Not a fancy hotel by any means - but for the price if you're all about the location this place can't be beat. Very well located and has everything you need if you're on a budget. Excellent place very close to the most of the attractions. Some noise from the outside, but for the price very good value. Book this hotel WITHOUT breakfast, there is a cheap and well sorted breakfastplace nearby. (not even hot coffee at the hotel!!)

I stayed there 2 nights in October. The location is amazing! 5 minutes to the main attractions but off the main road. breakfast was good. Room was clean and modern. The only thing was that it was facing the back of the building which made it quite dark and I was facing all the rubbish bags they put out there. But as I was out most of the day anyway […] I put up with it. I don't think it is very well insulated and it depends on your neighbours how loud/quiet it is but overall I would stay there again. Nice, simple, clean, good-price and well located.

Very impressed with this hotel. Clean, friendly staff and excellent location. Free wi-fi too and the bar was a nice place to spend the evening, with friendly local staff. Wouldn't bother looking for any place else to stay when i head back to Budapest!

the hotel made our stay in Budapest gr8, the location, staff and room were wonderful especially for the price. If I go back to Budapest I would stay there again. The reception people were so friendly and helpful, thanks for a great experience!!!

The hotel was located in the center of Budapest. So this place was a really good "home base" for me. The hotel itself was clean and functional, as in typical European hotels. The people at the front desk were very helpful in general, and they spoke English well. If I ever go to Budapest again, I would stay here again.

I've just returned from a very enjoyable 5 night stay at the Pilvax Hotel, Pest, Budapest. The hotel is located under half a mile from the centre of town on a pedestrian street (also called Pilvax). It's the perfect location if your interested in seeing the shops and bars of Pest and only a few streets from the Danube. If your flying into Terminal1 […] with Wizzair you will find that its only a 2 minute walk from the Wizzbuss drop off. On arrival, on a very cold day, we were greeted by a very friendly assistant at the front desk. Her English was impeccable and supplied us with a map of the city along with flyers of the local sites. We were placed in a twin room on the first floor overlooking the main entrance. The room consisted of two decent sized beds, firm but with a soft topping, a TV showing German and American TV, a large lockable fridge and a compact bathroom with an excellent shower, large double wardrobe and table and chairs. The room was a fair size and easily enough space for me and my drinking buddy, we are both well over 6 foot and found the beds very comfortable. All the staff at the hotel were very helpful, with the main desk being manned 24hours allowing you to come and go as you please at any hour. This can be important in Budapest as many bars and clubs are tucked away underground and you loose track of the time. On the same street as the hotel you have the Pilvax restaurant and bar (both part of the hotel but accessible from the exterior too) and the Guinness house, a fantastic modern Irish Bar. In the GH you can get excellent food from 11am, as well as fine hot and cold drinks with good banter from the customers and staff who come from a range of nationalities. Not far away you have all the high fashion outlets of pest, as well as being a 10 minute walk from the Octagon which leads to all the top night spots in Pest. The Pilvax Hotel, Budapeat is in an excellent location, close to all amenities. Only 5 mins to metro and 3 stops to the main railway station in rhe West End. Great value and I would defenitely recomment it.

the room assigned to us was very samll and tight. you could hardly move around and the bathroom as so small that you can't even make any movements. there are no amenities like shampoo's etc. the best thing to this hotel inspit e with all these comments is that the girl behing the counter Victoria is the best thing that ever happened to this hotel she […] was very helpful and always with a smile. what a gem of a person. i wish i could say the same thing with the guy who took over the night shift. not too friendly. great location near to shops and bars with easy access to sights. very good cafe 'gerloczy' oposite the irish bar at the end of the steet. no lift in the hotel but only two floors so not a major problem. no real bargins to be had but very nice people and enjoyable place

Great hotel in a good location near to bars and restaurants and 5 minutes from a metro station. Staff were helpful and polite.

We selected this hotel mainly for its central location. We were very satisfied with the service and the standard of cleanliness. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel restaurant twice for dinner and we were impressed by the superb food, well cooked and served up magnificently. The breakfast buffet was well organized, well prepared […] and with coffee and drinks made to order. We didn't require the services of a lift but for those that do, the hotel unfortunately does not have one. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we would use this hotel again. Leer más

Hotel staff was fantastic. Rooms were of an adequate size and very comfortable for both of us and all of our luggage. The hotel is very convenient and within walking distance to local sights or to the nearest metro. I plan to stay there again on my next visit to Budapest.

Location was fantastic. Convenient to food and markets. Receptionist was very good. Hard work lugging bags up three stories.

a fantastic hotel - big, absolutely spotless rooms - situated on a lovely street in Pest with plenty of great restuarants and cafes! only a few minutes walk away from the Danube - Buda can be easily reached on foot from the hotel. very friendly, helpful staff. only (very slight) downside is that there is a bar underneath the hotel which got a bit noisy […] in our first floor room on the Friday night - but not unbearable by any means! would recommend that people who might be bothered by this ask for a room on the second floor. other than that, a truly great stay in a lovely hotel! pros: -location next to Vaci Utca (main shopping street) and close to Danube River helpful hotel staff -computer with free internet access in lobby -price cons: -no elevator. had to carry luggage up to the first floor walk across the hotel then carry up another flight to the second floor. I suggest requesting a room on the first floor. - free breakfast […] consisted of toast with butter, jam, and cold cuts -I arrived on a national holiday (Aug. 20) and many streets were blocked off. The airport shuttle was unable to have access into the area. I was dropped off as close as possible, and it took me about 20-30 minutes to walk to the hotel with all of my luggage. Leer más

Great location, 10 minutes walk to the where all the tour meets. Conveniently near a major shopping street and the river. Hidden gem!

Jätte fint hotell med bästa läge, nästa gång stannar vi gärna där igen.

Et meget centralt beliggende hotel, med en hjælpsom reception, og fin rengøring.

Receptionisterna var väldigt trevliga och tillmötesgående. Det var inte lyhört mellan rummen, däremot lite från gatan. Väldigt varmt i rummet, gick inte att justera under vintern, så de eldade för kråkorna då vi var tvungna att öppna fönster... Sängarna var hårda... Wifi går att få om man ber om kod i receptionen. Bra hotel, värt minst fyra stjärnor enligt Budapest standard, troligt var det nog att hiss saknades som drog ner. Ligger perfekt, kan inte ligga bättre. Billigt.

Ich habe dieses Hotel wegen seiner günstigen Lage in der Nähe der Metro Linie 1 und in der Fußgängerzone gewählt. Dennoch wurde ich in aller Frühe durch Straßenarbeiten geweckt. Das mag unglücklicher Zufall gewesen sein. Das Bad war schon etwas heruntergekommen, obwohl das Hotel noch ziemlich neu ist.

Hotellet er helt ok i forhold til prisen. De i resepsjone var greie og hjelpsomme. Standaren eller var grei, men ikke helt på topp. Det var et rolig område uten biltrafikk utenfor. I underetasjen var det en Irsk pub uten at støyen derfra ble ubehagelig.

Lite tråkigt men perfekt placerat hotell, rent och fräscht med trevlig personal. Hoppa över frukosten och gå på ett trevligt café istället. Det finns ingen hiss och det är många trappsteg till våning två.

This is not a castle, and the windows are thin, so its quite noisy, but for the price, you get a great location, nice personnel, clean rooms. The staff is very nice, the only disadvantage was, that they do not know where or what is happening in the city - nonetheless...we had a great time in budapest

Hotell med enkel standar. Deilig aircondition på rommet. Høyt under taket, hyggelig betjening, Sengene var helt forferdelige!! Som å ligge på betong..(Vi liker faste senger). Dette trakk veldig ned. Gaten utenfor viduet vårt var gågate, det betydde ikke at det var stille og fredelig. Klokken 4 om morgenen ble det trillet bossdunker over borsteinene..etter […] det fortsatte det med at de lokale foretningene rett utenfor hentet varer som de også trillet over brosteinene..Men står en opp tidlig får en jo med seg mye av dagen;) Hotellet har ingen heis. Ikke noe problem for oss som bodde noen trapper opp, men måtte hjelpe til å bære bagasjen for et eldre par som bodde lenger oppover .Beliggenheten av hotellet var finfin! veldig sentralt. Vi hadde ikke frokost på hotellet og kan derfor ikke si noe om den. Koselig Irsk pub/resturant like ved siden av hotellet! God mat der. Kommer ikke til å bo her igjen, grunnen er hovedsaklig sengene. We stayed in Hotel Pilvax for 4 nights in the August of 2011. The hotel was excellent in all ways. Very nice staff, good clean rooms (with air conditioning) and the most importantly the location could not be better. There is a grocery store right opposite to the hotel, a bar in the same building where you can get breakfast (we had rooms right above […] the bar and had no problems with any usual bar noises), the shopping area is right around the corner and the nearest metro station is about 150 meters from the hotel (a 2 minute walk). And metro is absolutely the easiest way to move in Budapest! Keep in mind, that this is a 3 star hotel, so if you want luxury from your hotel (pools, massages and others) this is not the hotel for you. But if your holiday is about seeing Budapest and your hotel is for sleeping and storing your luggage, Pilvax is the best choice for you!!! Very close in the vicinity of one of the larger metro/subway stations, this hotel offers nice, spacious rooms (including airco) for a very reasonable price. Nice entrance and very nice receptionist too.

Mycket prisvärt hotell mitt i centrum. Bra service. Frukost är bara "acceptabelt bra".

Efter en uge på hotellet kan vi kun anbefale det til andre. Vi boede på værelse 202, et dejlig stort værelse ud til gågaden. De dobbelte vinduer og aircon sørgede for ro og behagelig temperatur. Receptionen var behjælpelig med diverse billet-bestillinger. I baren, som midlertidigt blev brugt til morgenmads-servering, mødte vi det venligste personale, […] som stod på pinde for at servicere. Fin morgenmad med pænt udvalg; Flere slags brød, frisk frugt, pålæg, ost og syltetøj samt lune toast. De gjorde alt for at det skulle blive en god start på dagen. Hotellet ligger direkte på en gågade, der fører til den store Vaci Utca gågade. Meget centralt men alligevel utrolig roligt selv i juli måned. Metroen ligger også lige rundt om hjørnet. Small, but nice hotell in the middle of Budapest centre. The hotel has a very helpfull staff, and there are free WiFi at the hotel. But be shure to get a room near to the reception, because we had a room at the end of the corridor, and unfortunately we did not get WiFi access. :-(
