Hotel Amba

I came into München with train from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and needed a hotel for an early flight next morning - the Amba is perfect for that, ca 100m from where the G-P train stops. The room was clean, had a good working place and warmed up niecely after I turned up the heat (it was minus 10C in München this night). My room faced the back yard, so […] there was no traffic noise from the street, so I slept well through the night. The breakfast was nice (fresh bakeries, many kinds of jam, meat, cheese, cereals, juices, fruit; boiled eggs etc); can't understand why people complain about it (unless you expect scrambled eggs and bacon at every breakfast). The hotel was so convenient for transport: 2 minutes from the station and opposite the airport bus stop. It was also within 10 minutes walking of the centre of everything in Munich. The rooms were exceptionally small as was the bathroom but spotlessly clean. The breakfast was outstanding.

This hotel is located just next to the Hauptbahnhof and was very handy for us because we travelled from the airport on the train. The hotel was clean, good breakfast, smallish and basic rooms but we hardly spent any time in them so it was fine for us. Would stay there again.

Our time at the Amba was very short - 2 days, but that was all we wanted. It met our needs. It would have been good if there was a small snack bar in the reception area - it couldn't be regarded as a lounge. Our TV didn't work - but the guy insisted on fixing it straight away and did so. Pity we couldn't get an English channel apart from CNN or BBC […] world. Approx 1 block from centrail train staition if you go out the correct door - left , if trains are behind you; then cross street and go left. Comfortable little room for travelers by train who just need a clean place to sleep and don't need to be pampered. Friendly staff. Nice place. Courteous staff. I would stay there again. Just a couple of blocks from shopping and beautiful sites. Loved it!!!

The Ambay is a decent hotel but the location is excellent. It was a simple 15 minute walk to most of the attractions. I do not think you could find a better location. The room was small but clean and adequate. It was a little noisy at night with the window open. The parking garage is small but worked out fine (with self parking).

+ near by central station, good breakfast, standard rooms, - no minibar, surcharge for internet access

This hotel was in a good location, close to the railway station. We arrived in Munich at 8.30pm so was glad to walk directly there. It was a short (10 minute) walk to Marion Platz - the centre of Munich. The staff spoke English which was helpful

the room size too small and the bed was too small convieniently located which was a great plus point no wifi in the room was disappointment close to the city centre

Excellent utilization of space for compact rooms, hotel is right outside railway station so public transport is readily available, breakfast was excellent & the best part was the lady at the reception, she was helpful, always smiling, could speak fluent english & even provided the room earlier that the check in time

The staff was wonderful. The hotel was clean and well maintained, but is showing it's age. The location is great right across from the main train station (the hauptbanhof). The neighborhood was quite noisy with lots of loud people in the alley behind our room and police sirens all night. With no air conditioning the windows need to stay open on summer […] nights, so bring your ear plugs. Bring your own pillow if you don't prefer a down pillow, which seems to be the norm in Europe. Only a short walk to the old section of town and the old botanical gardens where we found a hidden gem in a playground for our 21/2 year old. We asked for non smoking room but cigarette smoke permeated the room. It was very noisy and we could not open the window for the noise and the room was very stuffy.We could hear the conversations of other people in the rooms next to ours. Very small room. Clean bathroom and towel warmer. Lovely staff and very helpful.

The Amba Hotel is across the street from the Munich Main train station and the tram to the Nymphenburg Palace is outside of the hotel. The room was comfortable but the street noise was terrible the two nights I stayed there. Hotel Amba is a really solid nice hotel. I would rate it a good 3 out of 5 stars. The desk personnel were nice and fluent in many languages including English. Great access to the main train station (50 yards away) and the Marienplatz (5 minute walk through good streets). We walked to all of the sites we wanted to see in Munich except for Dachau and […] the English Garden which we just walked 50 yards to the train station and took a 10-15 minute train ride. Internet access is 10 euros per day but it was very fast and reliable. Great experience and will definitely stay here everytime we return to Munich. Hotel Amba was pretty typical European hotel, but location and staff are great. Good price and also has parking for 10e.

The hotel is very convienient to train station and restaurents. But the hotel has no air conditioning so the windows are left open for air and consequently all the noise from the busy street disturbs the customer. The streets remain busy because of the location and i could not sleep all the 4 nights I stayed.

Hotel Amba worked very well for us. It is about a block and half from the main entrance to the main train station. Once you learn the layout of the train station there are exits to the street level that put you even closer. My main complaint would be that the main lobby is the designated smoking area. The rooms are non-smoking so All the smoker stay […] in the lobby to smoke. The showers were very cramped but that is not unusual. The room size was slightly larger that the average. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the service also very good. The area is not the greatest but I never felt unsafe. Several good restaraunts close by. Most tours leave from the main rail station so it is convenient for sightseeing. desk people were very polite and helpful and spoke English well. This hotel exceeded our expectations concerning the location and also what it offered for the price. The room was nice and quiet, nicely furnished and had a small, but updated bathroom. The big breakfast buffet offered something for every palate.

This hotel was conveniently located directly across the street from the main train station in Munich. Normally, as a woman traveling alone, I think of hotels near main train stations as being generally unsafe. This is not the case with Hotel Amba. It was close to many restaurants and bars. It was approximately a 15-20 minute walk to Marienplatz--which […] is fine because there are shops etc to keep you occupied while you walk. I did not take the U or S bahn at all. The rooms were small. I had the comfort room with a full size bed. It was minimalist in terms of amenities, but clean and sufficient. I spent little time in the hotel room, so I don't need all the bells and whistles. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was small, but clean and modern. The elevator is slow. The breakfast was good and a nice spread to start your day. If I got to Munich again, I would definitely stay at Hotel Amba. Again, not a fancy place, but it was convenient and run-well. Leer más

We stayed three nights at this hotel and were very pleased with the room and service. The breakfast buffet is very good. Great location for rail connections.

My girlfriend and I recently spent a weekend in Munich and stayed at Hotel Amba. The location is perfect, right next to the central train station and within easy walking distance of the major sites. This hotel is a three-star hotel and rightfully so; it is not fancy or extravagant but it is certainly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really great, with a selection of meats and cheeses, yogurt, granola, and breads. The coffee was decent but there was a machine that produced really good espressos, cappuccinos, etc. My only complaint was that our room was a little noisy, I think due to a hostel across the street, but it wasn't enough to keep us from getting a good night's sleep. Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Amba. Its great for Oktoberfest and Munich train station so everything is close at hand. The only downside was that it was very noisy outside, probably especially during Oktoberfest, and you needed your window open as their is no air conditioning.

Stayed during Oktoberfest and it was great. Short walk to the grounds and to the shopping street. Also, it is directly across the street from the train station. The front desk was very accomodating and knowledgeable. Hotel/rooms were very clean and modern.

中央駅から近くてとても便利でした。時間前でも問題なくチェックインさせてくれました。朝食は思ったより普通だったかな（美味しいという評価があったので期待しすぎただけかも）。部屋も広く、バスタブがあったのが良かったです＾＾部屋の番号を忘れてしまったり、お湯を貰ったりしましたがいつでも気持ちよく対応してもらえました♪

中央駅に近いので空港との移動も便利。マリエン広場へも徒歩で行けます。 朝食もおいしく、スタッフも親切でした。 ただハイツングの温度を上げてもなかなか部屋が温まらず（ハイツングは熱くなってたのですが）肌寒い思いをしました。

Personal: Rezeption sowie Frühstücksraum sehr freundlich, Frühstück sehrgut. Unser "Komfortzimmer" war sauber, lag auf Wunsch ruhig, aber hatte eine dringende Renovierung nötig. Wir empfanden es als äusserst unansehnlich und daher auch nicht gemütlich. Wenn diese augenfälligen Mängel behoben sind,kann man das Hotel jedoch weiterempfehlen.

Erittäin ystävällinen henkilökunta,uusittu kylpyhuone,uudet sängyt ja vuodevaatteet sekä loistava aamiainen. Huone pieni,mutta siisti. Sijainti hyvä rautatieaseman lähellä,junalla lentoasemalta ja kävellen keskustaan. Hyvä hinta/laatu suhde.

Værelset havde hvad der skulle være, men heller ikke mere. Til et 5 dages ophold, ville en mere komfortabel stol være godt, generelt er der plads til forbedringer. Morgenmaden var rigelig, og den var god. Personalets service kan der ikke udsættes noget på, flinke og venlige! Værelset blev holdt rent og pænt! Hotellet ligger godt centralt fra alt, området […] bærer præg af, at det ligger er omkring hovedbanegården. For forretningsrejsende er hotellet fint, da det er et pensionisthotel, og der er ro kl. 22:00! Leer más

Aucun bruit de la rue (nous etions sur l arrière) mais mauvaise isolation par la porte de la chambre : on entend les autres clients parler et entrer dans leur chambre, et les employés font le ménage des 8h du matin.

뮌헨 중앙역 하우프트반호프 북쪽에 있으며 교통이 매우 편리하고 갈츠 및 마리엔 광장의 접근도 쉽다. 방은 깨끗하고 친절하다. 단, 조식 메뉴가 조금 아쉬웠다.

Hyggeligt hotel tæt ved Hovedbanegården. Bus direkte til/fra lufthavn 100 meter fra hotellet, der ligger placeret i gå afstand til såvel centrum som det olympiske anlæg. God morgenmadsbuffet incl. i prisen. Et hotel, som varmt kan anbefales.
