Hotel Athena

El hotel esta en la misma plaza de la estacion de Lyon Part Dieu. El servicio es bueno en general, pero no conteis con la conexion WIFI para nada importante. La conexion tarda media hora en establecerse y a los 10 minutos se desconecta sola.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel during a recent vacation to Lyon. It's main attraction is the price and location. It is very reasonable, and right next to Gare Part-Dieu (and the TCL metro line B). It was not cold enough for them to turn on the main furnace. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a quick trip (due to its location and price). Nice hotel in good location for arriving by train. Hotel is in area with Metro & Trams which are perfect for navigating around all of Lyon. We saw all of the city that we wanted in 3 days including Stade de Gerland for a match. Lyon is a bit of a hidden gem and we enjoyed the city. Only stay here if nearness to the train station is the top priority. The bed was much like a stack of moldy cardboard and the neighborhood is a little creepy.

The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke english. The room was adequate and comfortable. Breakfast was consistent with a variety of options. The location is extremely convenient since it is directly on the square on the west entrance of the Part-Dieu train station.

good location and room is clean. Shower in the room is great! However, the reception area are too hot and without air-conditioning during the summer. Breakfast in the hotel are fine.

Despite being in the processes of renovation, we found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was good. The rooms were of a reasonable size for a French hotel of this standard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The women who worked the front desk was rude and not helpful. The room, and the bathroom were filthy! We were so shocked a hotel could be so dirty.They do not have beds, they are like cots and they are so uncomfortable. The location is very good as it is just a short walk from the train station as well as the other public transportation. Hotel staff is ok and businesslike and will answer whatever questions that you might have but they are not warm. The room is pretty small and the decor looks a bit dated although it is generally quite clean. The wifi although provided […] free does not have very good reception in the rooms for making skype calls although it is much better at the lobby area. Overall, it is a ok hotel for the location but the next time I go, I would prefer to check out the Novotel which is just next door. Leer más

The hotel was ok rooms very basic and no shower just a bath with a shower head and no curtain so the who bathroom got very wet most of the reception staff werent very helpful and were only friendly sometimes no enough info on the city and things to do breakfast expensive and very basic but the hotel was very close to the train station only about 50 […] meters away Leer más

The strongest recommendation of this hotel is its location in very close proximity to the Gare Part-Dieu. Rooms are clean but fairly basic.. Facilities are limited but there are many close by.

The first thing to say about this hotel is its location; it is right next to the Lyon Part Dieu railway station (the principal one in the city)- which of course saves money on taxi fares or energy on a long walk lugging bags and ensures there's no rush if you're catching the train early the next day, as I was. This also means that it's right next to […] city centre travel links (buses and trams), but a relaxing walk to Place Bellcour only takes about twenty minutes. Check in at the reception/bar was speedy and simple. The room itself was immaculately clean, with a well made double bed (but which probably would have been a bit small for two people). The triple glazing was brilliant, meaning the room was completely insulated from the noise of the busy road outside. There was a TV, with France's equivalent of Freeview HD and some foreign channels including BBC World News and CNBC. There was also a desk, with chair, as well as bedside tables and lights. My favourite part of the room was the ensuite shower room, which could not have been cleaner, nor more modern. The shower itself was fantastic- it was spacious and had a built in shower head, as well as a small handheld shower head- between which you could toggle. There was also a hair and body wash dispensor, with copious amounts of soap in. The room had an air conditioning system, but the guest is not completely in control of it. My biggest annoyance was that you could not switch it off completely, only put it into standby mode, which meant that it came back on after a while. The lack of wardrobe space would probably be an issue for a guest staying longer. A member of staff helpfully provided me with a free map of the city centre, and informed me that I could receive phone calls in the room for free (the information booklet was not clear about the cost of making calls). Great central location - airport bus stops right outside. Clean and business like, no frills. Train station and main shopping centre all within 50m - perfect for a budget night.

This place is about 30 mins away from the city center and smells like a combo of fish and a rubber fire. Just nasty!

The bed was the smallest two person bed I have ever seen. It was also as hard as concrete. We got very little sleep as a result.

I did save a lot of money on the advertised rate of this hotel, but I'm still not happy with the value. The Athena is fantastic for location, as it's right next to the train station, and the bus to Lyon St. Exup airport is less than 10 meters away. However, the conditions of the room left a lot to be desired. The "double" bed for 2 people was one of […] the smallest beds I've ever seen. The air conditioner did not work, the towels were old, worn and had holes in them. Plus the entire room had a strange odor. The staff at the front desk were helpful, although not overly friendly. We selected this hotel for the convenient location next to the Lyon Central Station and close walking distance to the city. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet despite being so close to the station, we could watch the foot traffic in and out of the station from our window, which could open and had 3 layers of glass. This hotel is in a great location, is nice, and is inexpensive. A good choice for business or leisure.

Je n'y suis restée qu'une nuit, je n'ai donc pas de reproche particulier à faire. C'est un hôtel très bien situé lorsque l'on souhaite prendre le train tôt le matin.

SI l'on viens en train à Lyon, l'hôtel est très bien situé car il est juste à côté de la gare, de plus il y a le métro juste à côté, le tram ainsi que les bus, il est donc très facile de se rendre à Belcour en métro par exemple. Le grand centre commercial est situé à 2 pas et il y a plein de boutiques, c'est que du bonheur quant on aime le shopping […] !! Le personnel quant à lui a été très serviable et aimable à chaque fois que j'ai été en contact avec eux qu'il s'agisse du personnel de la réception ou bien des femmes de chambres. J'ai donc passé un agréable séjour dans cet hôtel et je le recommande à toute personne souhaitant séjourner dans un hôtel de très bon rapport qualité/prix. Leer más

Calme, proche de la gare et du centre commercial, mais une chambre un petit petite avec un lit double un peu petit pour deux personnes. La nuit, les environs de l'hôtel sont assez sombres.

bon rapport qualité prix mais chambre assez rustique parfois un peu détérioré facilité de communication et bien situé quoiqu'un peu loin du centre historique de Lyon

venue pour une nuit, je n'ai pas de gros points négatifs à mettre en avant hormis la ventilation dans la chambre qui émet un léger son. sinon chambre confortable, et bien insonorisée (important près d'une gare !), salle de bain très agréable, et choix et libre service dans le petit déjeuner (un peu cher cependant : près de 10 €)

Absolument sans problème. Personnel très aimable.

Chambres impeccables, douches neuves, personnel accueillant et à l'écoute, très bien situé pour les transports en commun, notamment pour venir de l'aéroport. Un bon rapport qualité/prix

Excellente situation pour un prix concurrentiel: la gare devant la porte, les transports publics à deux pas et un très bon service pour l'indispensable. Hôtel bien isolé de l'extérieur, mais pas totalement à l'intérieur. Joli buffet petit-déjeuner. On y reviendra avec plaisir

Bonne situation pres de la gare de la Part-Dieu, des trams, bus, taxis. Accueil professionel et sympathique. 1 bemol: les chambres sont petites et les lits peu confortables ; a recommander pour de courts sejours. Pour le reste, rien a dire.

Le soir de mon arrivée, je n'ai pas pu régler mon petit-déjeuner du lendemain. La personne m'a opposé le fait que les factures étaient éditées la nuit !!! Bizarre ! Elle n'était pas trop aimable. J'ai eu froid dans ma chambre : la couverture est vraiment très fine.

Først lige 5 stjerner til medarbejderen på Hotel Com. Endnu engang oplevede vi en super betjening og det var ham ( kan deværre ikke huske navnet) som fandt Athena til os. Vi var på gennemrejse og alt fungerede fint - rent og pænt hotel og gode restauranter i nærheden af hotellet. Hotellet har parkerings kælder som man betaler for men trygt og hotelprisen […] er virkelig lav set i relation til standard - herunder helt ok morgenbuffet.
