Homewood Suites Melville

My family is in the area, so we've stayed at a variety of hotels in the greater Huntington area (Melville/Commack/Huntington/Syosset) over the years. The Homewood Suites in Plainview/Melville is definitely the best one we've tried. We had to come in to town unexpectedly for a funeral, and booked pretty last minute. When we arrived, we had perhaps our […] one big glitch - the credit card I gave upon check in was declined - then I was told no, my card was fine, it was actually the card used by hotels.com that was declined (the front desk guy told us this happens a lot) but I guess that's not really a big deal, as we were able to check in just fine and did not have to argue or prove it was prepaid. Our room was a one bedroom suite, which I would highly recommend. It seemed like the rooms were set up so there was a living room "buffer zone" between bedrooms, which really helped with the noise. There was some noise from the room upstairs - running around kind of noises - in the morning, but we were already up, so it didn't interfere with our sleep. The plumbing is quite loud, though, and every time I flushed the toilet I was afraid I'd wake up my husband (I'm pregnant, so that happened a few times each night). Otherwise, the room was clean and well-appointed. I appreciated that the blackout shades overlapped and actually kept out the sunlight. I had to check the clock when I woke up, since I had no idea if it was morning. The breakfast buffet was quite nice - a variety of hot and cold choices, although the scrambled eggs were too wet for my liking. I love the belgian waffle maker, though! I rated the room a 4 for comfort because the bed was a little harder than I'm used to and the pillows were super-soft (we prefer firmer pillows, as we're both side sleepers). Next time, I'll probably bring my own pillows to make it more like home. I had to search for a minute to find the hair dryer, but only b/c I wasn't expecting it to be in its own little drawstring pouch. The hotel isn't Leer más

Enjoyed our stay. Great staff and comfortable, clean rooms. Great heated pools and exercise rooms. Affordable prices. Only down side: At night the air smelled faintly of cigarettes.

Overall, very nice hotel with a friendly staff. I would stay here again.

We absolutely loved this place! The room was very spacious and he beds were super comfortable. The staff was great too. There was a nice breakfast in the morning and had a great variety of breakfast food. Loved the pool too. Overall great place, good price and convenient location!

Staff was excellent, breakfast was good. Room was okay but noisey because it was on 1st floor by the service staffs locker room and the back door.

We were very happy with our stay. We had looked extensively and checked a lot of reviews. This hotel was the one with the most positive comments and everything reported was correct.

This was our second stay at the Homewood Suites and we wish there was a Homewood Suite wherever we travelled. The service was great, the room (suite) is very clean and we were pleasantly surprised that breakfast was served on weekends and dinner on weeknights (included). We would definitely recommend it and we will definitely stay there again.

Great hotel, comfortable, clean. Filling breakfast. (Dinners available some nights, too.) Good clean pool, friendly staff. The suites are great for families. The only quibble is a silly one: the hotel website and google maps shows the hotel location on the north side of the LIE. It's not. very nice hotel. left my bathrobe behind and it was put into the laundry by the time i realized it was missing. hope it makes it back to me (for a reasonable fee). nice continental breakfast as well. thanks

The hotel was clean, cofortable and well maintained.

I liked everything about the hotel and the breakfast is always a welcome perk for families traveling. The staff was very pleasant and friendly.

This hotel is clean, comfortable inside the room and out. Offers a great central location to anything you could need or want. My boys 12 & 13 loved the pool and spa area, clean as well, also comfortable water temps, not overly clorinated.

If you are looking for a quick get away from NYC I would encorouge you to visit this property. It is clean, it is calm and quiet, service is on point and the area is short of beautiful. Rooms are nicely decorated and facilities are well kept. I spend two days with my fiancé and we are definitely coming back. Sheers!!!

Great location, rooms are very clean with great room service. Excellent access to the Long Island Expressway.

Our one-night stay was perfect, room was clean and spacious, crib for our daughter was left in our room per our request, breakfast was great. Long Island is beautiful and Homewood Suites represents that well.

My stay for 3 nights with my wife and our two daughters was beautiful. We stayed in one of the one-bedroom suite and everything was as described. The breakfast buffet was very good, the hotel was very clean and the front desk guy I interacted with was very friendly and helpful in searching for restaurants in the neighborhood. Very accommodating staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms were big and comfortable. We loved breakfast and jacuzzi evenings. This find is a keeper. We will be back.

The 1 bedroom suite was very comfortable for my two little ones ansd myself. The only complaint is that it was very small and the kitchen was adequately stocked but no toaster oven. The free meals were nice but the evening dinners were first come first serve, by the last hour there was no bread left and they were not refilling the basket. Also no drinks […] left for the diners. We spent 9 days/8 nights and loved our stay. It was a family vacation and each night we were comfortable! The morning breakfast buffets and Mon-Thurs dinners were great. The food was very well prepared and it was very convenient. The staff was very friendly and accomodated all of our requests. The only issue we experienced was that the indoor pool area […] was HOT, like unbearably hot (thermostat registered 92 degrees). We didn't spend much time in the pool and the staff said there wasn't much they could do to improve the comfort of the room. Would highly reccomend this to travelers, we plan to stay here next year on our return trip to Long Island. Leer más

Homewood Suites on Long Island is quite lovely. Nice winding driveway leading to warm comfortable open lobby. From the first night's stay to the last day we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were quite clean, family friendly with open full kitchen, dishwasher and fridge were more than sufficient for our weekend needs. We especially loved the […] pool, spa and full buffet. As an ex resident of Suffolk county, this location allowed me easy access to the Long Island Rail Road station in Hicksville, or to the LIE to visit Suffolk County.

This hotel was very new, and very well done. The common areas as well as the room were very clean, and well decorated. Front desk service was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for the price.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay...bed big and comfortable, plenty of pillows. Enjoyed the complimentary hot & cold breakfast buffet. The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel it self was very clean.

This hotel is an excellent stay. We paid just a little more than some other hotel but got so much more. Clean, spacious, modern and convenient. Food was great, service delightful, and wonderful amenities. I plan on choosing this hotel again!

I have paid alot more for alot less of a hotel. This hotel was one of the best i have been to in a very long time. there price is very reasonable and there services are more then what you would expect. No matter what I had paid for this hotel, it was hands down the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. I have been all over Manhattan and Long Island, and this place with its suites, pool, kitchen, large beds, cleanliness and great breakfast made a lasting impression on my whole family.

The room was so much nicer than I anticipated. It is competitive with the Marriott Residence Inns that I really love that also offer all the conveniences of an extended stay hotel. The bed was really comfortable and my daughter slept on the queen size sofa bed without difficulty. We paid a little more than we would have liked but I gotta say, I didn't […] feel ripped off. It was a very nice room and the people at the desk were great as we arrived late. Nice breakfast in the morning -- they even serve free dinner Monday through Thursday, although we came on a Friday.
