Small, friendly and quirky, Hotel Palomor hotel stands apart from the large, cold, bland 5-star hotels I stay in all over. Where else could I interrupt thinking about work to discuss with staff Jack Kerouac, Nat King Cole or Tom Ford?

Front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. In-room spa services were booked and they helped us find a great local place within walking distance. We loved this hotel! Room was exceptional and the employees are so nice, the door men especially - seemed like they really cared about the place they work at. The wine reception built a little community of all the guest and we would love to stay there again. A little far away from the tourists attractions and we had a dog so it was hard to keep coming […] back to walk the dog, next time we stay we will look for a hotel closer to the national mall, white house, or museums. Rooms and bathrooms are tiny. You won't even be able to put your toothbrush near the sink. By the time the water reaches the temperature you wanted, you'll be long done washing hands. At 8AM it becomes way too noisy to sleep - doors close with the sound of a thunder and room service sound like they talk in your room. We loved the Palomar...just back from 5 nights at this cozy and plush boutique hotel, near Dupont Circle. We stayed in this hotel because we were attending a company holiday party there and wanted a little romantic getaway. The hotel and rooms were very tastefully decorated and comfortable. This is a terrific place to stay just 2 blocks from Dupont Circle. As is usually true with Kimpton hotels, the room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Only drawback is it is not easy to get to Reagan National Airport on the metro (Dupont station is close but getting to the airport requires a change), but a cab was […] quick for $15. Hotel is very close to the Phillips Collection and all Dupont and Adams Morgan eateries are in easy walking distance. A beautifully decorated hotel, good location that should tick all the boxes, however, it fails completely one the most basic of requirements, that of privacy. The walls between the rooms are paper thin so that you can literally hear every conversation going on in the neighbouring rooms - we were kept awake every night and woken up every morning. I enjoyed my stay. The restaurant in the hotel is mediocre. The room was small, but very nice. I was surprised to not have a coffee maker in the room. Overall, this is a decent place.

I was originally going to book the Ritz Carlton as it was close to my daughters apartment but she really wanted me to bring our seven month old puppy, so my search for "pet friendly hotel" came up with the Palomar. Having never traveled with our older dogs, imagine my surprise when the hotel sent up not only a fabulous plush dog bed, but also dog bowls […] for water and food! Everyone at the Palomar was friendly and helpful. I was a little more needy than usual, needing cabs, room service, printing services, an in room coffee maker, luggage storage after check out, etc. Each request was met with a smile and taken care of promptly. Also, my room was huge! I would definitely stay here again.

A nice hotel with Vegas-sized rooms (and Vegas styled tiger print bathrobes), on the lux side at a very reasonable price. Room was clean, generous with the towels, overall quite comfortable, no "boutique" corner cutting, all the full amenities (incl free wifi you don't usually get at high enders) and good service. Loved everything about this hotel, especially the wine hour in the main lobby everyday. Definitely would recommend this hotel to people around my age (I'm 24) and for adults that like to have fun.

My husband and I decided to go into the city for one night to celebrate his birthday. The hotel was really busy (it seemed like there was a wedding), but everyone on the staff was exceptional. Palomar dc is located in duping circle area. 3 blocks to metro, short walk to Georgetown. Drug stores and restaurants within 2 blocks. Recommend Scion rest across the street for casual fare. Pool was awesome, staff is extremely helpful. I traveled w/ an infant and a two year old and we were all comfortable there.

El Palomar is a boutique hotel right next to Dupont Circle, walking distance to really nice restaurants, a drugstore, banks, and it felt very neighborly. It is very chic, with a nice decoration. I was offered a welcome glass of wine during cocktail hour, and I dined at their wonderful Restaurant with a very hip and happening bar filled with locals. […] I made several new friends when I sat at the bar to have a meal for two nights. The barman was delightful! The summer evening menu could be expanded a bit, but the items that I picked were absolutely delicious and well-prepared. Would go back in a second to El Palomar! I understand that there are rooms which are very large and comfortable. I was by myself in a very small room, (the hotel was packed), but it was perfectly fine for me. If we would have been two, then I would have found it a bit tight. But overall, I loved the experience of staying at the Palomar! Leer más

This is a fantastic hotel that also accepts dogs. The rooms were well appointed, modern and clean, though a bit on the small side if that is a concern. Checking in was a nightmare. The entire process was conterintuitive, rude and an overall terrible experience. If I felt that the employee was difficult in the name of security, I would understand, but […] this was not the case. A very comfortable hotel close to Golden Triangle. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Very close to metro and the hotel has a daily happy hour where they offer wines and snacks. Perhaps it is due to this that they locked my minibar and I could not get water to drink the next day and night. After I complained it was opne and a key was left […] hanging on the minibar. Upgraded to deluxe king room upon arrival without even asking. Huge, clean, comfortable room; friendly, helpful staff; nice bar/lounge. First time I have stayed here, but will definitely return on future business and personal trips. Check in on Google Latitude to receive a special offer!

Great location; attractive public spaces but standard rooms are TINY and crammed with way too much furniture. Can barely walk through the room without bumping into something, and I'm a fairly small person. A larger person would feel absolutely claustrophobic.

Nice hotel but interior decor is a bit heavy and gloomy. Hosted wine receptions are fun. Outsite area is a bit intimidating by night... not for the feint hearted. Overall a nice hotel in a good location - some rooms definately in a better position with others. Avoid a street view / ask to face the pool.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Hotel Palomar is only a couple of blocks from the very convenient subway. The staff was very welcoming. The whole experience was great.

I stayed at the Hotel Palomar 7th - 10th April. I am a tourist from the UK. I stayed in 3 different hotels in Boston, Chicago and washington and this was the most expensive and least impressive. I chose it because I had stayed in a Kimpton in San franciso 3 years ago and was impressed. It wasnt that anything was wrong I just found the hotel rather like […] a very well appointed motel without any of the individualism of a true Boutique hotel. I maybe over reacting to a very noisey Friday night, and I would suggest that if you require quiet that you request not to be near the ice machine and not to have connecting doors . I may not also not understand the pricing of rooms in washington and i cant compare with other hotels, but I wouldnt be recommending this to a friend. I would though warn any new travellers to washington that it ishelpful to be close to a metro station. FYI, taxis from Dupont Circle to the centre or to say George town are around $10 with tips. The Hotel Palomar was a delightful hotel within a trendy area of Washington. We had a wonderful 2 nights stay in a King size room. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Nicely decorated. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We brought our dog with us and she was treated with the same respect as we were. The manager's wine reception was […] a great way to meet other travellers while sipping on some wine and snacks. The hotel itself is walking distance to many things. We took a cab to the Capitol Building then walked home. It was a great way to see the city. You can walk to the Monuments and walk home if you are a walker/average person but it would be a little to far for an elderly person. We did walk both ways one day and then did the cab the second day. The cab driver was very helpful and dropped us off at the top of the hill so we just had to walk down! There is a supermarket across the street to get any supplies you may need. There are many restaurants within one block to get take out food or dine in. There is an awesome bagel shop across the street that has fanastic bagels offering items all day. There is also Starbucks within the block for the coffee people. We ordered room service for one dinner and one breakfast. Both were great. Fair prices. Came with the 18% tip included so be mindful of that. Hotel Palomar was as chic as the pictures proclaimed. I loved the modern decor and artistic touches throughout the hotel and my room. Bellhop and customer service were more than accommodating and always with a smile. The bed was a little bit small, but the animal print robes and extensive minibar made up for that. Dupont Circle has plenty of restaurants […] and eateries within walking distance, as is the Metro. There's a great empanada place about a block a way that is also worth checking out. Used my 1 free night from hotels.com to stay here overnight after a fun evening out in the city with my wife. It was delightful. The room is really spacious and the hotel ambience is really nice. Lots to do in the neighborhood with many restaurant options. Highly recommend it.

Cool without pretension, this hotel was in a great location for our visit, and the staff was really friendly without being overbearing. The evening wine reception was well attended and a nice treat, and though we didn't have a pet with us, it's fun to be around animals while in a hotel.
