack of wireless can be a major drawback. Additional notes for people who do decide to stay at Ten Hill Place: There is a great coffee shop called Black Medicine a couple of blocks north of the Hotel on Bridge Street. Great coffee and pastries, scones, etc... Highly recommeded for a quick breakfast, or a pick-me-up on the way back to the hotel. Leer más

I can't rate this hotel highly enough. It was excellent value, especially as we found that we had been updated to a suite on our arrival! The fifth floor rooms have spectacular views over East Edinburgh and we were able to watch the sun rise over Arthur's Seat in the morning which was very special. The staff were super friendly and efficient, our room […] spotless and the breakfast tasty and plentiful. The hotel is very quietly situated on a square off Nicholson Street and is owned by the Royal College of Surgeons. All profits go back into the Royal College of Surgeons which, personally was also a big plus. "Central, quiet location"
Ten Hill Place in Edinburgh is a wonderful, centrally located hotel situated in a quiet pocket. We didn't eat in the restaurant, so I can't comment on the food. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. As we were suffering from a bit of jetlag, we napped in the afternoon on two occasions, and asked for wake-up calls to ensure that we didn't […] sleep too long (there is no clock radio in the room). While our morning wake-up calls went without a hitch, the late afternoon wake-up calls did not come through. Luckily, we woke up on our own anyway. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Our only complaint would be with the bathrooms. The lighting is very modern, but it is not good bathroom lighting as your face is in shadow, making it hard for my husband to shave and for me to apply make-up. This is a small thing though, and the bigger issue is the bathroom door - it is glass. While it is largely frosted (although there are strips of completely clear glass every 30cm or so), I do not want a glass door on the bathroom. Especially in a hotel room, where everything is close by, more privacy is necessary. On top of this, if you get up in the night turning on the bedroom light floods the sleeping area with light! I don't know who thought that a glass door was a good idea, but it's not. As I said, this is our only complaint. I would stay at Ten Hill Place again, and recommend it to anyone. Leer más

Great service, good hotel, clean nice rooms, great bathroom in the room i stayed. 7-8 min walk from the royal mile. A couple of very nice pubs and cafes close by. The breakfast is optional. I thought it was good but not great. Any cafe nearby will be just as good if not better.

We were visiting Edinburgh to see our son who is studying there so the room was only two minutes from his student residence in Robertson's Close. One of the places we wanted to visit was Surgeon's Hall which was just around the corner. In fact we were surprised to learn the hotel is owned by The Royal College of Surgeons who seem to own most of the […] block. The basin waste was blocked the first time we used it but this was put right quickly and without fuss. The room heating is fully adjustable if a little noisy but as we like a cool room at night we turned it off so no problems there. Didn't try breakfast so can't comment. I enjoyed 4 nights here with my wife and we loved our room and the location. Hotel room could use a coat of paint but otherwise it was great! the location was perfect and quiet. Relatively large rooms and great bathrooms that even have bathtubs. Ask for a room at the front if you like to see trees out your window. Very friendly and helpful staff.

"A SPOILT VISIT"
We were in Edinburgh for our son's wedding, staying the Friday night. Check out time was 11 am (which is unusually early for this type of hotel.) We asked for an extension to 1 pm so that we could get changed before going onto the hotel where the wedding was taking place. We were charged an extra £20 (which was reduced from £25 after some discussion […] with the duty manager) to stay the extra two hours. We both travel globally frequently and this is the first time we have been charged unless we have asked to to stay for the entire afternoon to await our flight, It would not cost the hotel anymore to extend our occupancy of the room by two hours we felt that as the room charge was above average; very hard done by and disappointed.
