"Glasshouse Sligo Friendly staff"
We found the staff very friendly in the Glasshouse which was a lovely hotel based in the centre of Sligo overlooking the Garavouge River. We especially liked the 'lounge lizard' jazz being played in the bar area. "They charged me twice"
This was supposed to be a night away in a hotel we had previously enjoyed a stay in but this has been completely ruined by the hotel. I booked & paid through hotel.com but when checking out I was asked for my card to pay. I assumed that then perhaps that I had only used my card to book the room. When I checked my bank statement I see that the Glasshouse […] charged me for a night there knowing that i had booked through hotels.com (they asked me which site i booked through). This is really aggravating as we had previously enjoyed our stay there 2 years ago. For these reasons I wouldn't recommend it as a hotel to stay in. :( Leer más

this hotel was very nice, the tv system was fantastic. the only downfall was that the bed was infact two singles joined together and it was uncomfortable lying on the join. all in all though it was a lovely hotel finished off excellently with great style.chic. the staff were lovely and helpful and very plesent.

A little hard to find by car as GPS tried to take us the wrong way down one way streets. However once you see the glass facade in the distance it is very distinguishable from everything around it. Free (validated) undercover parking. Wonderful room with full glass windows overlooking the crashing weir of the river. The bar looks to be the trendy place […] for both visitors and locals. Only criticism is that there was no free wifi in room, and the free wifi that was supposed to be available in the bar and lobby did not work - not good for a place which is trying to be leading edge. Stayed at the Glasshouse on 22 Sept 2011. Girl at check-in not particularly friendly. Room was nicely decorated and modern. Bathroom was clean and fresh.Unfortunately the bed was quite hard and the duvet heavy. Breakfast ok but the restaurant carpet need a good clean. Good location.

"Slowly deteriorating"
I stayed in the Glasshouse in 2009 and was impressed with the decor. Its now badly in need of a facelift if it is to remain a 4 star hotel. Great location but a bit pricy for what you get.

I thought the Glasshouse was fine, but it does have to live with the fact that it's a bit of an anomaly - a Celtic Tiger extravagance in changed times. Cross the river to Connolly's pub for a taste of old Sligo.

I visit Sligo often to meet friends and have stayed in most of the hotels there now. The Glasshouse beats them all for location, service and overall value for money (if you can avoid staying at weekends!) I was particularly impressed with the quality of the food - wether choosing from full restaurant menu or the nifty bar menu. "glass house sligo. Do not believe the pictures"
stayed for two nights, and although the hotel was clean and safe, it really does look like the photos on the website were taken by a very good photographer when the hotel was brand new. food was good if a little expensive, and if you order the large room, expect a small bed, and if you order the small room, exoect a large bed, they were the options […] on arrival even though we ticked all the boxes and paid for the upgrades the bed was tiny. Great Location, but the room and the hotel were not very clean. The rug in our room had a huge stain on it, the wall was stained, two creamers for our in-room coffee were opened and bad, the bath was chipped up. Overall very poor

Checked in, opened my room door to find a dirty, un-made room with a serious smell of smoke. Bad start but got another room after ten mins so I wasn't too put out. The next afternoon I realized there was a 21st birthday function going to take place and my room was two doors away from the bar and the bar toilets were across the hall from my room. I could […] foresee a sleepless night so I asked if I could change room but was told that was impossible even though not all guests had arrived. So I couldnt sleep until about 4ish. Only stayed the one night, really central to everything in Sligo, great buzz in the hotel. We were in a room on the top floor (6th) where windows could not be open, the room was extremely hot and very uncomfortable to sleep in, there was air conditioning all right but with the noise of it you could not sleep either. This hotel is really great looking, in the heart of Sligo and near highways. Great views of the river that flows through town and the surrounding mountain areas. I would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone. It looks like the nicest place in town too.

"Perfect break"
We had a wonderful stay in the Glasshouse. Friendly staff, lovely airy room overlooking river, bar service and food A1, walking distance of everything and free parking, what more could one want. Lynn at Reception was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.

Great hotel, great location (right in the centre of the town beside the river). Everything was within walking distance including the great Tobergal Lane Cafe. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as cheaper options were yards away.

Enjoyed it! Great location, our room overlooked the garravogue river. Room was very comfortable, Free wifi in the bar worked great and the complimentary car parking under the hotel is a real plus. They have great deals in the bar for food which we availed of the evening of our stay.

we stayed in the glass house on a friday night. Was very central and handy for night out. Very clean. Decor was a little extreme for bad heads the next morning. Bright orange! Was disappointed that you have to pay for wi-fi and also milk had gone off in the tea/coffee facilities. All in all was quite happy with our stay and would consider staying a […] gain. Leer más

Convenient location. Friendly staff. The hotel has a cool, contemporary desgin but it needs a good deep cleaning. Carpets and furniture are stained. The door to the foyer where the elevators were located on our floor slammed shut everytime somebody went through it and was annoyingly loud. "The Glasshouse - a top-quality hotel for Sligo"
I booked The Glasshouse Hotel at short notice, having cancelled a booking elsewhere due to poor customer service. I still got an excellent rate for a standard double room, with - most important for Sligo! - free hotel car parking. Our reception was warm and friendly, but still efficient. The bedroom, facing west, was very hot from the afternoon sun, […] and there was no air-conditioning (I understand it is a feature of premium rooms only, a somewhat bizarre omission in 21st century hotels) but the room cooled down sufficiently by the time we got to bed. The restaurant provided an excellent evening menu, and our only "complaint" was that the portions we received were huge. The following night we tried the bar menu (my partner loves Guinness!) and were equally delighted. Standard (i.e. continental) breakfast was reasonably priced - and it was good to note that the orange juice was full strength: so often I find it has been watered down, as if guests will not notice! I liked the fact that, if one took a stroll along the hotel's riverside verandah, one could look directly through a large picture window into the kitchen where the food was being prepared and cooked. The hotel is very close to Sligo's main street, including the post office, a couple of banks, a supermarket, and smaller shops. Our stay was a great success, and I would not hesitate to return to The Glasshouse next time we are in the area. Leer más
