"OK for short stay"
Ok for a quick stay. For the price, it is fine, but no Ritz Carlton.The pool was disappointing, clean but very cold, Breakfast was adequate.

"Worst EVER"
My wife and I have stayed in a lot of dives over the years, but this one topped them all. Holes in the walls, dirty, no sense of decoration other than vintage gloom. This place seriously needs to be closed down.

"Maybe some renovation will help?"
I stayed on a Sunday night, and judging by the number of cars in the parking lot, there couldn't have been more than, say, 8 guests there. The toilet in my room was full and clogged (isn't this the one thing you think a housekeeper would check/clean when they are cleaning a room? Seriously). They quickly sent someone to plunge it, but still... Also, […] they failed to inform me that the restaurant isn't open for breakfast on Monday morning. The upside is that there's a heated pool and the bed was reasonably comfortable. It looked like they were doing a fair amount of renovation and moving stuff around in the halls in the morning as I was heading out, so maybe it'll be better when they get that done. But for now, while I wouldn't say avoid this hotel at ALL costs, I would avoid it unless you really can't find anything else in the price range. Leer más
"Not bad for one night stay"
The hotel was very well worn but not super dirty. It seemed to be in a safe and convenient location. The hopsital was right next door. I would stay again for a one or two night stay.
We were very disappointed with this hotel. It was dirty, very, very old beds, and furniture. We just felt uneasy and went out in the evening just to come back for bed and decided to leave really early just to get out of there. Other hotels were booked or we would have left. computer was also not working.
towels were not cleaned well. bed sheet was ripped.
"Extra Blankets and pool"
We requested an extra blanket as the window was broken in an open position. The front desk could not supply one. The pool itself was nice but it was in a detatched building. "Easy access"
Easy to get to.....they had saved us a smoking room when it was supposed to be non-smoking so they gave us one with one double bed and the bathroom was in need of some minor repairs. I think it was an "extra" room.
"At least near the highway..."
From an aesthetics and comfort standpoint, this hotel has relatively little to recommend it - it's shopworn, outdated and downright unattractive. But if what you need is a convenient location, clean bed, a hot shower and passable coffee the next morning, you could do much worse than Hilltop. (I know -- what an endorsement, right?) "Stayed on our way to Nova Scotia"
The hotel was very clean and quiet. The only thing was their wi fi didn't work and they do have a computer for you to use in the front lobby but it was terribly slow. Mainly went to sleep Hotel room and washroom in our room was very clean, a little outdated but again very clean!! Staff were pleasant.

"Never again"
Paper thin walls, noisy people inside and out. Had to use the masterkey because they lost the key from the room. Slow checking in. Very expensive for the quality of the hotel
"Don't stay here"
The hotel is a dive. The bed is comfortable but the sheets appeared to be dirty and worn (out). The front desk people were short and not welcoming. there was supposed to be continental breakfast---there wasn't. The hotel appeared dirty and smelled. Don't stay here!
"Hilltop Inn in Berlin VT"
I would have rated this hotel a bit higher except that one day they neglected to clean the room and when returned late that day they didn't seem very helpful and it took quite awhile to even get a fresh set of towels.
"Just a place to S, S and S..."
Good place to just sleep and do the 3 S's...otherwise, it's an outdated motel with sub-par furnishings, etc. It wasn't filthy, but there was obviously no pride in the upkeep of this property. Only stay here if you get a low rate.
"good deal for money"
Although the hotel is in need of some up-dating, the rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and the staff is friendly. The walls of the hall are decorated with antiques which provided entertainemnt to our kids. The bathrooms have some extra supplies (toothpaste, make-up removal napkins) which are not always available in other hotels.

Friendly staff but the hotel needed a remodel or to be shut down. Old place and honestly a little scary.
I chose this hotel because it was a great deal. My first impression of the lobby was that it was slightly run down. Our room was in the back of the building, and when we pulled up there were men grilling near the entrance staring us down as we unpacked the car. The room was fairly clean. There are no-smoking signs everywhere but the hallways reek of […] smoke. It is right off the highway and seemed like there were a lot of construction workers, and truck drivers staying there. "Hilltop in Vt."
Stayed there 5/25 and was very happy with room, therefore made reservation for 6/11 and not at all pleased with room. It was second floor, not very clean and for the same price my sister and Mom were on 1st floor with big TV and much nicer. How can you charge the same when the rooms are clearly not? Don't know if I will stay there again.

"Hilltop Inn-montpelier VT"
It was as expected, as a two star hotel. except that there is no lounge, as advertised. And the restaurant wasn't open when it was supposed to be. The room was comfortable though.
"Hotel from Hell"
Wires were hanging out of the walls and ceilings. Bedspread was floral orange but drapes were green with a more modern print. Carpet was dirty and the phone did not work. Called the office 3x. Someone picked up but they could not hear me. Maybe they should have sent someone to the room to see what the problem was or maybe an EMERCENCY. We were just passing through, but it would be nice another time to get to stay longer, the staff was very friendly, very accommodating. Everything was lovely.
It served my purpose. I would have liked more food options in the area. The pool needed some maintenance. Front desk person was very accommodating and checked us in early.
"Hilltop Inn - Not what I expected"
The good - the room was quiet. A restaurant was attached and food was pretty good and good price. Pool was warm. Issues - No fitness center as advertised. Bathroom sink did not drain well. Older furniture and not very clean. I placed a towel on chair to work at table. Room was hot even though the heat was not on, AC did not work (reservation was early […] March) but I could open the window to cool the room off. Had to ask front desk to make more coffee in the AM. "Hill top inn stay"
When we got there it was a really nice location, and a wonderful big room. The pool was nice and the lobby was quaint. The problem that we had is that the people who were working there seemed like we were a big inconvenience to them. Our cleaning ladies kept asking when we were leaving, and when they would come for a cleaning we would just ask for towels […] which seemed like a hassle for them. While we were there, it snowed about 20in and they hardly plowed the parking lot, and it was not until 2 days later that we had a shoveled walk way into our hotel door way. "Hilltop is a good buy: not amazing but cheap"
Hilltop is as-advertised. It is a 2-start hotel. As such, it is inexpensive, and is reflected in the general accommodations and decor and comfort factor. That is, it was fine for our one night in the area. Friendly staff, clean-enough, but not new. Cheap and just fine. If you aren't a picky, mamby-pamby, suburban-entitled consumer, you'll be just fine. […] I think you get exactly what you pay for in this experience, which is nothing bad and nothing spectacular. "Good Value"
Restaurant is a little iffy, it is not affiliated with the Hotel, odd hours no room service, but that is no real negative reflection on the Hotel, just beware. Otherwise I’d not look further for better value and convenience. Not a five star hotel, but a comfy bed, fairly quiet, clean, hospitable.

The location and amenities were excellent, especially family-friendly extras such as a heated indoor swimming pool, ping-pong table, complimentary apples, candy, coffee, juices. There were no hidden charges, for example, wireless internet was free. A small office area with free access to a computer and printer was a plus. The hotel was okay for the price. Nothing fancy, and a little run-down, but clean and comfortable. It suited us for the short time we stayed.
