"Okay place to stay for the money"
This hotel is very close to Hwy 24 so is very convenient. The hotel hasn't been kept up as well as it might. We were on the second floor and some of the stair coverings had been ripped off, but not to the point where it was dangerous to use the steps. "Good for Overnighter"
The room was clean, however the bathroom was tiny! The shower needed some maintenance, and it was hard to get an even water temperature for a shower. The area around the hotel was great, as it was loaded with restaurants, and gas stations. The morning desk person gave us the name of a wonderful restaurant on our route home.
"Great room for the money"
This motel was clean and well-kept. The building probably dates to the 1970s and in some ways shows its age. But the carpet, furnishings, appliances and all other aspects of the room were quite satisfactory. The building had been freshly painted. The neighborhood felt safe: it was situated with service stations and restaurants common to Interstate highway […] interchanges. Service was minimal, but we did not require service other than check-in and check-out. This room was a good value and I will stay there again. Remember: this is a two-star hotel. "Quick overnight stop off on road trip back to michigan Horrible!!!"
I had called ahead and spoke to someone about needing a crib in our room and we'd be later check in. I had to ask again for a crib ( was told she'd waive the normal crib fee- i have never paid for one at a days inn before) when I got there, I had to wheel it myself to my room (outside entrances) We were given a room assignment and key that did not work, […] went Back to office, got new key, still did not work- Oh because Someone was already in that room. Went back to office, got new room assignment- much farther away. put crib together for my toddler and had no bed linens for it. Went back to the office and was told they did not have any. So I asked for 2 sheets (I can make this work) she had to go get them and bring it to me. when she arrived, she was only going to give me one (I specifically asked for 2) so I reminded her of this as she was holding a stck of them and she reluctantly gave me the second. WOW customer service! the table in the room was broken, the air conditioner worked but looked like it had been in a fight and not won, and the refrigerator in the room was not even plugged in to use if we had wanted. The outlet by the bed had no cover- this was a scary place. We crashed becasue we had driven 10 hours in rain to get this far and had 9 more hours the next day. "Tricky with pets"
Positive: --- Clean - Room was relatively clean --- Staff - Lobby staff was friendly --- Accouterments - Room had nice microwave and relatively large mini-fridge --- TV - had great selection of cable TV channels, including HBO Negative: --- Lighting - Room was dark. Even with every light in the room on, it was dark. CF bulbs had been placed in all […] fixtures to conserve power, which is fine, but they were of such low out put as to be inadequate to properly light a room of that size. --- Pool - Pool was closed (if you are booking this motel for the pool, call ahead to be sure) --- Breakfast - They require you eat your breakfast in the lobby, you are not allowed to take your breakfast back to your room to enjoy in the privacy of your room... they do not prohibit other foods in the room (on the contrary there is a microwave and fridge in the room) so to my way of thinking this is preposterous and unacceptable. --- Pets - This motel was very pet friendly, ***but*** there is a fee for pets not listed on the hotels.com website. I booked my room on hotels.com and was not asked if I had pets or asked to pay the fee, but the gentleman who checked-in in front of me was asked to pay the fee if he had pets. Be sure to call the motel before/after making your reservation if you have pets and determine if you will be charged the pet fee ***in addition to*** the rate you are being charged by hotels.com. Neutral: --- Price - Rate was a bit high for the quality level of the motel, however, if have pets and you can secure the room at the hotels.com rate and not pay any additional pet fee, then it is a decent value.
