I found it a bit expensive and I was getting half off discount as well but I must say it was a nice experience. The staff were fluent in English at the counters but other staff like cleaners and a few doormen didn't speak English. It was still much better than some other hotels I have been to in Shanghai. The decor was very plush. The food was good […] but even more pricey than London for a gourmet pizza. I had a view of The Bund from my room but unfortunately the view of the TV Tower was blocked by a tall building next door. We paid extra to have a third person included on the reservation but the hotel would not except the fact that 3 people should be eligable for breakfast and executive club lounge benefits. They treated us like we were trying to get something for nothing! It was very embarassing.You should send them a letter telling them of our displeasure!

The hotel lobby as well as my room had an extremely unpleasant odor. Other than that, the hotel was fine.

Room is big and clean but the problem is the restaurants/cafeteria on the 1st floor. If you are hungry, avoid this restaurants as it takes over 20 minutes for them to bring drinks. We went there 3 times and it was the same every time. It is not what you expect for the price you pay! BTW, the food is just ok. Beautiful hotel, comfortable room and great service. I hope they have coffee in the rooms or lobby. Restaurant prices are expensive.

we had 2 beautiful rooms. We had to get an extra bed for my 9 year old and the bed needed to be thrown away it was so old and uncomfortable. The staff tried to make it work by adding a comforter and we had to argue to get it replaced. The concierge gave us the wrong directions and did not want to help us find our way thru their metro, each time they […] suggested to take taxi which for 5 people is not an easy thing to do. Since this considered one of the best hotels in Shanghai, I'm expecting a bit more. Pros: Rain show is EXCELLENT! Very strong, hot, comfortable shower. Room has a dividing door to the bedroom...nice touch. Toilet and shower both have separating doors...nice touch. I stayed in Westin for 3 days, and enjoyed my time here. Pros: 5-star lobby and atmosphere 5-star service Great breakfast buffet The first room reeked smoke even though it was a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. Cons: The first room reeked smoke even though it was a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. The whole floor smelled like--as my four-year old said--peepee. That was disappointing and surprising in a 5-star hotel. Room and bathroom is smaller than expected. I got a bund/river view room, which they had only one per floor. I could see bits and pieces of water but not much else. Let's just say I don't consider this to be a hotel on the bund, as compared to other hotels right on the bund. Location is not the best. It's not close to bund, nor close to Nanjing Lu pedestrian road. In this Shanghai summer heat, walking 6, 7 blocks is a torture. We had to take taxi everywhere. Swimming pool is tiny in my opinion. Water temperature in the pool is colder than I could stand, but my four-year-old had no problem. The first day the hot tub had luke warm water, which turned out to be okay. The second day the hot tub was burning hot. I got an great deal and would stay here again if I get that deal again. The lobby lounge and buffet were spectacular. Loved the large soaking tub, rain shower and separate commode closet. My only complaint is generic-I found every bed and pillow in China, even at the 5 star properties, to be quite firm, and not in a good way. Pillow-top has not made its way to this country.

Friendly staff and large, well appointed rooms. Easy walking distance to the Bund. Recommend the upgrade to club level - great happy hour and food.

Wonderful comfort in the heart of Shanghai. The hotel staff was very helpful in all areas. The Sunday brunch is on the expensive side but very tasty, especially if you are looking for American style comfort food.

The Westin Bund was a fantastic hotel. Friendly and very attentive staff, beautiful room with great view of city. Location was excellent, close to all sight seeing places. Would highly recommend this hotel, and would stay here again.

We'd been booked into an Accor group hotel by our tour operator (I think it was called Paradise) which was supposed to be 4* but absolutely awful. We checked out straight away and sought relief in the Bund. And what a contrast - a magnificent lobby, beautiful rooms, excellent service and wonderful food. The Bund and promemade are within a short walking distance. the rooms are very large but 50 per cent of the room is made up of the wardrobe area and bathroom. the bigget bath I have ever seen with a giant double sliding door to the bathroom and a second door to the entrance hall The leisure centre gym and jacuzzi were […] very good and well fitted out and open until very late. I was able to stay in the new wing and compare with the older wing. While the layout and cleanliness are the same, the modern and brighter look of the new wing feels so much more luxurious and worth the extra cost! Great hotel with one of the best health clubs in a hotel. Truly a 5 star hotel.

The Westin Bund Center in Shanghai is always a solid stay. No complaints. Great location, good hotel restaurants and my business partners and I always look to stay here when in Shanghai. Rest easy, this is a good choice.

Shanghai is busy, smoggy and the Westin is a welcome home at the end of the day. Convenient location, 10-15 mins from Nanjing Rd East and same from Yuan Gdns so quite handy for sightseeing. If you have time and some spare cash try a treatment at the Banyan Tree Spa - I have sampled many spas and this was the best treatment I have had, EVER!

Hotel delivered on all levels. Great Sunday brunch with entertainment. Work out facilities were top notch and immaculate. The staff went out of their way to serve your needs.

We were very pleased with the spacious studio-like room and the flawless service. We had an early check-in at 8am without problems. Our in-room dining order was delivered within 10 min. The Bund and Nanjing Road are within 10 min walking distance. The immediate surroundings are somewhat dull. My wife, my son, and I stayed in a suite for nine days at the Westin Bund. By New York standards, it was a great buy, but compared to other Shanghai hotels it was not cheap. The fitness center was first rate. The spa was magnificent. My wife and I treated ourselves to a massage which had us relaxed for several days. The concierge service was excellent. […] We consulted them several times a day as we don't speak the language. My only critique was the restaurants they recommended were very good but the choices were pretty safe. We had a nice and tidy room, with nothing to complain about it. We had a very good rate with hotels.com and also a special 50% discount for the Spa so we enjoyed 3 hours massage.

Amazing Hotel. Deluxe rooms are large and very very clean, 2 tvs, desk, great view, and a fantastic bathroom with black marble everywhere. The concierge service was outstanding...made us reservations, arranged train tickets, etc.

Very comfortable to escape to after 40 degree temperatures outside. Buffet great if you like sushi and chocolate desserts. Slightly inconvenient in that it takes 10 minutes to walk to the metro, but proximity to Yu Garden is a bonus. The Bund area itself is a building site (July 2009) and quite disappointing.

Though the room was small, everything is world class about this property and everything works.

during my three nights stay, i found the staff to be extremely helpful, with regards to recommending restaraunts and sights to see. they were always ready to answer any inquiry and to give suggestions about what to do and see. the quality of the room was excellent, and the decor very modern. the only issue i had was with the 120rmb surcharge for using […] the broadband connection per day. this was the only gripe i had with the hotel. the location was excellent, within walking distance of the amazing yu yuan gardens, the people's park, nanjing road and the bund including the bund sightseeing tunnel connecting to pudong. great stay, would definetly recommend to friends and others. The Westin is a very well-appointed hotel with all conveniences expected of a luxury modern hotel and is well located about three blocks from the Bund and slightly further to the main shopping areas. On-site services in the hotel are expensive - for example $25 for an hour on internet (free in my previous hotel, the Shangri La) while a standard coffee […] was over $10 twice the Shangi La price and breakfast was $35 compared to around $20 in Shangi La. On the positive side the room was excellent (I got an upgrade, although this initially came with a price tage I refused to pay), the gym was excellent (and free) and the porters were both polite and helpful. Service was generally very good except on the first day at "The Stage" when it was incredibly slow and the Tap Sum and Steak sandwich were both poor although breakfast, while expensive was excellent. 整間飯店裡面都是煙味，房家也是，已經要求非吸煙房還是一樣，浴室煙味濃到洗澡都很難受，對於不會抽煙的人來說真的非常痛苦。

地下鉄の駅からも近いし、観光・ビジネスの両方にとても利便性が良い立地条件であった。 部屋も綺麗で広く、噂には聞いていたがベットの寝心地は最高だった！シャワーブースと別々になったゆったり浸かれる浴槽があることも我々日本人にはありがたい。また、ホテル内の様々なところに無料のミネラルウォーターボトルが置いてあり、宿泊者はいつでも飲むことが出来るはとても嬉しい（しいて言えば、冷えていると更に嬉しいが、「冷たいものは身体に良くない」と考える中国のお国柄では仕方が無いか・・・）。 欧米人の宿泊者も多い為か、中国のホテルにしては従業員の対応も良い方であるが、やはり、応対時に全く笑顔が無かったり、廊下ですれ違っても無表情で挨拶も無いといった点では、まだまだ日本人には物足りないレベルであることは惜しいと思われ […] る。 スポーツセンターのプールを利用した際は、「更衣室への案内が足りず戸惑い、更に、ロッカーの鍵を渡してくれることを忘れられ、着替え後に問い合わせをしてやっと鍵をくれた」といったこともあった。この点は中国人従業員の再教育が必要であると感じた。 ハード面は最高であるので、ソフト（従業員教育）をもっとしっかりすれば、本当の意味で最高のホテルになると思う。 Leer más

チェックイン時に外灘の夜景が見える部屋にしてほしいと申し出た。エグゼクティブタワーにアップグレードできるが追加料金がかかるとのこと。了承すると、実際に部屋を案内してくれて、納得してから決定。エグゼクティブタワー宿泊時の特典についての説明も丁寧に実施（専用のエレベーター、チェックインカウンター、コンシェルジュサービス、朝食、ドリンクフリー、ビジネスコーナー利用、チェックアウトタイム延長など）。部屋は5つ星に恥じないスペース、清潔で、アメニティー等が整っていた。ロビーなどで少し迷っていると、すかさずスタッフが声をかけてくるし、笑顔を絶やさないなど、スタッフへのサービス訓練が行き届いていると感じた。
