Wanted a hotel that was close to the train station in Copenhagen and was very happy with the Square. The bed was very soft (if you like firm beds, beware!), room not noisy at all considering we faced the street and although we had a superior room, it was the same price as a standard when I booked, I can't imagine the standard room being much different […] after looking at photos. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that but the reception staff were very good and friendly (helped us out with some local guidance & checked us in early). Also a big bonus with free wi-fi and the printing facility in the reception meant that we could check-in online for our flight and print out our boarding passes. Would definitely stay here again - loved the modern decor of the hotel and loads of good bars surrounding the area too! Leer más

The Square is looking a bit lack luster, and although comfortable, isn't worth the cost. A particular lowlight for my stay was the nightclub below the square.

The hotel is pretty nice, but there are three downsides: 1. if you get a window facing the plaza, don't plan on sleeping at night - the music from the downstairs nightclub WILL keep you awake even if you are on the top floor - and they do NOT warn you about this when you check in. 2. the rooms are tiny, at least compared to american hotel room standards. […] A junior suite is the same size as a regular american hotel room (and still only has a queen size bed) The place also does not seem very child friendly. OK located hotel, but rooms has limited ventilation. We asked for 45 min late tjeck out, but it was rejected. It makes my decision easy next time I am going on business to Copenhagen and it is not The Square.

Excellent location (close to central train station, Tivoli, tourist office etc). Reception v welcoming until I declined upgrade (at extra cost) to a larger room - then they rather lost interest. Had booked single superior room which was more than adequate size-wise, well appointed and warm. Not 100% clean though and they need to sort out the drains […] - a unpleasant smell in the bathroom on arrival that never really went away. Located right in front of Radhus, near Copenhagen Central Station- very convenient. The rooms are nice, and overall everything is quite tidy. The size of the bed was surprisingly small, smaller than the ones in Japan. I would say about 1 meter wide. The room itself was also quite small. This is an unbelievable value considering that it is in a prime location! In walking distance from the train station, Tivoli, and the famous Stroget street with great shops. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The hotel lobby is very cool. Free internet access. I got upgraded to a better room which was much appreciated. Near Tivoli, near the walking street, and near lots of restaurants and shops. Rooms are small but clean. Showers not baths. Modern and trendy. Buffet breakfast is good. Copenhagen is pricey but this place is very reasonable.

I've seen other reviews and can assure you that I have high standards/expectations and have traveled extensively. This is a great hotel, great location, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is the second year I have chosen to stay here over other hotels I have stayed in previously. I arrived very early in the morning and did not expect […] my room to be ready. Not a problem! Without me even asking, they had a room available and welcomed me with a big smile and said "enjoy your stay with us". Highly recommend! Leer más

This hotel has very friendly, helpful staff, wonderful breakfast upstairs (reasonably priced), and right at the famous "walking street." A block from Tivoli - tickets can be purchased in the hotel and charged to the room,Rooms are reasonably sized and comfortable. Beds are good. Bathrooms very nice. Wifi available in lobby, internet connection in rooms […] (not wifi). Both are free. Would stay here anytime! Leer más

It was the perfect location for us. Walking distance from the train station, great sites, Tivoli and everything else we wanted to see. We couldn't have asked for more.

Great location. Walk to train station and stroget. Only negative is no wifi in room. Only in the lobby.

The Square has lovely rooms (if a bit small), a nice staff, and a wonderful location near Tivoli, the shopping streets of the Stroget, and the train station.

I enjoyed my stay in Copenhagen. The Square is conveniently located for Tivoli and other bars and restaurants. The bed was too soft for my liking, but overall it was an enjoyable if brief stay. Would certainly use the hotel again.

Our room was directly above a very loud, active nightclub which stayed open until 5 AM on the weekend. The noise was unbelievable. Like most European hotels, there was not enough space for our clothes - no drawers, just a couple of shelves in the tiny wardrobe so we were literally living out of our suitcases. This hotel is in a great location, with quiet rooms despite being on a busy main square. It's attractive and shouldbbe ideal, but our air conditioning did not work, so we sweltered overnight. The maintenance person was very responsive, but ineffectual. They offered us other rooms, but they were no better and were had maintenance issues such as drapes […] hanging half off the windows. Location is close to shops and nightlife, just its a dirty grubby area outside of the hotel. Empty beer cans everywhere

The room was comfortable, clean ,had tea and coffe amking facilities, hairdryer, was warm hotel staff very helpful. I would stay here again but would not recommend facing the Town Hall.

We loved the location of the hotel and the overall look and feel. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. Everything worked well. The ONLY drawback was that the bed was far too soft for my liking, as were the pillows. Some might say if the beds are not great then how can I still rate the hotel as high as I did. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful throughout our stay. The only downside was that the room was not available until 3 pm on the Friday that we checked in; they took the opportunity, though, to try to upsell us to a larger suite. Also, the front desk staff is not knowledgeable about local events, restaurants, or bars. It would have been helpful […] to know that it was restaurant week in CPH so that we could have save a substantial sum on dinner. We found out about restaurant week because everyone else in the restaurant had the coupon. On the plus side, the hotel windows open, and the bathroom is spacious. ... it would help to not come up with doubts regarding the amount of stars (4) this accommodation is rated with. Well, the room we had was rather small, if not extremely small. I guess we had the choice of a bigger one but we didn’t feel like paying even more than we already were paying (which may have justified the convenient location but nothing else […] after that). What really bothered us was this love chair sized pull out sofa. The fabric was really disgustingly dirty and worn out. It had a multitude of holes, obviously caused by cigarettes (that were or were not allowed to be smoked in the room, we don’t know). However, we tended to ask for another room, expecting the sofa there couldn't be in such a bad shape as it was in our room but we did not bother after all. And paying more for a slightly bigger room was not the option. Maybe the other rooms are nicer - which I actually hope for the hotel - but besides that we didn't consider the mattresses to be of good comfort. They didn’t provide any support so we only could dream of a good night’s sleep as we kept trying hard having one. The halls, bathrooms and room carpets must have been redone rather recently but the furniture in the lobby showed strong signs of wear and tear, especially the red leather “tulip cup chairs”. Also worth to mention are the doors to the elevators which are somewhat of unusual for a hotel and rather dangerous because of the momentum they can get when opening and closing and because of the lack of transparency. So make sure you always stand clear of the radius of these doors. Only visual displays for each elevator indicate position and availability of the cabin. So you might keep on waiting even after one of the 3 elevators had already arrived for your disposal. Did I mention the location to be convenient? I guess I did but if you happen your room facing to the street with the dated movie theatre across the hotel, you most likely won’t need to turn on the lights in your room. “Dagmar” takes Leer más

There is no early check so you had to wait until 3 or upgrade. I thought that was a little sleazy. If you were flying international like myself I upgraded for the first day because I had already been up for 24 hours and just did not want to wait another 3 hours for a room to be ready. The Square has an ideal location, near Tivoli, the train station and the Latin Quarter. Good facility, nice staff. Fast, free internet connection via ethernet cable (provided). Perfect location a short walk from the central train station, access to bus and bicycle transport and within walking distance to many of the popular sites. The staff was very friendly and accomodating; we received good info on places to eat and relax. The small bar in the lobby was great for taking a beer while planning the evening activities. I was surprised to find an actually comfortable bed, as most European hotel beds are like sleeping on a cement slab. Good sized bathroom and stand-up shower with large towels and plenty of hot water, toiletries and a hair dryer that works! We didn't eat breakfast there because it wasn't included in the price of our room, but there are many cafes close to the hotel. They also have a locked luggage storage room if you don't depart until late in the day. Overall my experience was very good and I would recommend this hotel to others in Copenhagen for the weekend. We arrived for one night and had booked a superior room, however, according to the schematic posted by the elevators, we were definitely booked into one of the smallest rooms in the hotel - it definitely was not a superior room. We think it was because they asked if we wanted to upgrade our room at check-in to a Suite and we declined (since we were […] going to be leaving at 4am for our flight). Seriously, we were on the first floor overlooking a bus stop. The hotel and rooms are very clean and the location of the hotel could not be better. Just make sure that you get what you pay for. We booked at very short notice but still expect good standards for the price you pay. There was a burn mark in the middle of the carpet, the towels were rather rough, nice view of concrete out the window of the back of the hotel and there was two single duvets on the double bed. Location is good if you want to shop at international stores but the whole Radhuspladsen square is very busy and very commercial -- the opposite of what Copenhagen is about. The room was dirty and very small. The bed and pillows were way too soft.We stayed there for 2 nights and it was enough. They had no WI-FI and just one computer at the reception […] for the customers. If I went back to Copenhagen, I'd stay in one of the very nice neighborhoods of the city, on a quiet and charming street as everthing there is cyclable or walkable. Leer más

The staff were very friendly and helpful, my only complaint would be that breakfast is charged as extra, it should be included in the price of the room. I have stayed at Square several times before, and used it for business connction. Now it is a little to used and dirty. Breakfast was quite not worth the price.

I have now stayed in this hotel a number of times and find the rooms to be both comfy and clean, although some parts of the hotel seem to be newer... The rooms are not massive, but offer enogh space to both sleep and work if required with a good boadband connection for free. The style is contempary and would recommend to stay here, in fact I have not […] stayed anywehere else so cannot compare it to other hotels in CPH. Leer más

I booked an Executive room which is supposed to be the largest and most luxurious....the room was TINY and terribly laid out to the point where you couldn't even open the bathroom door fully as it hit the end of the bed. Similarly, when you opened the main entrance door to the room, it would hit the suitcase stand that was behind the door. Reception […] was always understaffed and quite rude. Breakfast was only till 10:00 which is very early and there was no other food/room service offered other than breakfast which is surprising for a apparent 4 star hotel. The pictures described the hotel as a 'boutique' style hotel, but it was far from it with the rooms being very basic, small and uncharacteristic! The only good thing about the hotel was the location. When you enter the foyer/reception area you feel that you are in a very nice hotel. Unfortunately that is where that impression ends. The service, attitude and amenity of the hotel fail to meet what the foyer promises. Our bed was "put together" with 2 loose planks of ply wood to add some support to the mattress. The problem was that these would shift, […] and cause the mattress to shift. We asked for a single bed covering (ie. a double blanket, or double bed doona) and were informed that these were not available, and the 2 single bed doonas supplied were all they could offer. Very strange to an Australian. When it was suggested that maybe they could keep a few available for those that ask for them the response was "Only a few people ask for them". I would have thought that was more of a case to keep a few, not to not keep them. Our room was not cleaned by the hotel staff when we returned at 5pm. In a place that charges this much you shouldn't need to ask for your room to be cleaned and made up. All in all I would suggest you might get better service, facilities and value for money at any of the many nearby hotels. Leer más

The hotel was recomended by 2 friends and was not dissappointed, since I have recommended to a friend.. The rooms on the top floor have terraces that are worth the upgrade.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful; rooms are some of the cleanest I've seen and they make excellent use of space - I never had any trouble putting all of my luggage and purchases away (I hate clutter!); the design is modern but comfortable - don't let the nondescript exterior fool you; […] and the location is central to the train station (that takes you to the airport), Tivoli Gardens, the Stroget, and other spots. Breakfast is offered, and there is a decent selection; however, for the price, I opted for the local pastry shops to get my morning bite. It's great if it's included in your room rate. Check out was quick as well. Overall, this was a great value and I would certainly stay there again. Leer más
