Updated hotel with modern bathrooms. Rooms were some of the smallest I've seen--barely enough space to turn around. Some staff were helpful and courteous, but most were arrogant and rude. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and wasn't all that bad. I liked that the hotel was convenient to most sites and that it was modern, but I would look elsewhere before returning.

Location is excellent - in the heart of Rome's center with lots of eateries, ruins and parks. Lots of hills and traffic so need to be able to walk well. The hotel's decor and building is classic, has a nice coffee shop with a breakfast buffet. The bathroom was super and the bedroom was average. Some furnishings need to be either renovated or replaced for the price we paid. The concierge desk personnel were quite helpful with questions.

Comentado por Dana, deVirginia Beach, el nov 3, 2009
The location is fabulous- so close to everything essential. The rooms were normal size for European rooms- and the bathrooms were decent size as well. The only complaint I have was that they had turned the air conditioning off for the season, so there was absolutely no air flow in the room which made it very stuffy and hot at night. We had to open our windows at night for air, but the traffic noise was too distracting for sleeping. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful with directions and transportation. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it for location.

This hotel definitely not a 4*. Our room was a shoebox (small for italian/european standards even). the beds were hard also. the location wasn't bad at all though, which was the only redeeming factor. the breakfast was not very good either, and they were not so good at replenishing things like shampoo and body wash. Plus, the self-control temperature thing only appeared to be for decoration because it certainly did not work. All in all, search for something better, this place was a dud.

Comentado por Audrey, deWoodbridge, el oct 19, 2009
My friends and I booked this hotel for the last two nights of our vacation, hoping to end the trip with a bit of four star luxury after spending the majority of the time in hostels. We were thoroughly unimpressed. None of us could find anything four star-worthy about the place. For starters, there was no bellhop available to help us with our luggage (a standard I expect from a four star hotel). The place also felt cramped, which is understandable in a bustling city like Rome and yet I have experienced much better in other large cities. The room itself was also a little small and gave me no incentive to stay at the hotel. The only entertainment was a tv with very few channel options. Nor was there anything else to do at the hotel. Our group was hoping for at least somewhere to swim, but we had no luck. If the goal of the hotel was to push us out into the city, then it worked. But to me a four star hotel should be a place where travelers want to spend their time. In addition to all this the amenities were poor. There was not even any shampoo in the bath area. The hotel offered food, but at horrible prices. The only good deal was the bread and pastry tray that my husband and I ordered for room service on our last morning. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The price would have been acceptable for a true four star hotel, but this one just didn't cut it. All in all, we would have had a much better experience just going back to a hostel, even ignoring the price of the rooms.

Hotel has a great location - close few blocks to the metro, walking distance of the trevi fountains, roman forum, train station, etc. Room was nice and modern with high ceilings, a bit small, but good enough. Double bed was a true double bed, not two singles pushed together as we experienced in a lot of other Italian hotels. Hotel offers a free internet terminal, which is nice. Good hotel at a good price. I'd stay here again.

We stayed for two nights and were fortunate to get one of the large rooms which was brilliant. Our friends ended up with a smaller room which was just as clean and tidy just a bit compact but for a city that you spend little time in your hotel this was absolutely fine for us. Our room was perfect for us and the bathroom was lovely.Everything is recently refurbished and in good working order. We'd definately stay here again.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was pretty good, right on Via Nazionale with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The lobby was small but clean and presentable. The room itself wasn't bad and the bathroom was decent. However, the air conditioner was simply pathetic. Each night we had to sleep with a cold, wet towel on us just to keep cool. Even with the air conditioner turned all the way down and on high fan, it never got even close to cool. I would say our room probably never got below 82 degrees. For the price we paid, we at least expected a comfortable night sleep. Also, the pillows were very thin and uncomfortable. The beds, like most European beds, were very firm. I would not recommend this hotel unless it were during a cooler time of season, as the AC certainly couldn't keep up with the warm temperatures outside.

The hotel physical location and appearernce are excellentalthough along walk from the city center tourist draws like trevi, the spanish steppes etc. The room was beautiful appointed but hardly laarge enough to open two suitcases at the same time. The staff is courteous and nice but not competant to run a first class hotel. Phone messages were received by them but never given to either me or my wife. There were no bars of soap despite repeated requests -they kept leaving additional bath gel-they were out of soap. Tyhe computers were a disaster and the wi-fi inoperative and not a cup of coffee to be found.

We were told upon checking in (over Christmas 2008) that our "double" room had a bed that was "not quite a full, not quite a twin". We're thin people, but this bed was horrendously uncomfortable. It is misleading at best to call these rooms doubles. Since there are loads of Roman hotels in the same price range I would not recommend trying to squeeze yourself and your sweetheart into one of these tiny beds. Go somewhere else.

Excellent and hugely convenient geographically which is the best feature of the hotel by a country mile. That's not to say there's anything wrong with it at all, it's clean, comfortable and utterly practical which ironically is where it loses points. In its quest to attract the business crowd perhaps, it loses some of the charm that a holidaying couple might look for. It;s a ery small complaint in the grand scheme of things but it's efficient rather than cosy which could either be perfect or something of a letdown depending on your agenda.

We arrived very late at night in Rome; all the cash points were unavailable and exchange houses closed. The taxi driver said he would accept card, but once we arrived at the hotel the machine didn?t work. The hotel refused to pay for the taxi and charge for it from our credit card or hotel bill. Next day, we asked the receptionist to call a restaurant to check if it was open since it was a holiday, which he refused to do. On Saturday we asked about events going on at night, to which the receptionist replied he was not roman, so he didn?t know about anything in the city; if we wanted to know anything, we should look in the internet. They didn?t even help us carry our luggage on our way to the taxi. I will never go back to this hotel!

However, i think they may iron your clothes for you for a price, but you would have to clarify that.

In most respects, this hotel delivered below par. Having booked a double room, the bed we ended up with was hands down the smallest double bed I have ever come accross and not what I would expect from a hotel with 4 stars. Given the room was only set up for 1 person (one towel, one pillow etc) we were convinced we had a single room. Being informed that we had the room we booked (staff member we spoke to was very unhelpful), the next two nights were among the most uncomfortable I have ever had. To top off our stay, the shower flooded and the door actually fell off its hinges, falling on my boyfriend. Again, would not consider staying here again.

Over all a good hotel.. The room was very modern looking , with a large bathroom, and flat panel TV. Great location with walking distance to many of the tourist sites.. There is a useful bus stop just outside of the hotel that will take you all the way to the Vatican for one euro, and a subway station just a few blocks away. The staff was very friendly and helpful, although there was a problem when I requested wine bottle opener, and no one ever showed. A few problems that potential guests should know.. There is construction within the middle courtyard that will likely continue for a few months.. The constructions wasn't loud, and would start and stop at reasonable times of the day.. Room 240 was designed with a main water pipe that runs parallel with the wall, and water was rushing through the pipes all night long.. The hotel management must have known about the issue because they didn't question the problem and quickly assigned us to another room two floors above where the water pipe was not noticed.

We only stayed for two nights, took two twin rooms, which both had balcony's (A nice touch for the smokers in our group). The restaurant let the hotel down, it was very dated and poor seating covered in cheap materials. The staff in the restaurant were extremely rude and disorganised, with customers queueing for cups and plates to be brought out. I would probably not go back, as a tourist I preferred to stay nearer... Piazza Navona? So over all, not bad, but not excellent, could have been!

The location is great. We walked everywhere. Only took a cab back to the train station because of our bags otherwise that is within walking distance also. Very disappointed in the size of our room. We couldn't even open the armoir to put clothes in because the bed was too close to the door. At night I nearly fell over my suitcase walking into the bathroom because there was no place to put your suitcase except on the bed which was impossible at night. It's a beautiful hotel but it almost seems like they made the rooms smaller to accomodate more quests. The stairwells are larger than the rooms. The lift near our room held 2 people at a time and we were on the fifth floor so sometimes you had to wait for the elevator. Staff was very helpful. I would stay again but I would definitely call and inquire first on the size of the room.

Some previous reviews mentioned construction/renovation at the hotel. I don't know what was going on previously but when we stayed here (early Nov-2007) the work was finished and the hotel was in beautiful condition. The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is on a main road right in the middle of Rome along the major bus routes and about a 15 minute walk from the train station. Many of the major attractions are within walking distance or you can buy a bus pass for 2-Euro per day and take the bus right outside the hotel. The hotel is beautiful, clean and very reasonably priced considering that it is in a prime location in downtown Rome. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Rome and it will be at the top of my list if ever travel there again.
