Hotel Amba - Múnich 48.14201, 11.55736

Hotel Amba worked very well for us. It is about a block and half from the main entrance to the main train station. Once you learn the layout of the train station there are exits to the street level that put you even closer. My main complaint would be that the main lobby is the designated smoking area. The rooms are non-smoking so All the smoker stay in the lobby to smoke. The showers were very cramped but that is not unusual. The room size was slightly larger that the average. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the service also very good. The area is not the greatest but I never felt unsafe. Several good restaraunts close by. Most tours leave from the main rail station so it is convenient for sightseeing. desk people were very polite and helpful and spoke English well. Price, service and location were all that we expected.

This hotel exceeded our expectations concerning the location and also what it offered for the price. The room was nice and quiet, nicely furnished and had a small, but updated bathroom. The big breakfast buffet offered something for every palate.

This hotel was conveniently located directly across the street from the main train station in Munich. Normally, as a woman traveling alone, I think of hotels near main train stations as being generally unsafe. This is not the case with Hotel Amba. It was close to many restaurants and bars. It was approximately a 15-20 minute walk to Marienplatz--which is fine because there are shops etc to keep you occupied while you walk. I did not take the U or S bahn at all. The rooms were small. I had the comfort room with a full size bed. It was minimalist in terms of amenities, but clean and sufficient. I spent little time in the hotel room, so I don't need all the bells and whistles. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was small, but clean and modern. The elevator is slow. The breakfast was good and a nice spread to start your day. If I got to Munich again, I would definitely stay at Hotel Amba. Again, not a fancy place, but it was convenient and run-well.

We stayed three nights at this hotel and were very pleased with the room and service. The breakfast buffet is very good. Great location for rail connections.

My girlfriend and I recently spent a weekend in Munich and stayed at Hotel Amba. The location is perfect, right next to the central train station and within easy walking distance of the major sites. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was not large but certainly big enough, and the bed and blankets were very comfortable. The bathroom was also nice. This hotel is a three-star hotel and rightfully so; it is not fancy or extravagant but it is certainly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really great, with a selection of meats and cheeses, yogurt, granola, and breads. The coffee was decent but there was a machine that produced really good espressos, cappuccinos, etc. My only complaint was that our room was a little noisy, I think due to a hostel across the street, but it wasn't enough to keep us from getting a good night's sleep.

Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Amba. Its great for Oktoberfest and Munich train station so everything is close at hand. The only downside was that it was very noisy outside, probably especially during Oktoberfest, and you needed your window open as their is no air conditioning.

Stayed during Oktoberfest and it was great. Short walk to the grounds and to the shopping street. Also, it is directly across the street from the train station. The front desk was very accomodating and knowledgeable. Hotel/rooms were very clean and modern.

Amba was clean,in a great location, and a great deal. The breakfast was one of the best we had on this trip to europe. Room was small but clean and the staff was very friendly.

The room was very pleasant and spacious. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. My only criticism is that it could be noisy at nights sometimes when other guests returned to their rooms - there's not much sound insulation betwee the rooms and the corridor.

The Hotel Amba is a great value for the money. It's definitely a no-frills hotel -- there are no bellboys, no air conditioning, small rooms, etc. But for travelers on a budget, it is really excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and a wonderful breakfast buffet is included. The location is terrific, right across the street from Munich's main train station and just a 20-minute walk or 5-minute subway ride from the center of the city. When I was there, most of the other guests were European travelers, and as an American, I really enjoyed that. All in all, I would strongly recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a budget-friendly, no-frills hotel in Munich.

Rummet var litet men OK. Badrummet var däremot så litet att det var svårt att använda. Att tvätta ansiktet i det minimala handfatet innebar att hela golvet blev vått. Som normalt bredaxlad kunde man inte sitta på toalettet utan att luta ut från väggen. Det värsta var dock cigarettröken som trängde in i rummet via ventilationen och dörren.

Sehr nettes Personal, ob am Empfang oder beim Frühstück, auch die Zimmermädchen waren sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen, es wird auch schnell wieder aufgefüllt, und alles ist frisch und schön zugebereitet.

Point positifs : - Très bon accueil à la réception. - Très bien situé, près de la gare - Métro, bus et taxi à côté avec navette pour l'aéroport pen face de l'hôtel - Très bon petit déjeuner. - Très propre. Point négatif : Chambre single assez petite et exigüe.

Βασικό κριτήριο επιλογής μου ήταν ο τόπος,με διευκόλυνε αρκετα η πρόσβαση μου στον Σιδηροδρομικό σταθμό.

vu la taille et le "fun" de la chambre, c'est clairement pour y dormir et pas pour y passer du temps... Ceci dit, la qualité de l'hébergement est très correcte. Rien de superflu, c'est propre et optimisé, très allemand (comme d'hab, la couette est trop petite, mais c'est général en Allemagne). Attention à l'isolation acoustique assez minimale. Choisir une chambre qui ne donne pas sur l'ascenseur !

Fint hotel med god standard og meget flot morgenmadsbuffet. Eneste minus - Det var ikke muligt at låne en adapter så man kunne bruge stikkontakterne - Så husk den hjemmefra.

God central beligenhed ved Hauptbahnhof, meget venlig betjening, rent og lækkert m. trægulve, god og funktionel indretning af værelse og toilet/bad. Dejligt morgenbord. Hotellet kan anbefales til byferie/forretn.
