Novotel Edinburgh Centre

Es un hotel muy recomendable. Muy bien ubicado y de fácil acceso al centro de la ciudad. El desayuno muy copioso y delicioso. El personal muy amable.

Really great. Only problem was the odd layout of the room. Staff were extremely accomodating and allowed us to check in at 9 in the morning and a free late checkout til 5 pm even though they were very busy as it was a match weekend.

The hotel is comfortable and clean. However, didn't find it child friendly. Went with two kids under ( 1 & 3). Most rooms have no wardrobes or drawers, once cotbed and sofabed is put out no room space at all. Heating didn't work and sink blocked. A good hotel with all the necessary facilities and close to main sights. Only negative was the restaurant. This was undergoing some refurbishment which resulted in poor meals during our stay. Service generally helpful and pleasant.

Staff we dealt with very friendly and helpful, certainly could not fault quality of the staff. Superior family room quite small and rooms very hot even after turning down the thermostat, had to have window open at all times, which made the noise of traffic a problem at night when trying to sleep. Location of hotel for central edinburgh not bad, we walked […] back and forth quite easily with a 12 year old. Swimming pool a bonus especially if you have children. Hotel decor not too bad but could do with a freshen up. Worst point about the hotel is the parking, only 15 spaces and quite expensive - have to pay every time you leave the car park, if you don't get a hotel parking space, will find parking for any length of time a problem if you don't use the NCP car park again very expensive. Good location, friendly helpfull staff. 12 noon checkout and late breakfast til 12 made for a relaxing weekend and the opportunity for one more swim in the warm pool and a steam room treat before heading home. All round a nice stay in a great city.

Have stayed here before; a recommendation in itself. Only problem this time was that we were given one of the rooms designated for disabled guests. This has happened before when we have only stayed for one night at other Novotels. I've stayed at various Novotels and the quality of environment and service is always consistent with their aspirations, unlike many other chains I could mention SheratonHilton. The Edinburgh Novotel provided everything we needed from a hotel when staying away with young kids (5 & 2). Games/toys for them, a nice pool, play area, decent bedroom, fridge […] in the room which we can use for milk etc. without being maced with charges. The staff were all excellent and the food was pretty good, although not as nice as in the Heathrow Novotel. The rack rate is a bit unrealistic but booking through Hotels.com it was almost as cheap as a Travelodge etc. At that price I don't mind spending money in the bar/restaurant etc. Leer más

Great hotel just north of the city centre, great pool and steam room.

Novotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the centre but in walking distance to shops and castle. We had a very pleasant stay and made use of the pool facilities. Very clean and well organised hotel. Area was quiet and noise was minimal. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great weekend break with 2 young children ( aged 1 and 5). We checked in at 11am on Sat and checked out at 5pm on Sunday - fantastic! Staff very helpful and friendly, good breakfast, pool bit small but fun and we visited 3 times! Only negative points were - Swim changing room tiny - suggest getting changed in own room. stayed for two nighs 4th -6th november,hotel is clean,, great breakfast, pool,sauna,etc was very nice,hotel staff friendly and polite.and hotel in good location for exploring edinburgh on foot,would recommend and will return to this hotel,

Location is quite good. You can walk to all the main attractions. Breakfast was very good! We had a very early departure at 5 am for the airport. A very nice person at the reseption went out of his way to fix us a breakfast to go! That is the kind of servise you don't receive very often. Ten points for that! Otherwise service was ok. In the restaurants […] a little unproffessional at times, but people were trying their best. For dinner after 6 pm. it was difficult to find restaurants that would accept kids. So we ended up eating at the hotel more than we wanted to. The food at the hotel was ok, though. Leer más

Great, clean, friendly hotel. Room was far too hot, (window open / window closed / AC on / AC off), but no matter. I'd stay again in an instant.

This hotel is close to the city centre, convenient and has great service. It is in good condition.

Not a child friendly hotel at all.

Great location to many sites in Edinburgh. Overall hotel was nice, but hand-faucet leaked on floor and some of the restaurant staff seemed a little over=worked and were a bit grumpy. But the front desk were very helpful whenever we turned to them.

Very convenient for old town ( castle, grassmarket, museum of Scotland etc ). Buses to the rest of Edinburgh close by. Service great, but restaurant, though good, a bit slow. Breakfast buffet good. Nice to have a pool for the odd rainy day

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They were also very knowledgeable about Edinburgh and help with directions, sightseeing tours, etc. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great hotel just half a mile south of Princes' Street its clean and has good facilites.

Quite impresssed with this hotel as it was definately a cut above the average hotel. The leisure centre was one of our main reasons for booking this hotel and the kids absoltely loved it. The lacation of the hotel was in a nice clean area but a little too far to walk into town with two small kids so found ourselves using the public bus quite a lot (stoped […] just up from the hotel). Our family room sleeping 4 was a little small and very little space but well kept and bed was actually very comfortable! Overall very happy with our first stay in this hotel and in Edinburgh. Very nice hotel furnished and maintained to a high standard. Only criticism concerns reception whereby only 1 receptionist was available at the busiest time of the day - resulted in long delays.Also had trouble obtaining my payment receipt (which I am still awaiting) as it could not be provided at booking out as there appeared to be problems with the […] computer system!! This hotel is very comfortable to stay at providing one is able to make the hike to the popular attractions. The hotel pool is tiny and located in the basement. The whirlpool emits such fumes that it is difficult to swim.

Good location. New, clean comfortable good size rooms with double sofa bed that accepts 2 adults and 2 kids. Good breakfast spread. Only flaw was disconcerting black substance coming out of shower head at bathtub. No response for repair after call to front desk who promised to send someone to look. We still had the shower to use. Free wi-fi in lobby […] but free in-room would be great. Overall, very good and reasonable price. Leer más

This is a chain hotel, and as such you know what you're getting. It's clean, it's well run, it has everything you'd expect at a Novotel. However, the rooms are badly designed - the toilet is separate as you walk in the room, with no washbasin (disgusting!), and there are glass doors (that don't meet properly) to the bathroom next to the bed. It would […] have been easy to have a solid wall where the glass doors are, and the entry to the bathroom where the toilet is, but they went for style over usability. If travelling as a couple, you might not mind the lack of privacy, but when travelling with teenagers, it's not really acceptable, and not being able to wash you hands after using the loo is unacceptable. Another gripe, which I find at many hotels, not just this one - we booked a room for three, they put up an extra bed, so they new that we were a group of three, but they leave two cups, two saucers, two tea bags.... it's the attention to detail that make a 'chain' hotel stand out from the rest, and this one just didn't manage it. On the plus side, the location is good, close to museums and theatres, the pool area seemed nice, and the staff were pleasant enough. Pretty good stay. Everything i would expect and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast expensive in my opinion but great location near grassmarket.

3 nights accommodation at Novotel, Edinburgh - very satisfied with all aspects - cleanliness, service, location and food. Will definately use this hotel again on my regular visits to Edinburgh and will recommend to friends and family.

We booked this hotel several months ago, and were told there were no double rooms, so went for two superior twins. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were told there were no more twin rooms left and we had to have one twin, one double, fine. Our twin room was not a twin room, but a had one double bed and one terrible and ridiculous sofa bed! I have no idea […] how a supposed 4* hotel can expect to sell their rooms with a metal framed, very uncomfortable sofa bed. Due to them not being able to offer a suitable alternative I had to share a bed with my sister, something I've not done since I was a baby. We were offered no solution and no compensation. Upon arrival at the hotel I spotted what looked like a blood stain on the floor of the lift, which I pointed out to a member of staff who was travelling in the lift with us who remarked that it could be red wine. Two days later the same red mark was still on the floor of the lift. Disgusting. There were dirty stains all up the walls of our hotel room, stains on the base of our lamp, wallpaper coming off the walls, bugs in the bath, urination marks up the outside walls of the hotel and rubbish and dust on the floors which weren't hoovered once in the entire time we stayed. At breakfast, plates had to be sorted through to see which ones didn't have dried on egg and dirt and hair on them. And mouldy fruit was left out as part of the breakfast buffet. We got no apology until the final day and the only form of compensation offered was a free upgrade to an executive suite on a return visit within the next year. I will not be staying here ever again. Does what it says on the tin. Friendly staff and a small but complete pool/sauna area. Exactly what's needed after a day on a tour bus.

Nice hotel. Location is good. About 10 mins walk to Princes Street, castle etc. There is a sainsburys local on corner. We took taxi to Edinburgh Zoo cost about £8 single way but worth it for kids. Room was very pleasant but could do with a vacuum. Very good childrens menu on room service.

Lovely hotel within walking distance of Castle and Princess Street, would definately stay there again.

Very good location for exploring Edinburgh even in the snow. Just round the corner from the lovely Grassmarket. Fab hotel with the bonus of a spa and swimming pool. Also recommend the breakfast especially the haggis. No faults found with this hotel.
