good location, room sufficient for a one night stay. If you have a car you can get around easily as the highway is a block away, and the airport is a 10 minute drive. Good for out of town guest.

My girlfriend and I were hoping to make a small sightseeing tour of New York before she flew out the next morning, so we chose this hotel based on a combination of its proximity to JFK and the reviews of it I had found. The room was clean, handsome, and comfortable, with the bathroom the same; internet access was quick and easy; the continental breakfast was satisfying; and the hotel staff were very helpful (namely, when my room key stopped working; they fixed it immediately for me). This hotel was very nice for the price we paid. It's fairly convenient to the Subway (take the Briarwood Station, it's a nicer walk) and because our room was at the back of the hotel highway noise was not a problem. This hotel did its job by providing me an inexpensive nights stay in the NY right by the airport. Room was in order and my only complaint was that it did smell like smoke in the room even though it said it was a smoke free room. However the front desk guy did go and freshen the room up. The hotel was OK.. kinda small, but a great location between the JFK airport and the Van Wyk subway stop... you can take the E or F train straight to downtown manhattan for $2.

The staff at the Hotel is and was very much not willing to assist.

THIS HOTEL DOES NOT OFFER SHUTTLE SERVICE TO KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, dispite assurances over the phone that it did. Not that much of a problem for me, because I was dropping someone off and had my own vehicle. But when I tried to suggest to the desk clerk that misinformation could be problematic for others, he became defensive, rude, and then […] offensive. Very convenient to the subway, just a short walk away. Hotel was clean, neighborhood quiet. Only minor problem was the TV reception went out for a while one night.

Conveniently located to JFK and the NYC Subway. Hotel is in fair condition. Neighborhood is OK. Rooms are very small and ours had a funky smell. Count on a LOT of street noise from the adjacent Van Wyck Expressway. Service is basically non-existent. The room was clean and the airconditioner worked great. Although they advertise free wi-fi, it did not work on the third floor. Apparently the repeater is outdated or not working well because my connection timed out whenever attempting to log-on. I took my labtop down to the lobby, logged-on and then went back upstairs and it worked ok, although very […] slow. My only other complaint was doors banging closed very loudly up until 3:00 am. I would never stay in this hotel again. As I entered the room, I looked in the bathroom, and there was bubbled up wall paper and mold all over the top of the walls and cieling. I only had an 8 hour stay, so I decided to ignore it and just go to bed. At 2am, I felt water hitting my face on my second floor room. The cieling was leaking, and I am lucky […] I got up so fast because part of it ended up falling on the bed/pillow where i was sleeping. I called down to the front desk immediately, and the responce I got was, "is the other bed dry, you can sleep on that one". They refused to change my room. When I clecked out, they took my number to call me about a refund, but it has been over a week and I have heard nothing. I would rather sleep in the JFK airport than stay in this dirt bag hotel. We stayed at the Best Western Jamaica Inn for 3 nights while attending the US Open and were very pleased with the service and cleanliness of the hotel, as well as its location. We were about 3 blocks from the subway which took us to the Open in about 30 minutes. Would definitely stay there again.

I loved it except that there was no hot water.

I would recommend the BW Jamaica Inn as a good place to stay.

The hotel is located at a very bad neighberhood. You get frightened to go out at night. If you drive a car coming from north not along the cost it is very difficult to find the hotel location. The rooms are very noisy because of the nearby road. The price is relatively too high.

The guy at the front desk for the night was rude.

Affordability and overall quality above expectations for the price/NYC location! Refrig and microwave in room is a must for storing drinks/reheating our leftovers from favorite Manhattan restaurants. I was a woman traveling alone to visit my son who was at a program at St. John's University. The subway was a short 3 block walk that was safe and easy to negotiate. The room was very clean, AC worked well and hotel staff very helpful. I flew in to LGA and it was an easy commute from the airport by public transportation ($4.50). The only downside is […] that it's about a one hour commute to Manhattan sites. I was there primarily to visit so I put up with the long subway ride, the F train is an express and helps shave some time off. There is a restaurant around the corner from the hotel that was reasonably priced (for New York) and easily accessed. Their complimentary Breakfast was woefully horrible, but other than that they had a pretty decent place & service. Taking everything into account, the price I paid for the hotel room was pretty steep and they are not located anywhere near the city as well.

The hotel was not fully booked and I was surprised to find that I was assigned to a room in the basement level. When I looked ou the window, all I could see were the wheels of a vehicle in the parking lot. I was kept awake all night with a constant banging outside my door. This hotel could not have been better for this price. I was in New York for the first time and the location was perfect, near to the subway, the neiborhood is not the best but is not dangerous. The room was small but there was plenty of room for us and our luggage, very clean bathroom and the breakfast and the free wifi were ok

We had to come to New York for a family function. This was our second stay at this particular hotel, I must admit the second time around was a little better than the first. The price was reasonable , the location was close to where we had to go, and overall the room was comfortable and suited our family of 3.

We wanted a place to stay close to JFK and this looked good from the reviews. I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean the facility is and how nicely we were treated by the staff. The complimentary breakfast was very good. I would stay here again if traveling through using JFK.

This is hotel is satisfactory location is excellent walking distance to subway station and they have a parking spot for your cars both outside and underground parking and does not cause you anything.

The breakfast was very good. Only thing I would add is yogurt. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Small but that is what you get in NYC. Front desk staff very helpful. I would stay here again.

The room was small but it was a good place to crash and it wasn't nearly as expensive as staying in Manhattan. The breakfast that they had was good.

If you are looking for a good hotel to stay at while you explore New York City this is a great hotel. It is very close to the subway, it provides a complimentary breakfast that is more than decent, and the beds are comfy. OK for a night's stay but would not recommend for more than that. Business center closes at 5:00 PM, which obviates using computer. Room wifi is adequate and lobby wifi good.

Small hotel, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast room was kept well, food was fine. Subway station two blocks away and easy to get to. Neighborhood is fine. Noise from expressway not a problem. Would stay here again.

I searched for a hotel near JFK. Having stayed in Best Western JFK in the past & been happy with it, I typed in JFK Best Western. Best Western Jamaica came up. Since JFK Best Western is in Jamaica, I mistakenly assumed it was the same hotel. My error. It was a $20 taxi ride each way with no other convenient way to get there. It's essentially mid-way […] between JFK & LGA. Very nice neighborhood, but not convenient as a quick overnight for JFK w/ no shuttle service & a staff that was unable to give us coherent info to get there except via taxi. We called the Best Western phone number but the person there made the reservations through Hotel.Com. When making the reservations through Hotel.Com there is a "Foreign Trnasacton Fee" of 3% of your total hotel bill. We were not made aware of this until we received our charge card bill. I would only recommend this hotel because is is close to St John's Univ. The first room's windows would not lock and the clerk was slow about giving me another room.

It had the Best western quality and I still haven't been to a best western that didn't have a great quality compared to the amount a money you pay. It's outside of Manhattan but there is good subway (2 min walk from the subway) connection to times squares and Manhattan in general. I have stayed in Manhattan and now in Queens in this hotel and I would […] for sure choose this one again. Based on the prize, quality of the hotel and because you can jump on a Subway any where on Manhattan/suburbs and be in your hotel room within 45 min. Staying in Manhattan unless you are right there in times squares and Broadway, you probably have to take a cab or subway and walk a good distance to get to your hotel, and you'll still pay twice as much for something that is horrible. Overall, very satisified with the cleanliness of the room and the check in clerk being very helpfull. A few more channels on the tv wouldn't be a bad thing.
