Yosemite View Lodge

Waterfall below our porch was beautiful. Just at the entrance to Yosemite.

The grounds are well maintained but the interiors are a bit frumpy and 1960's in style. Roomy bathroom and small kitchenette as extras were appreciated. Convenient location cannot be beat. We had a wonderful stay and felt the hotel offered everything we needed. The view from the balcony was wonderful and our room was clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the fireplace in our room. We plan to return again soon.

Paid a few extra $ to get a room with a view to the river. Got a big, comfortable room with a beautifull view up the river towards Yosemite Valley. Great room with a fireplace. Would certainly recommend it to others - close to Yosemite Valley, nice restaurants and a small shop next to the reception with all your necessaties.

Its in the middle of nowhere, so an oasis for sure. Good to have such a place in yosemite where one would find it difficult to get anything. Only concern, front desk never pick up when u dial 0. pathetic.

Clean well-maintained hotel.. Helpful staff.. Would have been nice to have blinds on the bathroom window facing the walkway outside the rooms.

This place was pretty nice and very close to the Arch Stone entrance. It was about 6 miles to yosemite valley. We were very lucky because we went towards the end of october so it was not very crowded. It is in the middle of nowhere and there are only two places to eat outside of the park, which wasnt that big of a deal. The hotel restaurant which was […] a bit pricey, but they served large portions and the pizza place which we didnt got to, but I heard it was good. There is a mini store in the hotel and another one down the street about a 1/2 mile. The prices are a bit higher, so if you can bring your own snacks, drinks, and, breakfast stuff as they have a fridge and stove at the hotel if you are down to do a little cooking. Leer más

Terrific location - shame we only stayed 1 night, located just outside the park. large beautifully furnished rooms. huge bath the kids thought it was a swimming pool in the bathroom. balcony opens to the yosemite river, to sit on the balcony and listen to the gushing water over the rapids was very serene. the hotel sits at the base of a tall mountain […] range, very beautiful location, large property heaps of parking (free) choice of pools and spas. Onsite resturant and pizza palour so you wont go hungry. Hotel reception also has an ajoining grocery/gift shop for all essential needs including alcohol. Great hotel, nice staff, good location. Only problem was no internet in rooms. But overall experience was great!

Compared to price of hotels/resorts in the park, this place is a real deal. Pizza good with excellent salad bar. We spent 3 days hiking and touring in the park and the drive is not that bad. I definitely recoommend.

This hotel is only 10 miles from Yosemite Valley west gate. I would recommend this hotel for its price and proximity to the valley. Avoid the main restaurant and try the Bar & Grill instead. You're better off buying groceries and cooking it yourself. I was very wary booking a hotel sight unseen, but was pleasantly surprised. This place is sooo conveniently close the park entrance. The room was clean and had a fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. Room was a good size, but pretty basic furnishings. Had a good dinner in the restaurant. Overall, very happy with our stay. Will come back.

This place was clean and a convenient distance from Yosemite. I liked that we could fix our own meals. All in all, not bad and would return again.

There were tons of bed bugs in my room we have to switch to another room in the middle of the night and left the next day

Good sized room, cleaned efficiently, with balcony towards the main road. Two ring hotplate, microwave, saucepan, small frying pan, basic utensils and plates, coffee maker. Great value compared to staying inside the park and a really pleasant short drive to get in and out. Very good value but a few niggles. Broadband access $9 per day. Ridiculous. […] OK you can access for free at the lounge at Curry Village, but this is a hotel. Only a numpty would formulate such a policy. At check in they couldn’t cope with me having booked an extra day before arrival. The clerk suggested I checked out and in again on my fifth day, even though I had been allocated the same room. Fortunately, I mentioned this to a more organised desk clerk (Jimmy) the next evening and he sorted it out. Even so, on return from a day’s hiking on the last night the electronic key didn’t open the door and another had to be obtained from reception. The floor in the room could do with a thorough clean. If you have a shower before bed and then again in the morning when you get up, black dirt comes off your feet in the shower. This can only have come from the filthy carpet. The restaurant is a comedy. You get a pager to tell you when your table is ready and can go back to your room for half an hour or so in the off season; who knows how this place operates when it’s busy. If at first glance you think the menu is pretentious you would be correct – in spades. You will wait another twenty minutes for your "server" to come and take your order. You can tell when he is on his way; he is the overdressed one. There are dozens of other staff milling around, getting in the way and generally adding no value at all. The system must have been devised by a demented union boss looking to employ as many people as possible. Go for the fish and chips; it’s overcooked halibut with Macdonald style chips. Hotel is located approx. 15 min. before entering the park. It has a good restaurant and self service offers. Easy to carry on travelling south towards Bakersfield or to the east over the Tioga pass (if not closed due to snow). Internet connection is charged extra.

The hotel is only a few minutes from the entrance to Yosemite and the river front rooms have a large patio as well as a gas FP and a galley kitchen. At about the same price you could stay at the Yosemite Lodge but without those amenities.

Great location. The hotel is 5 minutes drive from the park entrance. Also, there is a river running in front of the hotel which creates a nice atmosphere. The rust and mold in the bathroom bother me a bit until my husband picked up athletes foot. I was annoyed then. The restaurant served uncooked rice as the side dish on the food we ordered. When we […] complained, the waiter gave us an attitude. Right after the incident, the table next door complained about the same stuff. Hard, raw, uncooked rice. Hotel location is excellent~ 20mins drive to Yosemite village. Located beside Merced river. Great hot tub at the river side. More than warm pool. You must book the room facing the river. You could turn off light sitting at balcony watching the star and listening the river sound~ so relaxing~

With exception of de restaurant, the other services need urgent improvement, specially the with regards the ladies in the reception.

They do not include breakfast in the hotel which the others offer.

Location is great but for the money they make room should be clearner.

Closest to valley floor! No internet in rooms. Internet in lobby only by the hour. Food services onsite over priced. There is a good store about 3 miles west with a lot of options including produce and meat.

We enjoyed very much our stay. Room was big and well equipped. The pizza restaurant was excelent. The convenience store pricey. No wireless connection available at the room, only way paying at the lobby. Good attention.

The location of this motel on the Merced River is fantastic. We went to sleep to the roar of the river and could sit on the patio and watch it. The hotel is also very close to Yosemite. Rooms near the road are too loud.

Best feature - view of white-water Merced river from the balcony. Regular restaurant is mediocre, but the pizza restaurant on-site is excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were quiet. A/C is a little quirky, but works. Right outside of Yosemite entrance, buy gas before getting there - virtually no commercial services nearby.

This hotel has a great location. Just a few minutes drive from the park entrance. Our room had a large terrace looking out to the river. The room was outdated and old, but kept clean. Pricey for the quality of room, but a bargain considering the price of hotels inside the park.

might want to do something about the raccoons in the evening time!

Great place to have a home base if you are visiting the park. This hotel is convenient and has a lot of charm because of it's proximity on the river. Will stay again for sure.

Nice hotel - very close to Yosemite Park, our destination - had room with river view which was beautiful - room neat and clean and well maintained - fireplace, a nice surprise - food in its restaurant was okay - dinner was so-so, would not recommend pasta; breakfast buffet (only choice) was good, lots of choices - two outdoor pools and an indoor pool […] - did not use because of time and October weather - enjoyed our stay, would return there if we visited this part of U.S. again Leer más

Location is fine. Room was fine. I would recommend if in-park facilities were not available. They advertise WiFI... but don't say that you have to pay $9/day fee for the WiFi, which is only available in the hotel lobby, not the rooms. Also, only breakfast option was full buffet, an expensive option if one only wants a continental b'fast.

This place was close to the Yosemite Valley, where all the main things are in the park. Because the View Lodge is also on the Valley floor, the road to the Park is flatter than other approaches. We had no problem getting in and out of the Park through the gate that is nearest. As for the Hotel, ratings depend on what you look for in a place to stay. For […] us, clean, safe rooms with close access to the park was important...this hotel fit the bill. However, if you are the kind of person who cares about decor, having the newest in TV, WiFi, etc, then you might just want to spring the extra money or time to stay somewhere else. The hotel is situated just outside the Yosemite National Park, perfectly positioned for seeing it and for travelling into it from the western side. My room was excellent, the restaurant was first-class, there is a good shop, and several swimming pools. I would strongly recommend the hotel.
