For the price that I originally paid for this hotel, it definitely was a good buy. The hotel is conveniently located directly across the street from the Bus Eireann bus station, and is a minute walk to the Busaras LUAS tram stop and a Garda (police station); the Connolly train station is also about a block away, and it's about a ten minute walk from the hotel to the city center. The hotel also provides a FREE airport shuttle service, which would normally cost you about 15 - 20 euros p/p. The rooms itself were fairly spacious and also very clean, and I thought the beds were comfortable as well. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel to anyone if you are staying in Dublin.

Inexpensive hotels in Europe are usually very small and not nice. You get spoiled if you stay in hotels in America. This hotel was priced nice; like US rates, and comparable to a Hampton Inn, which is saying a lot for inexpensive hotel in Europe. If you are looking for a good rate and satisfied with clean, safe and decent; stay at this hotel.

Hotel very centrally located within walking distance of O'Connell St. Bus Station & Dart stright outside so super for seeing the sites. Rooms basic & definitely in need of revamp. Had checked other reviews prior to booking & had same complaint as others : cold showers so obviously they don't take much heed of these reviews @ hotel ! Also one of our party had leaking roof as patron overhead had early shower. The existing stains on the roof should have alerted us to the problem I suppose. They were moved to much superior room so were not too put out. Bar staff deinitely need to work on friendliness. When we were there barman started closing up @ 22.50 despite normal closing 23.30 which made us all very uncomfortable, no wonder there were so few @ the bar all night. We did not frequent there again as there are other more friendly bars in the immediate area. Celts around the corner is particularly worth a visit. Reception staff very helpful throughout. In a nutshell, good location for City visit provided you are not going to spend too much time in the basic room ! Not worth any more price wise than you will pay on budget deal.

My nine-year-old daughter and I stayed two nights at Hotel Isaacs. The location couldn't be more convenient--directly across the street from the main bus station, Busaras. However, the location is a mixed bag, because of the noise--not so much from the bus station as from the trolleys and the overhead trains that pass regularly until late at night, and the partiers who I assume were staying at the nearby hostel. The noise was tolerable for me because I had earplugs and I'm a heavy sleeper, but it could be a problem for others. The building is attractive and well kept, with a certain amount of character, and the staff was very competent and helpful. The lobby is inviting and comfortable. Our room was tiny--space for two beds and a very small desk, and nothing more. We had to pack and unpack our bags on the beds because there was nowhere else to do it. Despite the noise and the small room, I would definitely stay there again if I got the same reduced price.

Hotels in the south of the city are expensive, so we decided to go for a hotel in the north. We thought this hotel was conveniently located next to the bus station, as the airport bus stops opposite. We arrived early at the hotel, and fortunately our room was ready so we could drop off our luggage straight away. On our last day they stored our luggage, so we weren't burdened with carrying it around. When it was time to go to the airport, we simply picked up our luggage and hopped on the bus. Perfect. The reception and seating area is really smart, but is less smart when you go up to the bedrooms, however quite acceptable. Our twin room was really spacious, nice bedding, new carpet and curtains, but the odd bits of furniture were a little tired. The staff were polite and helpful. We didn't bother with the breakfast which was 12.50 each, but found a fab little cafe a few doors away. Overall though, good value for money in an expensive city.

This hotel is located directly across form the bus station which is convenient. We arrived early and they accommodated our early check in. The internet service in the lobby did not work most of the time. The room was very hot, as was the temperature of the water in the shower, neither of which we had control over. The breakfast was a bit pricey for the type of food. It was a nice place overall and I would recommend it.

Great Hotel. Good service. Awesome bar. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. We had a great room for 3 people. (far better than I expected.) The hotel is also in a great location in the sense that is seconds from public transportation and within walking distance of all major tourist sites. However, the surrounding environment is very loud and warm with no air conditioner or fans but these are really my only complaints. You will have people at the bus stop out front being loud all night long. Also the tram comes by the front of the hotel all night long and its quite loud as well.

Located right across the street from the bus station. The airport bus makes its final stop there so not long to carry luggage. Not too noisy and buses stop by 11pm anyway and especially by comparison to Temple Bar hotels. The occasional rowdy drunk kid but nothing that should keep you from staying here. Less than 10 minutes walk to O'Connell street and from there no more than 10 to half of Dublin's city centre attractions.

The Isaacs hotel is in a good central location. The public spaces are to a good modern standard although my room was a little tired. My room faced a central courtyard and therefore overlooked several other rooms, therefore not very pirvate unless you shut the curtains. I didn't complain as it was kept very clean and it was only a place to lay my head at night. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good but overpriced, lots of cafes around offer the same for around half the price. Overall considering the cost I would recomend if you need a central base and don't intend to spend too much time inside.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. I wanted a place to stay that wasn't extortionately priced, yet was reasonably close to the main areas of Dublin and accessible. The Isaacs is opposite the bus station, so is incredibly easy to get to from the airport, and is only a ten minute walk from the main shopping areas! It is nicely decorated and though the room was relatively small it was perfectly adequate for our needs. Our TV was only showing black and white, and when we mentioned this at reception we had a knock on the door within five minutes! Ten minutes after being at reception, we had a replacement TV and the matter was sorted! Very good service. The pizza/ pasta deal in the restaurant was good - just under ten euro per main before seven thirty. As Dublin is very expensive to eat in, this was a good price. I'd recommend the pesto chicken pasta! Well worth a stay, this hotel met our requirements and actually exceeded them in some areas. As for the sight-seeing in Dublin, the main points to note are that a lot of the attractions close early and have even earlier cut-offs for last admissions (three thirty in some places), so plan your pass for longer than you'd expect. And the bus routes are not very easy to figure out unless you know exactly where you want to go and are able to ask for specific route timetables.

Although reasonable standard of rooms and service, we encountered the same problems other visitors seems to have suffered, i.e. noise from the adjacent nightclubs. On the first night we asked to be moved from our first floor room due to the noise from the disco below on the ground floor, the staff were very understanding and found us a room on the third floor, which we then kept for the duration of our stay. Stay here by all means, but do ask at check-in about the amount of noise you will encounter in your given room.

Conveniently located next to a central bus terminal for direct transfer to/from the airport. About 10minute walk into anywhere worth being (O'Connell Street, Temple Bar, Grafton Street) which in November was a bit cold! Hotel restaurant was reasonably priced and good quality food. Rooms are quite small and a bit noisy due to locality of bus station, tram lines and train line but functional for a quick weekend away. Would recommend somewhere more central if price isn't an issue but for the price this hotel is perfectly ok.

This hotel, by far, exceeded any expectations that I had when I was booking it. All I wanted was a nice hotel for a night for my boyfriend's birthday, and I found this place last minute. It is one of the nicest hotels that I have stayed in, and surpasses what I would have thought to be a three star rating. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I booked a smoking room, but that did not affect its quality in any way, as it was very spacious with big windows, had a gorgeous bathroom, and a very comfy double bed. Only just over a five minute walk to the city center, I would highly recommend this hotel for business or leisure.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Dublin and the Hotel Isaacs was a great choice. Unfortunately the first night we found the room at the front of the hotel directly overlooked the bus garage and police station so it was very noisy despite double glazed windows. People shouting and laughing in the street could also be clearly heard so we requested and got a room on the 4th floor. This was perfect, overlooking an internal courtyard with a huge comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly, keeping our luggage on the last day while we had a last look at Dublin before flying back late at night.

You know what it's like when you arrive in a strange city and then have to spend ages trying to find your hotel? Well not so with the Isaacs. From the airport a 6 euro (747) bus ride drops you off at the central bus terminal right opposite the hotel. The tram also stops just outside and the train station is a short walk away. For restaurants and decent bars you really need to walk about 10 mins-ok if it's not raining! My advice...don't use the hotel restaurant. Breakfast there is 12.50 euros and although they do an earlybird 9.90 euro evening meal (pizza or pasta) they seem to want you in and out again in record time! Far better for breakfast to go around the corner to the Isaacs HOSTEL. They have a lovely little cafe in there where for about 7 euro you get the full works for breakfast that sets you up for the rest of the day. For a decent restaurant you really need to head for Temple Bar although avoid the Gallagher Boxty House - IMO very over rated! We got a free upgrade to the Georgian wing in this hotel - don't know why but we had a lovely large room, beautifully clean although we did get some train noise. Otherwise I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We would recommend buying a Dublin Bus Freedom Ticket, from Dublin airport’s tourist information centre. We went for 3 days, and for EUR 25, the ticket included transfer to and from the airport to Dublin city centre, and 3 days unlimited use on the Dublin Bus; a tour circling the city’s most famous attractions. The hotel was in a great location, less than 10 minutes walk to Temple Bar, and around 5 minutes to the Dublin Bus stop on O’Connell Street. The rooms were good, and staff attentive. Great value for money, although it’s all too easy to spend a small fortune on the great tasting Guinness from dusk til dawn. Would also recommend visiting the prison, and Dublin zoo, and obviously the Guinness factory, all of which have affiliations with the Dublin Bus, with which you get a EUR 1 discount on each attraction. Also Ryan’s pub, near Phoenix Park is a must, with such previous patrons as Bill Clinton and Julia Roberts (not together!). The original decor and calm atmosphere is good for a change from the heaving pubs of Temple Bar. Overall a great city and a top weekend break.

A short bus ride will get you to the hotel from the airport very easily. The rooms were very clean and spacious. A problem we found was the socket power turned off every night we were there and after a day walking around, after dinner we wanted to relax in our room, read a book and put the tv on, but were unable to due to the power turning off. When approaching the reception staff about this he asvised this happens once / twice a night... Not very comforting. But all in all a lovely trip and would recommend for weekends but no more.

The hotel could not have been better situated for transport, just stepping off the airport bus and crossing the road. The room was very clean and serviced well throughout my stay. It was the strangest shape room I have ever seen, with lots of corners and 2 pillars, one which was half in the bedroom and half in the bathroom! very odd, but added to the character. I did not have breakfast as it was quite expensive unless you really want a lot to eat in the morning. I'm not sure what other reviewers are expecting from a hotel in Dublin, but I just wanted hotel in a good location where I could tour the city from and that's exactly what I got. The room was a good price, had tea, coffee and a kettle and was cleaned every day. The hot water was instant and the bath was cast iron which made for a great bath. There was even a safe in the room which you could use for no extra charge. The hotel is opposite the bus station [quite literally] and a Police station. It's a ten minute walk to O'Connell Street and a fifteen minute walk to the Temple Bar area. It's the end of the line for the 747 and 787 buses from the airport and they take you direct to the door. Fantastic! If you've not been to Dublin before, then it's very busy and full of tourists at this time of year. I heard some traffic and people outside my room at night, but 'hey' IT'S DUBLIN! If you want quiet, or have small children, then get a hotel in the country and just get a bus into the city. Take an umbrella, it's Dublin ;)
